    Raleigh Sales/Service Center

I'm hoping this happens sooner rather than later. Was just there yesterday and the service I received was downhill from what it has been. So many people and cars, no walk through of the car before handing them the key, plus they ended up scratching my dash (which they were supposed to replace...

Curb rash repair near Raleigh, NC?

I second this recommendation! I scraped my rim at a bank on Sunday. I found this post and texted Isaac that night. He was able to come out on Wednesday. He charges $80 per wheel now and couldn't have been nicer. His work is also just fantastic, I can't even tell which part of the rim had...

Model 3: My car is in the shop on day 2

Does anyone know if you click on the regen message if it gives any information on why it’s displaying? I ran into this the first few days of ownership with my Model 3 and thought something was wrong with the car until I searched in the manual and saw an explanation for the message. Wish the...

Model 3 first impressions and small issues: 3 weeks in

Thanks! Yeah....it’s a bit absurd. But, at this point, not sure if I have any other options. Plus I’ve alredy got some scratches on the hood, not as bad as these though. So, I’m past the first scratch phase and just feel meh about about the body shop work. VIN is 94**

Model 3 first impressions and small issues: 3 weeks in

Well it’s been 3 weeks since getting the car and in case anyone wanted to hear what it’s like owning a Model 3 from another first-time Tesla owner, here we go: • First, I love pretty much everything about this car. It’s surreal when you get it, it almost felt like it still wasn’t mine, like...

    Issues with 110v gfic outlets

You were right, switching out the GFCI outlet did the trick. The electrons are now flowing! Still no clue about my work chargers. Haven’t been able to grab a charger this week to further investigate.

Home Charging Issue w/Gen 2 UMC

Same issue, I’ve tried multiple GFIC circuits at different locations and they all eventually trip. Another Model 3 was parked next to me at work and both their circuit and mine tripped. We both were using the Gen 2 UMC.

    Issues with 110v gfic outlets

Thanks for the reply. It’s a GFIC circuit. I shudder every time I hear the sound of that button popping up . Have a service appointment for Friday and I’ll be sure and keep you all updated. I may ask if I could borrow a gen 1 charger from them to see if that fixes my issue. Then it...

    Issues with 110v gfic outlets

The Model 3 at work was on a completely different outlet. I’m not positive if the outlets are all on one circuit or not, but it’s perplexig that we have a Model S that can charge with no issues but the Model 3s seem to have issues and trip the outlet. Is there a way to tell a gfic from afci by...

    Issues with 110v gfic outlets

I’ve been noticing issues when charging my model 3 with a 110v gfic outlet. I have an outlet in my garage and the model 3 trips the outlet just when it ramps up to 3 amps. I though it was an issue with the outlet and the wiring, but other heavy appliances work on it like my vacuum cleaner...

    HEPA/Biodefense in Model 3?

^THIS!! I just got my Model 3 last week and have been amazed with the quality of the air filtration. I'm coming from a Honda Accord where I had recirculated on pretty much 100% of the time so I wouldn't smell the exhaust fumes of other vehicles. It drives me crazy!! I didn't even realize...

Yep, was able to add before delivery.

Did you talk to your Tesla sales rep to make the change or the employees at your Tesla store?

Already left an email and voicemail for my Tesla sales rep this morning. I’ll update once I know more.

Can you buy EAP after configuration but before delivery?

I idiotically thought the added interest of getting EAP in my loan would be worse than the 1k hit you take when buying EAP after delivery. Welp, redid my math there and realized for my situation it’s better to get EAP at 5k and not 6k. I’ve already configured the car but I don’t take...

Not getting paint protection film for your Model 3?

You’re right, I was leaning towards not getting it and now after reading through all the comments and getting a good night’s sleep, I’m gonna save my money. I’ll just make sure I keep the car clean and shiny. I typically enjoy washing and waxing my car now anyways. For me, I think more...

Not getting paint protection film for your Model 3?

I’m really on the fence on getting paint protection for my Model 3. On the one hand I want the car to stay nice and look good. I’m worried about that front no-grill area being a rock magnet. On the other hand, it’s a depreciating asset that I don’t want to sink any more money into than I have...

    No recent VIN assignments?

Most of them don’t work weekends from what I recall. So if my car gets to Alabama SE distribution center next weekend, my delivery specialist wouldn’t contact me about it till the following Monday.

What documents are needed to be uploaded to complete order?

Also would point out that your name needs to appear on the insurance card. I was under my parent’s insurance so for my case, my name didn’t appear on my current insurance card. I uploaded the insurance card for the policy I purchased for the 3 once I got a VIN.

    No recent VIN assignments?

Update: Got a call from a Tesla delivery service rep today. My Model 3 is finished with production and being placed on rail to be delivered to distribution center in Alabama. From there it'll be delivered by truck to the Raleigh Service Center. They said it can take anywhere from 10-15...

    Auto Pilot - EAP

I’m betting that Tesla will either lower the cost of EAP or will do something to break out the lane keep assist and TACC from a more updated Autopilot system in the next year or two. A 5k option for TACC and lane keep assist seems way too expensive on a 35k vehicle, at least to me. If I’m...

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

If I remember correctly, Elon stated in a quarterly update call a while back that Tesla will have the ability to insource production for any part if a supplier falls behind or can't deliver (at least for the Model 3 program). If the rumors are true and this whole situation stems from a...

    Updated Delivery Estimate

#40 in line on 3/31, Raleigh NC, non tesla owner. My delivery estimate window was only bumped by a month to December-Feb. I’m still planning on March, but if it’s eariler than that, great. Highly doubt it’ll be December.

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

I just test drove a Autopilot Hardware 2 Model S today and while I do really like EAP, I can't justify the $5,000 cost at the moment. I'm already stretching to get the Long Range battery and Premium Upgrads Package. So, when I get EAP, it'll be sometime after I take delivery of the car. I...

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

I've noticed a lot of people have commented on here that they're waiting for the price of EAP to go down. How realistic is that? I was originally thinking the same thing: Enable it when I really need it for a long road trip or something and save the 5k up front but idk how much the price on...

Here is why I'm getting the bare bones 35k T3

I've been thinking about this all day. I can't decide if longer range is more important than having autopilot. I want the premium option package for the glass roof, adjustable seats and of corse, the folding mirrors. Don't know why I like the folding mirrors so much, but every time I see them...

Is this a valid concern? Charge Port

Yeah, it looks unfinished. The whole color LED ring thing is one of those cool features that distinguishes Tesla as a brand. I'd be surprised if there wasn't some sort of color indicator on the charge port when the car is released. I

    Model 3 RC sightings

In this light the silver looks closer to the silver alpha Motor Trend shot last summer. Way nicer looking than some of the eariler silver RC pics. Crap, now I think I'm back on team silver. I keep bouncing back and forth between blue, white and silver. Choosing the color for my 3 is going to...

Tesla Model 3 vs Model S comparison slides

We've already seen 5 colors for the Model 3 RCs (white, black, red, blue and silver). Also AWD doesn't start till next year, so that won't be available as a configuration at launch either. I'm guessing it'll be 5 paint, 2 battery options, 3 wheels (upgraded design on either 18" or 20" size)...

    So...What is cool Elon?

For reference: Elon Musk on Twitter Elon Musk on Twitter I'm still hoping they send the people who waited in line a die cast model of the Model 3. How cool would that be?!:)

Tesla Model 3 vs Model S comparison slides

Yeah, I know they're doing a good job of it when every time I see something more about the 3 vs S I just sigh and wish I had more money to buy an S. It'll be better when they switch gears and get us reservation holders more pumped up again. Also, when you consider the cost savings of...

Can't! Decide! Which color are you getting?

I was so deadset on getting silver, but after seeing the silver RC cars, I'm liking the white color better. But than some days I want the blue...ugh...if I only I had an absurd amount of money and a more excessive personality to just buy all three colors. This color decision is driving me...

Can't! Decide! Which color are you getting?

I don't think it was a matte coat, but I too notice a difference. I was so sure I was going to get the grey color that was on the alphas. Now I think I'm going pearl white. I've always loved that color anyways. It looks so pretty and sleek with the daytime running lights!

    Model 3 Mule Sightings

Anyone know if we've seen these type of wheels in a smaller size? I'm guessing these will be the upgrade from the other design we've seen which seems to be smaller. I'm just wondering if Tesla will allow us to upgrade to this design but keep the rims at 18 vs 20.

Prediction: Model S Standard Features Base Model 3 Might Not Have

However, the whole point of having the Model S and X was to pay for the Model 3. So of course they made everyone check the box for some things that probably could have been standard. Just because Tesla decided this was the best strategy for the S and the X doesn't necessarily mean they'll do...

Prediction: Model S Standard Features Base Model 3 Might Not Have

Yeah, I thought about that a lot. It's sort of like the problem a lot of people have with Apple products. You pay way more and get less in terms of specs and features compared to competing products. You're really paying for the brand and design, which is very similar to BMW's model. The...

Prediction: Model S Standard Features Base Model 3 Might Not Have

Heated power seats are pretty standard at this price level, doesn't matter if people live in FL or not. Take the top of the line 2017 Honda Accord Touring v6, which is priced right at $35,000. Here are some of the features it comes with: •Navigation system •Lane keep assist •Adaptive...

Prediction: Model S Standard Features Base Model 3 Might Not Have

Since this is just rampant speculation at this point, here are my guesses: 1) Turn By turn Navigation Yes, included. 2) Power liftgate Maybe automatic trunk open as an option? 3) Power Folding mirrors Option. Model 3 owners club said on one of their YouTube episodes this was confirmed on...

    Model 3 Mule Sightings

I'm so glad they didn't change the headlights. The daytime running lights are one of the coolest parts of the 3, in my opinion. They're so different from most of the ones you see on cars nowadays. The thing just looks mean. Love the headlights with the blue color, and the turn signal light...
