Model Y review from an mechanical and software engineer's standpoint.

I suspect every honest Australian driver of a Tesla has done the same, more than once too.

Model Y review from an mechanical and software engineer's standpoint.

Interesting, I have my MYP on sport settings, but it took a while to get used to one pedal and the steering, Now I prefer the sports steering mode and sharper acceleration. What I do not like at all is the Emergency lane departure false alarms, it does not cope well on narrow roads with no...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Well I have done over 3000km in the model y P. Have broken the touch screen putting a bottle of wine in the passenger foot well, screens are fragile, who knew? Car is PPF'd and some home ceramicing to help keep clean. Love the larger text update and the left scroll customization. But, do not...

Lane departure avoidance & Forward Collision Warning

Yes, crappy lane departure avoidance system is the best c reason not to go fsd if it is anywhere near as incompetent as the compulsory lane departure junk software.

Lane Departure Warning when set to OFF

Sometimes it just sees a seam in different types of bitumen, thinks it's a line a goes berserk. A frigging annoying crap piece of software.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Does anyone know how to get stop the displayed speed limit from dropping back from 100kph (typical tassie country road) to 50 when the car is about 2 km from a highway or a suburb, way before the signed speed limit change? I like the over speed limit chime but have to turn it off because it...

I drive a v6 rav4 low 6 secs 0 to 100 and used to drive a Mazda 3 mps turbo about 6 seconds too, it was a beast but the torque steer was scary. The rwd Tesla's are just as fast but refined at the same time.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

My EDD keeps moving out a day or two every couple of days, now 3 to 24 April. I am guessing that means not before the 24th. It suggests to me I am one of the first off the boat so in a back corner and Autocare Services is counting down actual deliveries as they go and that means the EDD has to...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

That is what I was thinking, add last on first off three times and the significant congestion in the tiny devonport yard, any outcome is possible, as I said above, would gladly go to them but given the packed in storage it would be a lottery to get a specific car out. The waiting in the dark is...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Any news that Autocare services is actually delivering those march cars yet? Haven't seen any posts indicating movement after what must be two weeks now. If they would post me a lock card, I'd gladly get down to Devonport and drive it home, if it could be gotten out of the blocked in car park...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Just received the dreaded EDD update . The last one ended in 31 March now is 30 MArch to 20 April, 3 weeks again, one step forward three wks back. From the look of Autocare Services Devonport I am wondering if the size of the influx with Australia suddenly being a strong export focus by Tesla...

MSM is that a colour???? couldn't see passed the white ones. Lots of grey ones too but I think the security guard was getting concerned so couldn't photo all of em.

Visited Devonport Autocar Services today, Monday, doesn't look like any change in count, about 50 plus Ys and 20+M3 but who cares? Some pictures to answer the question, is mine this one or perhaps one of these two?
  21. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Ah, that paints a pretty clear picture then, thanks.

Tried to ring autocare services today, no answer. Hope you are right and they get a move on. Any idea of the number of Teslas they are handling?

Had a vin for several weeks, a bit after Paglia was around Port Kembla. All paid and ready for acceptance, but silence.

First day, all that stuff finalised weeks ago. Feel like they have forgotten me. Might have to hassle someone.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Anyone in Tas got a specific delivery day for their MYP??? I have 26 -31 March EDD but no contact from tesla yet to confirm when exactly...it is the 22nd already!
  26. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

It is just Tesla booking cars through their system. Ghost cancellations not real ones, happens every boat.
  27. W

There she goes, can't say it has been a sweet experience.
  29. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Yes I was TBD for quite awhile, I thought because I am in Tas and an extra step is involved using a flat tray truck to deliver to my address as no delivery centre here yet. It changed to a date range when they got sorted and has been stablish since. If your VIN is on the RAV you aren't far away...

Definitely, and with a picture of Paglia and a skew whiffed Hoeg Trooper in the background for posterity.
  31. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Viking Passama scheduled to dock 90 mins after Paglia scheduled to leave. Hot seat changeover. PS my EDD hasn't changed for weeks, I'm choosing to interpret that as a good thing 26 March is just 10 days way, could be early who knows.
  32. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Paglia is on the way to the dock, Svitzer Otway is waiting to welcome her. Hoegh Jacksonville is well on her way out. I believe that is all on schedule.
  33. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

    Love your work.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Just saw your glitch comment, that seems likely.
  35. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I agree, odd that the EDD has drifted so far but ship is arriving at the same time. Perhaps the Sales assit was just giving the info about boats that hesh had. I give up, the delivery window seems usually to get smaller not wider in my experience that's all.
  36. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

If they are giving you a three week delivery window you have not yet got to the final delivery stages. You know it is nearly certain at a 5 day window EDD. Unlikely to be Paglia, more likely the next boat Viking Passama or even next which I believe is also very close, Turandot late MArch which...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

So, Hoegh Jacksonville is now back to birth 3 but with a short turn around which has moved paglia 1 day earlier to if a rember right. The public hol. Better than nothing.
  38. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Perhaps I have been holding my breath in anticipation for too long and am losing it.
  39. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

That was my hope too, but today it seems Hoegh JAcksonville's visit to Appleton dock was very brief. It is now showing back in Melbourne Anchorage so no change for Paglia. Vessel finder shows the move in ship details so I don't think I was hallucinating.
  40. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I just checked again. Hoegh Jacksonville is now back at Melbourne Anchorage, they must have wanted a coffee and dropped into Appleton dock for a few hours. Looks like they will be back into Webb according to Mirrat, so I had best leave him alone. :)
  41. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Paglia and then viking passama next with Tesla's according to history and Mirrat schedule.
  42. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Looks like Hoegh Jacksonville has gone to the upper Yarra dock supposedly freeing Webb west3. The mirrat schedule not showing that yet.
  43. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I am same white on black. My guess Paglia has a few Wht on blk MYP, so I guess we are in the first ship into Melbourne ie paglia.
  44. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

So far so good no change. Nobody tell Tesla.
  45. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I am afraid to check my delivery date now, what a debacle.
  46. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Does seem Paglia is in the bad books for some reason. Leo Spirit seems to have been slipped straight through the East Coast ports and into Melbourne in "normal" time. Perhaps the public holiday is getting in the way of handling the cars off the boats or other manning probs, so rather than...

  49. W

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I think the problem is that quarantine and fire on the H Trooper have caused a big backlog. Boats get to port based on when they arrived off Melbourne. That is a stated Miraat policy. So delays delay all equally.
