BMS_u031 Battery fuse requires replacement soon OK to drive - Schedule service

We were told the fuse has a limited lifetime and the system reports replacement needed when the time runs out. Being physical devices it is unpredictable when it will fail, so the timing mechanism is a bit conservative. Schedule service as soon as convenient.

    Flat spots in Model 3

I think you will be fine. Tires these days are MUCH better at avoiding flatspots than years ago. Setting the tire pressure up a little as you did was sensible. We've had 2 cars with 6 months in the garage untouched and after running a mile or two (and ensuring tire pressure sensible when...

    Reverse camera and HW upgrade.

We changed to MC2 (tesla did for free, as they promised some time ago). Anyway, you get a faster display and a whole new EMMC (emmc? mmc? Anyway it is a memory chip using a faster electrical interface than usb and the new emmc is a really good idea, IMO). Screen is faster! I recommend MC2. As...

Model 3 Rear Bumper and Trunk Damage

That 'pulling' concerns me a little. You might want to have a shop look around the car and maybe check alignment. Assuming the 'pull' is new as of the damage. A Service Center might be able to say if the sensor issue might be relevant if you brought the car in. In our first Model S...

Dec. 21, the Solstice, we generated just 7 KwH, the best winter generation now is about 20 KwH. Best summer gen now is 40 KwH. twenty 10-tear-old panels, ten 7-year-old-panels. 10 or so miles south of the border of the city of San Francisco. With the sun so low some trees in the...

Tesla model 3 loud Sound when rebooting

Maybe irrelevant, but sometimes getting the car to move at all and break some adhesion of the tires to a very smooth floor makes quite a loud pop.

    Mobile service availability

Even when the app lets you put your home address in as location the service center will override that as they see fit, usually meaning they change the location to the service center. I'm a bit lucky, the closest SC is just two miles away.

Series of unexplained credit card charges from Tesla?

Everyone should have a CC to use solely for automatic payments, a card that never leaves home and is never used for on-line charges. It's just too time consuming (in case of fraud) to have auto=payments and everyday-payments on one card.

    Model S might be…. Better?

On a sensitive day wife has reported motion sickness in MS. Only on days she does not feel well. I attribute it to our Air Suspension option so we can adjust ride height up for curbs. 2016 Model S 90D Sluggish Touch Screen

IMO it should be fixed because of the recall. Our 2017 had the same problem and replacing that part (a board I guess, not just the emmc?) fixed it. Early software over-used the little 8GB device (it is a memory chip) and the replacement will be 64GB and the software no longer over-uses it...

    2023 - Model Y low tire pressure

Advice is good, above, but IMO you should (for any car, not Tesla specific) have a decent tire pressure gauge in the trunk. You cannot trust the pressure readings at gas stations, and you do not want to be excessively high or excessively low (10+ percent off of what the sticker on the car says)...

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

Latest word ( known to mechanics this year I read) is that modern oils degrade rod/main bearings in ICE cars if the car is not started for a few years. Nobody said such a thing 5 years ago AFAIK. Best not to plain to store for years without getting expert advice on storage! degrades the...

Leaving in fla in garage for 5 mo..What should i do to protect it & what should i expect

Modern radial tires do not get flat spots like cars did decades ago. During 3 years of covid 2 sportscars and a 4Runner simply did not move. None showed any flat spots once finally driven. I would not worry about 6 months non-moving at all. I should add that the sportscars were hard to push (by...

burbank service center drove my car 110+ miles during service?!

I admit it is a surprise. But really, what? Did they use too much...electricity? Wear something out? They tried to fix my wind noise, but could not. Tesla Roadster - Shannons Autumn Auction

A friend showed up with one at a Lotus Club gathering and the seats looked very far down from the sill. Just like a Lotus Elise. If one is not very flexible or strong an Elise is hard to get in and out of. I did not ask for a sit-in on the Tesla Sport though.

Has anyone had Tesla renege on a offer?

Well, the offer would surely have specified a limit of miles-driven since the estimate was made. Back in 2017 the Model S trade-in offer we received allowed 500 miles. We paid attention and did not use the 2014 MS except to drive to Fremont to pick up the 2017 MS. A friend, with the same offer...

    purple headlight icon

I don't think the (MS) headlight indication look very different, high vs low beam. Somehow the distinction is not as evident as with other cars. Yes the lines are horizontal with blue-high, angle down with green-low. But on a quick glance I'm often unsure which is present. Takes more than...

6 days - that's how long the fob battery lasts

Get one of those fob pockets that are a metal (invisible wires) cage. Put the fob in it while at home. No signals will get into the fob, nor will it be sending signals. With the fob in its 'pocket' you can take it right to the car and the car won't 'see' it. Search for 'key fob protector' and...

    Charge Status in App

Scheduled departure is not for me. No schedule! Looking at the graph on the Tesla App, the height of the bars is a measure of the kWh used, the height meaning is shown on the screen to the right of the graph. That graph appears to me to have nothing whatever to do with time of day.

can't stop unwanted premature initiation of new wifi connection - thwarting successful connection

I have Eero mesh and though it's not yet a serious problem I notice that sometimes the car (when in the garage) has no connectivity (for no reason I can think of other than Eero). I have not figured out how, if I turn on guest access, I can limit guest access to 2.4ghz.

    Charge Status in App

What makes you think that graph has anything to do with the time of day? It is just saying which days you charged and how much. IMO. I just noticed the line is RED if it was supercharger charging (which I did because we had no power at home for a few days).

Thoughts on current available 40amp mobile charging units

davewill has a point. At 14-50 outlets at Thunderhill Raceway (California) , which were all over the paddock, they sometimes tripped if I used even close to 40A. Since I was there all day (racing a gasoline car) I found it safer to stay close to 32 A.

    How to justify Tow Hitch?

If you need to tow, then you do. I trailered sports cars around to competitions (gasoline tow vehicle) for years. It's a pain to do because it makes parking hard (need giant space) and backing up is a pain to do (thoughh doable). My suggestion is: don't do it.

Today we drove the 20 miles to parking in San Francisco to see the Ballet in the Opera House (which was wonderful). On arriving back home I brought the charge cable near the charge door and pressed the button and ... the charge door opened instantly! I have no idea why, but now the button...

Good advice, thanks. Touching the charge door does open the door...just tried it. Perfect fix. I was at a supercharger during the power outage (first supercharger visit in a two+ years) but I cannot recall for sure if the button on its charger opened the charge door. Anyway now I know how to...

Charger cable stopped opening charge door.

Charger cable stopped opening charge door.

Good joke. Nope, the power is back, and my question relates to now, with normal electrical power, not during the brown-out or zero-voltage from the power company (PG&E). I would have responded yesterday, but...neighbors power was out and comcast relied on the power across the street in some...

Charger cable stopped opening charge door.

We had a brownout lasting 48 hours followed by 48 hours with no power. I thoughtlessly left the wall charger plugged into its 14-50. This is a Tesla wall charger bought in 2017. Now I have to touch the screen 'open door' on the Charging page to plug in the charger, just pushing the button on the...

Breaker Fuse Blew with Mobile Charger

Look at the manufacturer of the fuse box. If it was installed in the 1950's or 60's it might be Federal Pacific. If it is, be aware those fuse boxes are dangerous and have burned down houses. If it is Federal Pacific the problem with overheated wires is not surprising. There's a long story...

Curb Rash on brand new Model Y Rims... How should I repair them or do I need to replace them? Worth to claim insurance?

Clean the tires and wheels and sand any sharp edges so they look better. Nothing to worry about. Those wheels are tough. A low curb near us has serrated sharp edges on a really narrow local road. So of course I rubbed against it. Not recommended, but no problem.

2022 Model S: High Beams and Auto-Locking Questions

Living in a suburban neighborhood I have the same issue with AutoHighBeam. Out on the freeway AutoHighBeam works ok, in general. I assume that on the Settings->Lights page I assume AutoHighBeam shows a blue dot (meaning On). So change AutoHighBeam to off (it will then be all dark gray).
