Model 3 Trunk with Rear Seats Folded Down

Cool, if only it was a hatchback... Wait, if the glass roof prevented a hatchback, why can the car have a hatchback if you get the metal roof?
  2. F

Model 3 in 2018 or wait until early 2019 for Model Y?

I'll probably cancel my reservation and hope the Y is the car I wanted, I was extremely disappointed by what the 3 turned out to be...

Model 3 Dashboard... What are we looking at?

Am I the only one who absolutely hates that wood trim? It makes the dashboard look like an office desk with a steering wheel attached....
  4. F

    What if no Model 3?

I would most likely end up buying an ICE, I would consider a Hybrid or plugin, but only if the price is right and if it isn't a prius.

    Model 3 Reality Check.

Awesome comparison, but to be fair the glass roof on the 3 probably won't be standard, which might make the sunroof also an option...

    Adjustable Sun Visors?

I doubt it will have any, remember you are not meant to drive it.
  7. F

What would make you cancel your Model 3 Reservation?

I agree, most people can tell the difference in speeds, unfortunately as far as I know, it's illegal in the US to drive a car without a speedometer, which is my concern if something were to happen to the single display that pretty much controls everything. Sure, it's very unlikely that the main...

What would make you cancel your Model 3 Reservation?

I'm perfectly fine with the minimalist interior, but the hovering screen bothers me, a lot. I'm also, very skeptical of the single screen for all data output/input. The way I see it, if you don't get autonomy driving you get half a car, if the screen freezes/breaks/gets stolen (this is probably...

Probability of Autopilot becoming standard when Model 3 ships?

This is the main reason I'm losing hope in the 3. The car is being built for full autonomy, but full autonomy won't be out this year, it might be out next year... maybe. Also, if the 3 follows current pricing, full autonomy might be an extra $8k, so an autonomous 3 will be $43k, not $35k; which...

If it all goes wrong, what will we buy?

I might just buy a cheap ICE to pass the time, until the Y or another non ecobox EV comes out.

Did Tesla lose focus by making the Model 3 an autonomous car instead of a great EV?

True, but I honestly don't think Tesla is in the position to be doing trial and error, since they have finally gotten to the point in which they can take on the big boys on the block. Tesla can easily be crushed by their own weight if they make a big mistake, they aren't GM or VW who can just...

Did Tesla lose focus by making the Model 3 an autonomous car instead of a great EV?

I agree with the idea that Tesla is moving towards an autonomous future, but I honestly think only the 3 will embody that idea. That's, the 3 will be (at some point in time) autonomous, but the 3 will be the only Tesla with the ultra plain interior, since the 3 was designed to be a taxi, just...

Elon Tweet: No 'significantly new consumer-facing technology' in Model 3

I really hope I'm over reacting, but... Ever since I put down a deposit, I never expected to get a fully loaded S for half the cost, I expected a basic version of an entry level S (with the ability to upgrade its components as long as I was willing to pay the premium), not a lesser car. I know...

Poll: Have you changed your mind?

I want AWD, so I'm not getting mine until probably mid 2018, so that means no tax credit... I might delay configuration if I feel there is no point to getting the car soon. But my number one priority is the cost of the options, this is the true deal breaker.
  15. F

    Loaded cars produced first...

Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about this. I want/need AWD, but that will push my order well into next year, which might make me miss the rebate, BUT I'll have more time to save up and maybe push for a P, also by the time I get my car most glitches and bugs will have been dealt with...

    Matte black paint thoughts

I have never been fond of matte paint, since here in LA, you would only see that style on civics and 8 passengers vans. Driving a matte car (specially a civic) in a nice neighborhood, was like asking the police to stop you every block; because of this, matte cars around here were viewed as...
  17. F

What kind of options/upgrades are you considering and why?

My priorities were battery, dual motor and AP. I was also thinking of pushing my budget slightly more to get some luxury options. Yet, after think for a while, I truly want full autonomy, yet the software isn't ready nor are regulations... So I might just get a bare bones 3 and save my money...

How Many People Have You Convinced to Reserve Model 3 (☰)...?

0 The top 3 reason are: $35+ is too expensive. The batteries are designed to die after 5 years (no idea where they got this one from...). Will not get the car in time to apply for the tax credit. It's very hard to educate people when they believe everything they see on YouTube. But, I...

Attempting to price out options for Model 3 (Part 2!)

Maybe, a few of us are getting a bigger battery because we are renters, the bigger battery is for peace of mind. Fast supercharging means nothing to me since I don't do trip, but if you are talking about ultra fast destination chargers, I will definitely we interested.
  20. F

Attempting to price out options for Model 3 (Part 2!)

Ah, car options the bane of my existence. The options' cost will determine my ability/willingness to buy the 3. Sure at 35k,the 3 will be amazing, but at that price I could buy a fully loaded ICE or hybrid...

How many are going to pass on the Enhanced Autopilot and Full Service Driving

Quite often, I tend to forget this. There is a joy of driving , but sometimes you just want to be the passenger, this to me is where APv2 excels .

How many are going to pass on the Enhanced Autopilot and Full Service Driving

I live in Los Angeles, here freeways and main avenues are parking lots during rush hours, APv2 would make my life better. Yet 8k is a lot, I will try my best to get at least Enhanced AP, but it all depends on how much the other options will cost. If I do get it, I'll probably buy it later...

    Test drive before purchase?

I want to say I highly doubt they will let us test drive, yet as stated above it could be feasible for Tesla to make a few 3 for test driving. Honestly I don't need a test drive , I know the car will be great (probably a lot of the 119k people who reserved without seeing the car will agree...
  25. F

    AP2 Pricing

I don't really mind pay $8k, but the $2k premium for activating it later is killing me, 25% increase is nuts. On a side note, if I choose to purchase Enhanced AP for $5k, but later I want to upgrade to Autonomous, I will pay $5k ($3k for Autonomous software plus $2k upgrade fee), not $10k right?
  26. F

No further part 2 reveal for Model 3

That would be cool, but also illegal. You can't have a self driving car on the road without a human on the driver's seat. Nice avatar.

Model 3 Average Selling Price Predictions

Thanks for the analysis. Now imagine if a fully loaded 3 is less than $82k (which I doubt), time will tell.

    Oct. 17 - Model 3 Reveal Pt. 2?

I highly doubt it will have anything to do with the 3 or AP. I'm still putting my money on Tesla van/truck or Tesla Y.

Tesla Model 3: Prices, specs and release date

I really think the event on the 17th has nothing to do with the 3. Elon wrote product "unveiling", which tells me it's something new and the "unexpected by most" hints it's something people have not talked about. So I'm calling Tesla van/truck or Tesla Y.

This Part of the Secret Master Plan is working

Why do they all look like crap? If the Renault Trezor was black I might be able to claim it was the batmobile. The article was decent, but this part made me laughed: "Extending an electric car’s range has been G.M.’s goal since the demise of its ill-fated EV1..."
  31. F

Model 3 Cockpit Similar to LeEco LeSee

I want believe, but logic tells me the 3 will only have level 3 autonomy (highways and streets); it won't be until the Tesla 4 when we finally get full autonomy. We'll find out by the end of the year when Tesla does it's APv2 unveiled.

    Breakdown of types of reservations

I want to believe, but I truly think Tesla is just going deliver ☰s for employees in 2017. The ☰ is going to make or break Tesla, so they have to make the launch a success; Tesla can't afford to have the same problem they had with the X at the scale of the ☰. Yet, Elon might prove me wrong, I...

    Wiki Model 3 delivery estimator

Wait, is delivery location the same as reservation location? Fairly sure some people drove to CA to reserve, but intend to receive the car in their home state... This might affect the delivery date too, you reserved in CA, but live in AZ.
  34. F

Could the Model 3 be the last car you buy?

No way the car will last more than 50 years, even if it can I don't see myself using the same car for more than 10 years. To me, Tesla is a tech company not a car company, therefore the car is a computer and no one keeps their computer for 10 years. I'll rather enjoy the car for a good ~5...

    Second Reveal Date

Elon is saying Tesla has to show positive cash flow by the Q4 2016, since after that they will start investing into model 3 production and to do that they need money from investors, who won't invest into Tesla if they continue to "lose" money. It doesn't mean the actual production starts after...

[Poll] Would you take a Bolt over an M3 in these situations?

Without the EV credit both cars cost about the same, but they are not the same. To me a Bolt is like a Civic, while a Tesla is BMW; why would I buy a regular car at the price point of a luxury car?
  37. F

    Battery Pack Costs

I find it hilarious that GM probably doesn't care about battery cost nor needs the Bolt to be profitable. Meanwhile, Tesla needs to lower battery cost and be profitable to remain afloat, pressure makes people and businesses do the impossible. I'm really looking forward to seeing how things...
  38. F

Bolt EV EPA range = 238 miles combined!

Do I dislike how GM does business? Yes Do I want the Bolt to succeed? Yes Why? Better Bolt means more competition, competition is what Tesla wants, a competitive EV will cause a even better Model 3. So thank you GM for spending millions on making the Bolt a good EV, but I'm still buying a...

    autopilot 8.0 - 8.1

True, I wouldn't be able to make aircrafts, nuclear bombs and iPhones, but my knowledge of physics, chemistry, medicine, etc would certainly make a wizard.
  41. F

    autopilot 8.0 - 8.1

Well Elon has confirmed that at some point in his life, he was an alien, therefore it's natural for Tesla to have highly advanced technology.
  42. F

    Model 3 wave

I guess it depends where you live, but here in LA, it will definitely look like a gang sign.
  43. F

    autopilot 8.0 - 8.1

Thanks for the link, I had no idea what the OP was talking about. "... the car should almost always hit the brakes correctly even if a UFO were to land on the freeway in zero visibility conditions." "The car in front might hit the UFO in dense fog, but the Tesla will not." I got two important...

When will Model 3 deliveries commence for Australia?

Not sure, but it will greatly depend on how fast they can deliver cars in the US, as the EV credit will begin to end at around early 2018. After that Canadian deliveries will probably be next.

Fund a big percent of your M3 purchase by buying Tesla Stock

If I remember correctly, Elon stated he wanted/needed to show at least some positive cash flow for the third quarter, since Tesla was going to need a capital raise in the fourth quarter. Yet, he said that prior to the SC deal...

Sub 3 seconds for Model 3 DL

I just realized 18 months is a long time from now, and Tesla promised at least 215 miles for the base model. By the time they start production, the GF will reduce cost and increase battery density, so a base model might be close to 250 miles lol
  47. F

Fund a big percent of your M3 purchase by buying Tesla Stock

I have some of my Model 3 money in TSLA, yet I don't want to put all my eggs in a single basket, specially if I can cash out on other, less volatile, stocks.
  48. F

Would you be willing to buy your M≡ options now?

As much as I trust Elon, I want more information before I can decide whether or not the car is right for me.
  49. F

Attempting to price out options for Model 3

Well it only took 15 pages, but it seems we are finally getting somewhere.
  50. F

    Instead of waiting would you?

I currently don't need a car, but I'll need it by around the time the 三 comes out. So meanwhile I'm saving my money for the car.
