    Firmware 8.0

THIS. Listening to music used to be so enjoyable. Now I just get frustrated trying to get to an album. Heck it's not safe anymore because I'm fiddling with the screen. So bad.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

Sorry to report that they did nothing to fix the loose seat. According to them it's "normal". Quite disappointed.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

Got the call that my car will be ready to pick up tomorrow. They said the seat was "about the same" as other cars built around the same time (as if that makes me feel better). They said they torqued some bolts. We will see tomorrow if it actually helps.

    2.24.102 and Touch Screen Malfunction

Just today the SC told me the repeated "touchscreen failure" messages were due to me having a USB thumb drive attached. Such BS. Seriously? For a high tech company who sells a lot of cars to engineers, I'm shocked at these responses that basically assume we are idiots.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

With my car, it wasn't just a subtle rocking but a small hitch where the seat slide back or forward on the rails.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

Dropped my S off at the service center on Thursday for a seat replacement. We will see if the new one is any better.

    License Plate Karma

Mine is SXE which my wife thinks is hilarious. I think it's fitting for the car, and I've seen at least one other model S locally from the same batch.

    Problems with new HPWC

The first time this occurred I didn't try to reset before they replaced it. This next time I reset the HPWC and it's worked fine for a couple of days. It's an ok workaround but something isn't right if it's this easy to throw the "hardware failure" LED.

    Problems with new HPWC

Hi all, Our 90D was delivered in late March just as the new HPWC was announced. We were the first install of the new HPWC for our local electric company (who installs many Tesla setups here in the Bay Area). They installed a new 200A panel and ran 40A to the front of the house where the HPWC...

    Newer car reliability poll (2015-2016)

March 2016 delivery. There's a very rare vibration/rattle from the dash area, but not bad enough to hear over my music so not worth a visit. One single visit so far because the drivers' seat is loose. There's a noticeable hitch when driving on bumpy roads or over speed bumps. I have a...

    Highest density of Model S's?

The SF bay area is super dense with Model S. In early April I went out to run errands in my 1 week old Model S. Just in the ~15 mile radius around my house I spotted 5 other new (no license plate yet) Model S and a bunch of other not-so-new ones. The new ones were probably like mine, rushed...

With New Console, How Much Room for USB Drive and Angle Connector?

Not sure why someone rated my previous post dislike, but I'd be happy to show you my setup. I'll start by saying I'm pretty horrible at explaining things and I probably should have taken more pictures and included arrows. Let me which parts aren't clear and I'll clarify. First, the parts I...

With New Console, How Much Room for USB Drive and Angle Connector?

Initially yes, the 256gb drive takes a while for what I assume is cacheing. But that's just once and it's probably 10 minutes or so. Otherwise it's not like I have to wait for my music to resume when I get in the car.

With New Console, How Much Room for USB Drive and Angle Connector?

I have the new console and routed a left angle 40" USB extension cable down through the access hole and the under the rubber under the cup holders. It comes up at the front end of the console, way up where I really can't reach anyway. I then plugged a 256gb USB drive and it sits up there...

Mine is the same. Where do I look for the label?

    Seat Rocking (Next Gen Seats)

Mine feels less like rocking and more like verticals play that feels loose when accelerating or hitting small bumps in the road. Car is less than 1 month old. Plan to talk to SC about this.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

I have. I have also considered the hassle and long lead time after scheduling an appointment, which prompted this thread just in case there was an easier way.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

I can reproduce to a lesser extent by pushing on the dash while the car is stationary. I guess I'm just curious if this is a common thing or not, and possibly if others had an easy fix or experience with the SC addressing it.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

Pretty new model S delivered at the end of March 2016 with next gen seats. For the most part I don't notice this, but occasionally when quickly accelerating or on rough roads the drivers seat feels just a tad loose. As in not firm and planted but my butt/seat has a little hitch. Anyone else...

Problems adding new 72A charger to existing order

There's an easy solution for Tesla here. Take the $2000 you paid for the dual charger upgrade and apply it to the new car as a $500 change fee plus $1500 new 72A upgrade. Sure it's not exactly what you ordered but this path would seem to make both sides happy financially. I get the sense...

    Center console now standard

One piece with arm rest. I'm pretty happy with it though. Found a USB extension cable with left angle plug that easily routed through the available routing hole, under the cup holders and pops up nice and out-of-sight near the back of the console. I plugged in a 256 GB memory stick to create...

    Center console now standard

I took delivery at the end of March and was surprised with the new console. It would be odd for them to ship some cars with the console, then later revert to no console. I would bet that all Model S built in April will include the new center console.

No dice. Unless it's like one of those bookshelves in movies where you have to press in just the right place to open the hidden door, there are no rear cupholders in this location.

    New Center Console notice email

Picked up my 90D today. It came with the new center console which is pretty cool. I see no rear seat accessible cup holders anywhere. Here's what I got - 2 USB ports in the usual spot, but no phone charging HW to be found. Oh wait, what this? 2 little bags in the front compartment under the...

    Center console now standard

Using an overlay image could signal that this will be a future option and not free. At least it means they are considering letting you add/remove it.
  32. cochese

    Center console now standard

If you look closely, it appears to be integrated with the armrest as a single piece. This would prevent easy removal.

    Center console now standard

Looking in the design center, looks like the center console is now standard. No mention of it other than the updated image. Looks like no option to *not* have it. I just confirmed and am happy either way. If they include it on my car, that's cool. If not, I'll still be happy.

Interesting conversation I had with Tesla rep about model S pricing going up in April

So if I wanted to order a Model S now, what's the best strategy to get in before prices go up, but still have the option to get any new features that are announced on 3/31?
