Anyone received a VIN with 19” wheels?

Want me to throw in my star-sign and inside leg measurement too? :D Black interior, line waiter, 1 May, Cash, 42XXXX VIN, no final invoice.

Anyone received a VIN with 19” wheels?

Pearl white, no FSD. I have an early reservation and a <200 invoice number, so would hope that’s helped. I’ve now had it confirmed by Tesla that I’ve been allocated a VIN. It’s a bit strange that they’re no longer offering the 19’s - I read somewhere that they are supply constrained, or it...

Anyone received a VIN with 19” wheels?

I have a VIN in the source code and have been told to expect delivery w/b 19th August. SR+ with the 19’s.

    Model 3 Premium Connectivity

I’d be interested in knowing this too - O2 was the UK carrier a few years ago, but not sure if this has changed. Roaming SIM’s would be ideal for coverage but from what I understand would be much more expensive (even just loading map tiles and music streaming).

    latest (July) Tesla price changes

Yes, this does seem strange. The price is now 39990 (excluding grant and delivery fee), but if the delivery fee counts towards the tax cutoff then it’s still over the threshold.

    latest (July) Tesla price changes

Just spoke to Tesla - they are adjusting prices for existing orders that are affected by the price changes, and a revised order agreement will appear in Tesla accounts. Confirmed the price for my Pearl White SR+ will be updated to today’s prices. Very happy with this. Was intending to cancel...

There's a chance this was correct - Tesla Carriers Not sure I believe it, but it would be great news...... edit - he meant to say *East* or South coast.

    Change to SR+ Price?

Does anybody else now have "Direct Delivery Cost" as being next to the £850 which used to "Delivery and Doc fee" on their new Order Agreement? "Direct Delivery" makes it sounds as if the car will be delivered to my house. Which would be dope.

UK Model 3 order page open!

For anybody else looking into insurance for the Model 3, DirectLine are now able to give online quotes. They still have the banner at the top of the page saying they are still working on it, but I was able to go through the whole process and get a quote for a M3 SR+. Pretty decent quote too. :)

UK Model 3 order page open!

Interesting - the order page still says June for new orders; they really should update if thats not accurate. Kind of off-topic: has anybody with a pending order had any joy logging into the app? I was able to for a few days after ordering, but it now says “there are no products linked to your...

Elon: Model 3 UK orders start “in a few weeks”

The SR+ should start at ~£40k based on prices in mainland Europe. Keep in mind that the “Purchase Price” in the online configurator already includes the £3.5k government incentive. Whether the SR+ will be available to order next week is of interest to me as well as that’s the car I intend to...

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

Am at the Perth site just now, and they are currently wiring in the stalls, all 12 of which have the dual cables (type 2 and CCS). The groundwork and substation were finished several weeks ago, but it now looks as if this site will be open very soon.
  19. smythey

UK configurator opening in two months (maybe)

I actually think this is plausible based on a couple of things: Tesla have stated publicly that they are running out of people who want to buy the Long Range PAWD and AWD cars, and they really want to exhaust that market first because of the higher margins. RHD markets are one of the last...

P3D / AWD get EPA Ratings! Is AWD worth it?

Tesla asked the EPA to reduce the rated range of the LR RWD to 310 miles. It was actually tested by the EPA to be above 330.
  21. smythey

    Mistake ordering 19” wheels?

You could get the Sport wheels with the car, and then get the Aero wheel winter set. I’ve run two sets of wheels for a decade and am never going back to using summer/all seasons in the winter. Nothing beats proper winter tyres. Also, it means not having to choose; you get to have both sets of...

Elon says AWD and Perf orders start at end of next week!

That would be incredibly damaging to Tesla, and I don’t see it happening. The base model was never really $35k anyway; the mandatory doc fee makes it $36k.
  23. smythey

Elon says AWD and Perf orders start at end of next week!

“Even if you buy no options at all, this will still be an amazing car”. I sure hope so, because at these prices I can’t afford any! :D
  24. smythey

Elon says AWD and Perf orders start at end of next week!

I think bait and switch is a bit strong, but I agree that the AWD cost is disappointing based on expectations already set by Elon. They know the market, and are obviously confident they can charge S/X prices for options and people will still buy. I can’t help but think this will come to bite...

Model 3 Right Hand Drive and UK

Me too. At this stage, I have no expectation of getting my car in Early 2019. I think it’s 50/50 whether it’ll be in 2019 at all. 2018 is about North America. 2019 is about LHD cars to the rest of the world. RHD cars after that (whenever that ends up being). All this means a long wait for us...

    Wiki Model 3 delivery estimator

Interesting that the production timeline is different on the US and UK versions of the website. US site says 2018 for international deliveries; UK site says 2019. (Both say 2019 for the UK RHD car)

Exactly How Strong is the Regen?

Absolutely. One of the many reasons why the AWD M3 is the one to get. Regen should be a fair bit stronger.

    Energy Consumption On Model 3?

An Electrek article from July noted that the Tesla website briefly contained reference to the Model 3 efficiency in the mileage estimator. The efficiency rating was 237 wh/m, and I assume this is best case scenario (smaller battery and aero wheels).

Thoughts on EAP for the 3

I don’t plan to get EAP on my 3; it’s simply too expensive and not something that’s essential. I plan to get the standard battery, so another £4.5k makes a big difference to the overall cost. I’ve had the chance to spend a few days with both AP1 & AP2 cars, and came away fairly unimpressed...

It's alive! [All spoiler, no speculation]

The 400v is when the battery is fully charged, and around 350v when it is half discharged (therefor the nominal voltage). Probably better to use nominal voltage when calculating supercharger rates because when the battery is 50% charged the cells can take a lot of current, whereas near 100%...

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

I don't plan to. My priorities are metallic paint, AWD, 19" wheels, in that order. EAP is way down the list. I had the opportunity to use a Model S with EAP a month ago and came away pretty non-plussed; likewise with TACC, although possibly because I just wasn't use to it. I'm sure autopilot...

Elon confirms RHD Model 3 won't be ready until June 2018

Elon was asked when they would be on the road in the UK, and I assume that's what his response referred to. Summer 2018 was about when I expected anyway, so I'm not disappointed in this news. More time to save!

The comment was made specifically in the context of the Bolt, although it was before the 238 mile range announcement. I do still think the base battery will be 55 or 50 kwh, and will achieve 240 miles (250 with dual motor variant).

When reading this article about the Bolt, I saw that Fortune are reporting that Autosteer will come as standard on the 3. I'm sure part of the information after the reveal in April said this would be an optional extra. Thoughts?

    Second Reveal Date

The original reservation agreement (dated 16 March) stated you would be allowed to defer and relinquish your reservation position once. This document has since been replaced by the "Terms and Conditions" currently on Teslas website, which interestingly makes no mention of the deferral option.

You pre-ordered a Tesla Model III, so what, do you have a Plug?

What kind of mileage do you do? I don't have the ability to charge at home at the moment either, but could get by just fine using public charge points if a Tesla suddenly came into my life. In 2 years there will be many, many more charge points scattered about. The upside to this excruciating...

    Air cooled battery modules

Not all losses will be heat, and the heat generated will also be in areas other than the battery cells (eg - in the supercharger cable itself). The author of the article estimates that 2% of the charging energy is converted to heat within the cells.
