I can confirm it works on my phone, but only after I select United States as the region. I am located in Canada and that is the default location when I visit Tesla's website. I confirm I cannot get it to work on my Windows computer, regardless of region setting.

Brand New Model X Tires in Toronto

I am renewing this thread and offering flexibility in the price. I am not putting my usual number of annual miles on the car due to Covid. At this rate, I won't need these as replacements for another 4 years. I am also going through home renovations and need the space. Make me an offer if you...

    2 Hairline Cracks in Windshield

I didn't preheat the car this particular morning. Having said that, I had packed down the snow into the lower windshield section the night before. I didn't properly brush my windshield and the wipers compacted the snow down low there. I had the wiper heaters on as a result to melt it while I was...

    2 Hairline Cracks in Windshield

Ok... super bizarre. I just woke to a huge crack in my windshield. I came to search if people had it in the past and didn't expect to see a similar result just from yesterday. I too checked my security cameras but it doesn't look like an impact crack to me either. Mine is a Model X though...

I guess this reward is still up in the air... or more literally... NOT up in the air... or space or whatever. I was really looking forward to this one as being unique, and not something I could do or buy on my own. Ironically... a Tesla hat for a referral wouldn’t have been a big deal but...

Modex X Inflatable Bed - Free in Toronto

Free to a good home. I bought an inflatable bed for a 6 seat Model X two years ago. I traded in for a 5-seater a few months later. It cost $99 CAD on Amazon but it's such a niche item. The bed is very unique and not useful for anything but the 6 seat Model X. I know it will be hard to sell...

    12V Accessory Circuit connection?

I just scanned through this thread and it seems to all deal with a power connection inside the car. I am playing with the idea of installing a power inverter in the frunk. I believe there is another fuse box located up there. Does anyone know if that is accurate? And it so, is there an empty...

I know this thread is long dead but it’s hilarious. Glide: I want to buy a mattress. Teslarosa: I have one for sale. Glide: Why are you telling me you have a mattress for sale? Also, too expensive. Also, you’re a jerk. Teslarosa:

Grinding sound under acceleration while heavily loaded

Are any other Model X owners experiencing a grinding noise under acceleration? This 2019 Model X is my second (previous was a 2016) and I am familiar with the long time shudder/clunking noise during acceleration. This is definitively not that sound. Definitely a grinding and only while the...

Can you buy cash first, then finance after?

If you buy the car for cash, that transaction is complete and won’t be reopened by any car dealer. To ‘finance’ a car you paid cash for, you can get a loan or line of credit from the bank. It won’t be favourable though. The best interest rates and incentives are always through the dealers...

    Tesla Dashcam destroying USB drives

My first device was a MicroSD card in a USB adapter. Since I could separate them, the memory card was fine and the USB adapter got fried. So, it wasn’t the read/write.

    Tesla Dashcam destroying USB drives

I have the official USB to lightning cable from Tesla (circa 2016) for the console. I moved that cable/mount from a 2016 Model X to my current 2019 when I traded leases. No problem charging the phone yet. Having said that, this car has been a lemon (compared to the 2016 which was flawless). I...

    Tesla Dashcam destroying USB drives

Hello, I suspect my Model X dash cam may be destroying USB drives in short order. I started with a MicroSD card in a mini-USB reader. It was something I had, was compact, and thought it would perform better than a USB stick. It worked for... let's say two weeks before the webcam icon would...

    Deep Sleep - Model X

I just traded from a 2016 Model X to a 2019. My new one is having all manner of app issues. Initially, most app functions worked but nothing that would unsecure the car. Meaning, opening the frunk, trunk, or unlocking doors did nothing. I never got an explanation but they fixed it after an hour...

Brand New Model X Tires in Toronto

I am selling a set of brand new tires for a Model X. They have never been used with manufacture stickers still attached. I had a 2016 Model X that needed new tires. I placed the order and eagerly awaited their arrival. Suddenly, Elon announces the return of unlimited supercharging on inventory...

Hello, Has anyone gotten information on how we submit our pictures that will be sent to space? Back in February 2019, my Tesla app 'loot box" said the photos needed to be uploaded by Feb 28. It did not provide any other information. I emailed Tesla directly and got (what I assume is) a form...

Any Regrets on Buying the 5 Seater

After 3 years with the six seater and approaching the end of a lease, I am going to ask the Tesla dealership to keep an eye out for a used five seat with supercharging. I’ll buy it in a second.

Usecase - analysis - no charger at home

I’ve been driving a Tesla since 2014 without a home charger. The reason I was initially able to take that chance was because I live within 5 minutes of a supercharger. I found the 8 or so hours overnight charging would take care of most of my daily driving. Once a week or so, I’d stop at the...

Dash cam on when parked? Necessary?

Mine doesn’t give me a choice (older model BlackVue). I depends on whether the 12v outlet will supply constant power (it did not in my 2014 MS but does in my 2016 MX). However, even with constant power, my camera switches into Parking Mode eventually and only records on detected vibration, or...

Power draw from accessories? 12v battery vs the big battery

What about items plugged into USB / 12v plug? The 12V plug in my 2014 Model S used to power down when I left the car. However, it is constantly powered in my 2016 Model X. Curious as to whether that is due to a difference in model years (eg. A 2016 MS would also power accessories full time) or...

    S or X? (Hypothetical)

I owned a MS for two years and traded to a MX (16-months in). I tell people to get the sedan unless they have a specific need for the X. In particular to seat 6/7 and the Falcon Doors (for pure ‘ooooh factor’ joy). The vehicles have the same drive train, and storage is about the same. The MS...

Road trip w/ trailer - Toronto, Wyoming (off road), Utah, Toronto

I exercised an overdose of caution. It was the remoteness of where I was that was a concern. If something went wrong, I would have had to use my bicycle to ride out at least 2-hours to get to a road and cell reception. I've had my 12V battery fail in a Model S leaving the car undrivable. That...

Road trip w/ trailer - Toronto, Wyoming (off road), Utah, Toronto

I'd probably cry for a little bit, ride my bike to where I got cellular reception, and then prepare my wallet for an expensive tow. If the car was un-towable. I suppose, I'd have to leave the car where it sat, take the rim into the nearest service center, order a new tire, and put it back on...

Audio lowers when doors are open, happened recently?

It was like this in my 2014 Model S and same when I traded to my 2016 Model X. So, ‘always’ as far as I know. It’s amazing what you don’t notice until you do.

    Acceleration Shudder

UGH. I had my shudder repaired under warranty after about 3-months of driving (circa Jan 2017). It was gone for 2-months and came back. Reading these messages then, I decided not to get another repair until it was solved by Tesla. Since that time, I've put a lot of miles on while towing a...

    Tires rubbing

Are you sure it’s the tire rubbing? Or is it more of a grinding noise? Sometimes local garages or tire installers won’t notice the wheels are staggered. Meaning, the front and back are different sizes. If the larger rear wheels are put on the front, your rims will grind and scratch. Best to fix...

    Supercharger question

Further to Bruce’s comment above about the chargers not being next to each other. My nearest superchargers are laid out as 1a 2a 3a 4a and then 1b 2b 3b 4b. So, the paired charger is actually four parking spots away. I can vouch for battery temp playing a role too. Here in Canada in winter, the...

    How to calculate saved emissions?

Hello, Does anyone know of an online calculator that can work out the positive benefits of miles driven in an EV? Specifically... I am putting together a business proposal and being 'green' is important to the client. I've driven a Tesla as my primary vehicle for 4 years now. That includes...

    Canadian Insurance

Intact Insurance here. My rates dropped surprisingly and substantially when I switched from a Volvo C30 to a Model S in 2014. Rates didn’t change much when I went from Model S to Model X in 2016. I am happy but haven’t had to make a claim yet. I’ll ditto the earlier comment about Intact...

    Phone Dock

I have an iPhone 8 plus with Otterbox uniVERSE case. I can’t use the included guide/rails AND needed a few extra millimeters for the lightning plug to reach. I took a knife and shaved down the cord on one side. This lets the lightning plug sit about 4mm higher. Works perfectly for me now.

Road trip w/ trailer - Toronto, Wyoming (off road), Utah, Toronto

That doesn't crank up. It is only a low, small trailer with 'roof racks.' The SylvanSport Go has an entire mechanism that cranks upwards. You can even load an ATV or Motorcycles in the "Go" model. The "easy" will hold some small boxes.

They are $10,000 USD ($13,500 Canadian) new. I paid $8,500 Canadian for a used one. If you are seeing new for $3,000, it is probably the "Sylvansport Go Easy." The 'easy' model is only a utility trailer. It has no tent option.

How did someone unplug me (Tesla plug)?

I did leave a note on my dash with my phone number if the car needs to be moved (or a charge). Maybe I should start another posting speculating "WHY" would someone unplug my car? (again, keeping in mind two empty chargers were available... in a town that sees one electric car every 3 weeks).

How did someone unplug me (Tesla plug)?

I am in Casper Wyoming. If Plugshare is any indicator, an electric car comes through here every 3 weeks. I also mentioned there were two other unused chargers. And finally... it takes like 6-hours to charge the car. What am I supposed to do other than leave it while I sleep?

How did someone unplug me (Tesla plug)?

If that's accurate, I have to be grateful that some stranger messed with my car enough to unplug it, but not enough to open the doors and steal something (or at least haven't noticed yet).

How did someone unplug me (Tesla plug)?

Hello All, I was charging last night at a hotel with a proper Tesla wall connector (not J1772). I confirmed a full charge via the app this morning. However, I noticed something odd in that the app provided the option to "Open Charge Port". I wondered how I could open the port when I was...

Road trip w/ trailer - Toronto, Wyoming (off road), Utah, Toronto

Well, I hate to say this but the drive from Toronto, Canada to Casper, Wyoming was uneventful. Elon Musk and Telsa have made Superchargers so abundant that this was a routine drive. The last time I attempted anything similar, there were still big gaps between Superchargers. That meant...

I am using the TT-30 right now... but that's really just to test the adapter. I could have paid $10 more and gotten a 50amp camp site. I have the TT-30 set to 24 amps and am getting 13km/hr of charge (8mi/hr).
