Software Version 9/10 for Non-AP/Classic Cars

Did he give you any details? I'm looking at a 2015 CPO and am curious about any autopilot updates.

How's your battery doing at 175k? How much degradation have you seen?

    2013 P85, 60K miles, 238 max range?

Cycling helps to balance the pack. Each little cell charges and discharges at different rates. Going to 100% let's each cell get fully charged so you have true full capacity of the pack. If you only change to 80% some cells will be at lower voltages and will reach "empty" first. This results...

Tesla Whistleblower releases VINs with alleged punctured battery cells - Who's got a 3 on the list?

Umm I'm pretty sure that a lithium ion cell will short and vent hot gass/fire if punctured. Maybe some time they won't but hundreds maybe thousands? Absolutely. I smell BS.

LOTS of Model threes being delivered

Hopefully ICE service centers will be very rare in the future.

LOTS of Model threes being delivered

I am getting nervous about the service situation. This is the next dangers zone for Tesla I think. I wish that someone had asked a question about service centers and mobile service investments during the earnings call. I can see it now, reports start coming in about long wait times and the...

Model 3 set to dominate it's category as early as next month

Lets not forget that Porsche workers are agreeing to forgo raises to help finance the build out for the Taycan(sp?) and basically stated that building BEV's is not as easy as they thought. The IPace announced delays as well. This throws some cold water on the "Tesla is in for it when legacies...

Got my configuration Email. Need advice

Nice! I will order soon. A few months of double payments will be ok. The kids say they will miss the Leaf. It will give them time to adjust, lol.

Of course. Just asking to see if there was something I hadn't thought of.

Got my configuration Email. Need advice

Nope, you are way off. Where did I say I made a decision? I am not willing to lose the 7500. Just looking for some input to see if there was something I hadn't thought of.

I didn't say I just got it. I've had it and been sitting on it.

Got my configuration Email. Need advice

Thanks for the comments. I think I will order in Aug and deal with a month or two overlap if necessary.

Got my configuration Email. Need advice

Thanks for the responces. My payment is 350. Not a huge deal but it would be nice not to overlap. I think I will just order in Sept. Or Oct. And cross my fingers. Anyone have any experience turning in a lease early without paying a bunch of money? I know it's unlikely.

I also want to help Tesla out with an order asap and make sure I get the $7500

Got my configuration Email. Need advice

So I have a situation and need some advice. I have a Leaf and the lease is up in November. I got my configuration Email but I don't want to order right away because I would like to avoid having two payments. I tried calling Tesla to see when I might order to get a November delivery but the...

A guy ran a red light and....

I was waiting not a situation where I would have been on autopilot but maybe AEB or an aural warning. Anyway, yes I agree, time to read myself! That payment at 50k stings tho

A guy ran a red light and....

i usually do check. This time I did not of course. In this case I'm not sure I would have seen him Initially there were no cars stopped at the light, they were all a distance away. He was the first through. The other cars were coming to a stop after the impact. I checked the rearview...

A guy ran a red light and....

Interesting, thanks for that info. My right front bumper/headlight and his front left wheel and fender were the main impact area. I was still in the turn, which was a sweeping turn rather than 90°. He came from behind on the right, in the lane I was going into, at full speed, never breaking...

A guy ran a red light and....

I was thinking that a side camera would have detected a high convergence rate and made a warning well before our planes crossed. Even if it was not well before I could have slowed it would have reduced the impact.

A guy ran a red light and....

Thanks, I was not sure if they were active or not.

A guy ran a red light and....

...Smashed into me on the way home. Luckily everyone was fine. Got home and got my configuration invite!! Perfect timing:) So my decision to be made. Get the expensive one now to take advantage of the tax credit or wait for the cheaper one with less tax credit. Hmmm. Also I realized that...

    240v Electrical Question

What is the max amps the three can take? I'm about to get 240v put in the garage. Trying to figure out if I should go 60 or 80amps. I plan on having two EV's in the future and will put in chargers for both to split the line I think I should be good with 60 (25amps a piece) but why not go 80...

    Chill mode!

In my leaf "eco" mode softens the throttle response. It makes driving smoother much easier and gives better range. I like it. I read somewhere that the micro up and down changes to power when the pedal is sensitive affects range.

Model 3 reveal effect on other luxury car sales

Lack of battery heater may cause very slow SuC charging speed

I'm thinking about putting a small heater on the garage floor in front of the car, on a timer, to keep the pack warm in the winter. Thoughts? It seems like that may be good for pack longevity and initial performance ie no restricted regen.

    5K/week pushed back to Q2

The problem with this analogy is that there were other phones available at the time. Tesla still is really the only game in town. It is true that more cars are coming but until we see some movement on charging infrastructure from other manufacturers the other cars are basically local only. I...

Software updates to enhance the driving experience

This is crazy! Preconditioning is one of my favorite features on our Leaf. Soooo nice to hop in the car with the kids for school and have it nice and toasty. They always scramble to get in and feel the fan blowing warm air before I unplug the car:). It's great not to have to remember to pull...

Aero covers, or Spikes (No Covers) Pics.

Is there a small cover to snap on the center of the 18's when they are without the full aero covers? I'm thinking of something to cover the center hole and lug nuts all together.

New Video - Laying down in back of Model 3

Can someone with access to a M3 post a picture of someone lying under the car lengthwise? I need to get an idea about ground clearance. Oh and a picture of some gloves, large sized, nothing else, in the glove box. Thanks!!

Rough Power Situation - Should I upgrade? Electric advice sought

This is what we do with our leaf. It works fine if you don't drive much every day. When we do, we can pick up a few groceries and use the fast charger there or just settle for a lower charge the next morning. In that case we plug in between trips (usually don't do this) and get a full charge...

Car guy coming from an ICE

I have always loved driving, especially manual transmission cars. Even a drive to the grocery store was fun for me. I have a three reservation and leased a Leaf last year and will never buy another ICE. Electric driving is that good. I love it. Smooth, quiet, clean and efficient. The...

    Model 3 Options Pricing

I am hoping that by the time my reservation comes up (late 2018) there might be some changes to the options. Maybe production process will be settled and they can make some changes to the option packages. They do this frequently with the S right? Id be surprised if they were exactly the same...

    Send in the union

Better or not is a matter of opinion. In addition state and federal agencies we're not involved at all in our contractual disputes. It was you all by yourself vs the company. You had to pay for your own lawyer. State and federal agencies simply do not cover all the same things unions do...

    Send in the union

My company did these surveys and did nothing or very little to address concerns and successfully unionized a mostly non union company.
  44. L

    Send in the union

Not true. It's not just about safety its about enforcing contracts and the process involved. As I pointed out an individual worker is much better off fighting a dispute with the power of the union and the NRLA behind him than all on his own. This is a major benefit and a big reason why...

    Send in the union

Agree to disagree:). To clarify I did not say that unionazation would be "great" for Tesla. If Elon can convince them things are good enough without a union that's fine. Ultimately it's up to the employees. If they want a union that's fine too. Just like companies, there are good unions and...

    Send in the union

No, they most likely would not. They will almost always pay the least possible. I work for a company that consisted of mostly anti union workers. We had two union drives that failed. The company was told during the third drive that all they needed to do was bump up pay to industry average...

    Send in the union

Completely false. I have direct experience with contractual disputes between the company and individual contract holders where the company just buried them in legal motions while the individual racked up thousands in legal fees.

    Send in the union

Yeah, I know unions. I am a member of one. Have been for 8 years and work at a company that was not union but is now. I am aware of all the anti union talking points:)
