EX30... Carwow has it as a model Y competitor (yes I know, it isnt really due to small boot) But even if it was, the estimates from one factory assuming 1/3 of production is 60K units in 2024. Australia might get 1-2K units...like basically one ship.

That is if the car is a taxi...everyone else is 12.5% a year, so it means you depreciate over 8 years. But the point is, if at any point you sell a new car before the 8 years are up, it is treated as income! so you dont win anything by the instant tax write off except 1. you are winding up abn...

Right, so you get a txt, have 2 days to pay and then all this saga starts... Nothing is easy. 20K is 3 days of effort assuming each time you call next day and the money is confirmed received... I was planning on making sure it arrives for EOFY and doing the 2 day before payment.

Question, payment is done via ETF. My bank, the lovely CBA only allows a max of 20K a day...and the bank account that Tesla make for everyone appears to be unique to the order (via citi) and so the online payment app is wary of it since it has never seen the account before... what are people...

No, if you sell the vehicle the amount you depreciated you will have to pay tax on. So max is around 58K. But if you depreciated 58K and sell the car immediately...you would pay tax on that 58K. There is NO free lunch...and they track the registry.

You have to pay the tax if you sell, the car is owned by your business and an asset. You sell the asset it is viewed as income if fully depreciated. In other words, no free lunch...the only way to game the system is sell the car for cash + lower market amount, but I guess they'll check this...

The temporary full expensing lets you depreciate the whole car in the single tax year. Everyone is doing it. The fact is mind, if you sell you pay tax on the sale as income.
