    Frunk-sized Hard Sided Cooler?

I use the frunk for my portable Weber Q1200 and the good old white Coleman cooler with wheels goes back into the trunk well where it fits snugly. Also bought a Beach cart for my trips to the OBX so the cooler will sit inside that, but now outside the trunk well. It's too large unless I...

My door handle is stuck -- What do I do?

Ok so the handle OTA fix is a fail. Apparently at Tesla they remotely see the three original handles, but the driver's handle is apparently unable to communicate. So I'm not getting around a complete replacement, which is a shame as this handle assembly is 14 months old and jeeeust out of...

My door handle is stuck -- What do I do?

Ok so that handle went bad again. I'm out of warranty so I followed RiverBrick's advice and went to Simon André Automobiles to get it repaired (also replaced both front upper ball joints as well) This handle is a new generation and the tech hadn't seen one of those yet. Basically the...

The ball joint was giving the typical squeeking noise when it's about to seize. It's an early warning. Then it will loosen up and become vertically loose. Then when the looseness also becomes horizontal, you better get it replaced fast or else prepare to replace a bunch of other parts, including...

What should I look for or ask when I go pick up my used 90D Tesla model S?

My personal experience is as long as you're covered with warranty, you should be fine and well covered with service, they will proactively replace whatever does not perform to spec. After your warranty is out, it seems Tesla Service sometimes may have difficulty shifting to another mentality...

90 and 75 battery packs getting nerfed early???

Case in point: I'm currently Supercharging at Drummondville SC (rated 120kW) and peaked briefly at 121kW but had a real nice peak maintained at up to 120kW for about 100km worth of range. Significant taper started earlier however, at around 45% SOC, below 100kW.

90 and 75 battery packs getting nerfed early???

I ordered it the day before the 90kWh pack was discontinued and chose a September delivery (delivered Sept 29) as I was not in a hurry to get it delivered. Turns out that was a good thing: In the meantime many options had been changed/repackaged: Air suspension became standard, leather seats...

90 and 75 battery packs getting nerfed early???

I have a V3 pack on my 90D and I'd say at least 30% of my total charging history is at SuCs and not only have I not experienced any throttling whatsoever, but yesterday at Magog SuC I peaked for a while at 115kW, something I had never seen before. I would *sometimes* briefly see a spike at...

Poor LED Performance - 1 Solution

Good point. The vents should be taped permanently. Just make sure not to close them up when the housing is full of humid air, then see them frost all up again! Relative humidity must be really low to avoid frosting at -20C (-5F). I am not a good tinkerer so I'll discuss this solution with my...

Yes they can. But in reality they will still need to invest almost as much R&D into their own EVs unless they carbon copy Tesla's products, which Tesla evidently would not allow to happen. My understanding is that "all our patents are belong to you" is to help motivate and accelerate legacy...

I disagree. You don't necessarily throw away an ICE car that hasn't reached the end of its shelf life. But you don't buy another ICE car either once you've understood. So the demand for a legacy ICE car remains at 0. The purchase of an EV is delayed to an opportune time. But the demand is still...
