    Model S REST API

Does anyone have experience with the energy_sites endpoint? Keep getting a 400 error for history or calendar_history with the following response: {'response': None, 'error': '`kind` is required', 'error_description': ''} Unclear what the kind is supposed to be, or how it wants it passed. I'm...

NIssan Leaf is a Better Car Than the Tesla Model 3?

I saw that this morning... there was even an article published about it, that mentioned them walking it back: https://electrek.co/2019/06/03/tesla-chademo-adapter-now-compatible-model-3/

Video: US plug-in vehicle sales 2012-2019 animation

For what it's worth, I did search the forum to see if it had been posted before... might just be a subforum or the keywords didn't line up; however, I didn't find a match.

Video: US plug-in vehicle sales 2012-2019 animation

I stumbled upon this animation showing make/models of plug-in hybrid & EVs sold from 2012 until May 2019 today... I thought it was interesting, especially how fast you can see the number of Model 3's increase in just a little over a year of time, so thought I'd share.

Can you give your self a referral

I've been having the same question... guess I'll find out possibly after I take delivery of our new Model 3 on Friday... I'm not sure I need the 10k free supercharging miles. I've been barely doing 12K/year on my Model S currently and most of the charging has been for free at work. I'm also...

NIssan Leaf is a Better Car Than the Tesla Model 3?

That was honestly my thought when I saw the title... figured as I own both, could at least elaborate a response. But hands down the M3 is a better car, even with just the base model. I left it out of my original post; however, one key difference for why the Model 3 is superior is charging. The...

NIssan Leaf is a Better Car Than the Tesla Model 3?

I'm nearly at 3 years on a Model S (gen 1 AP)... we got my wife the 2018 LEAF only 151mi range, vs the newer 215 mi range. We did this primarily as she pretty much never drives, and only around town if she does when it rains. We were hoping for the base 35K Model 3 + AP w/ the full federal...

Tesla loan comparison spreadsheet - auto updates hourly

Thanks for this spreadsheet... stumbled upon it maybe 1.5 months ago, when I was starting to look into ways to pay for our new Tesla (delivery scheduled Friday), just got approved/funded for a loan through HickamFCU (lucked out my brother-in-law just moved to Ohau last year) for 1.74% on a 60 mo...

Amount Due at Time of Pickup - California

Check the pinned Google Sheet: Tesla loan comparison spreadsheet - auto updates hourly There is a reasonably easy credit union in Pasadena (How To Join) that only requires you to donate to their local library to join and their rate is lower than Tesla's. Mind you to get the lowest rate you need...

About to order Model 3 SR+, questions about financing in CA, delivery

There is a financing comparison spreadsheet on here, you should check it out. But there is a Credit Union in Pasadena that only has you make a donation to the local library to join: Auto Rates It has rates that you are looking for. I could join a credit union in Hawaii as my brother in law...

Homelink Garage Door Opening no longer included with Premium Interior Package

It should be, I had the same thought... I ordered on Sunday, and they were trying to make me take delivery this coming Sunday but thankfully got them to move it, as letting me know today at 5 pm makes it nearly impossible to secure financing before then. I'll let you know, as I assume if you...

PPF and Adhesive Style Front License Plate Holder

Do you have a ceramic coating on your PPF? What PPF/coating? Curious as planning to plan to do a full STEK PPF wrap + C.Quartz Finest Reserve and now just discovered today that the pilot program for these license plate stickers finally is a thing... so hoping to do it with our recently ordered...

Remind me that she's just a car...

I know the first ding/dent I got on my Model S was heartbreaking... The dents a PPF won't do much to prevent; however, I park in a campus parking deck regularly next to covered golf carts, that the students who drive them rarely if ever properly secure the coverings... so I have numerous micro...

    Financing thru 3rd party bank

I was curious on the potential 60mo loan I'm considering at 1.74% would only save $223 over the life of the loan. Not sure it's worth the extra hit on my credit check or added hassle.

    Model X (2018+ w/ 2nd & 3rd row fold flat) - full-size mattress in back?

I don't remember the full-size mattress size off the top of my head; however, I know there is a memory foam mattress for the Model X that has it's dimensions listed: Configurator 3.1 – Dreamcase Hope that helps. I know I've considered getting one of these; however, as I'm leasing my Model S...

Article: I went camping in the trunk of a $145,000 Tesla

Its started cooling down here & I've managed to find shaded parking since I got V8.0, so I haven't seen the temp go above 105F yet. I'm not sure if this is due to the Cabin Protect or the drop in temp/parking in shade.

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

So I've only used 1 supercharger on a long drive since picking up my Model S at the factory, as needed to use one to get home from the factory. We stopped in Roseville, and by the time we found a restroom and got back to the car... had enough more than enough range to get home and/or to another...

It's Amazing What You Can Cram into a Model S

I came from a VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI, it has about the same internal storage space; however, the Model S is wider so it's actually easier to toss my girlfriend's bike in the back. I find this surprising every time how much easier it is... has me considering not getting the roof rack. Doubtful I...

    Tesla Referrals Through Mobile App

That's better than me :( I have 0. My guess still is there is a bug in the code that's leading to the button not working on the app currently. As doesn't seem constrained to phones running a specific version of Android.

    0-60 in 2.5 seconds

My biggest gripe when I saw this announcement was why is there no 100D? I can't currently afford either... but agree with others, the speed on my 60D is more than I really need for passing, getting up to speed from an on ramp, etc. I even accidentally got up over 100MPH passing the other day due...

    Tesla Referrals Through Mobile App

Likely has always been there, but hidden... and an API call it regularly makes to Tesla toggled it to be visible now. My guess since it's not working that someone did this by accident or forgot to turn on the section of code that does the acquisition of contacts.

    Tesla Referrals Through Mobile App

I'm with @rog I just checked... all the permissions are granted, but I get the same error message on my Nexus 6P (sadly not on Android 7.0 yet... )

    Tesla Referrals Through Mobile App

@ssrajputev my guess is you are running Android 6.0+? In Android 6.0 developers have to prompt you for access to your contacts and get permission at that point; however, it seems Tesla did not do this correctly (or develop it for Android 6.0+ in mind) and so you have to go into app settings and...

    Autopilot now $3k. Why?

That sucks :( Was curious what would happen to existing orders/owners for upgrade prices if they changed. Can you upgrade it now before taking delivery at the original price? Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Not really, just new symptoms appear as the insanity about when it'll be produced/delivered start to fade. Coming up with new excuses to drive is one such new symptom. I'm worried there is no cure... made a comment to a friend yesterday that I'm not sure I'll ever want to drive anything else now.

They are pretty awesome, also Netgear just released a mesh WiFi network option too. Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I sadly agree with you, my stress level actually wouldn't have been as bad waiting to go into production if I didn't know folks ordered after me were getting their cars produced before me. Highway or country road driving question

The main things that wear on out a Tesla are brakes & tires... and with regenerative braking you can have the car slow you down most of the time and minimize brake use. If the non-highway driving isn't an issue for you, there really should not be much of a difference in impact on the Tesla. It's...

    Randomized Referral!

    Anyone using plugless?

Normally, I would say yes... but what most of my electricity goes to is not the car, and much of that is running 24/7. I'm on the fence but think it's a wash for me currently on either plan. If I can get a powerwall, the equation changes as can insure I use stored solar energy during peak times.
  40. J

    Anyone using plugless?

Mind you peak usage rates can exceed 40 cents/kW on that plan too.
  41. J

    Anyone using plugless?

PG&E has their off peak rates on their EV-A/EV-B plans from 11pm-7am with rates of $0.11740/kW (winter) it's $0.11465/kW (summer). It has me considering transitioning to the PG&E EV-A plan to get those rates; however, considering how little charging will do with minimal daily driving compared to...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

Enjoy the test drive!! Definitely sold me that the entry level battery was still an amazing car!! And don't forget to make use of a TMC member's referral code if you choose to order one between now and Oct 15th. Will save you $1000 USD off the price.
  43. J

    New owner Early Impressions

@Vad42 if it makes you feel better, I did have my DS do my delivery... and as an active TMC member and having already read the owners manual more than once... I knew more about some aspects of the car than my DS did.
  44. J

    New owner Early Impressions

Oh interesting observation... my parents really like the car (haven't seen it yet) as there is no feedback on the built in bluetooth when I call them; however, the car is so quiet in the car that when I signal to turn it's noticeable on the call.
  45. J

    Anyone using plugless?

@James Anders, I think if it was closer to the cost of the Tesla HWPC for cost then it would be an easier sell. It's the modification to the vehicle that has me worried... I seriously considered pre-ordering it even with the cost, but the requirement to modify the vehicle worried me. Not sure...

I have great WiFi reception in my garage, but even with how powered my WiFi routers are... I lose the signal shortly after pulling out of the garage. Grey Leather going away?

@Skotty my Tan interior looks great, the lighting in the photo of the one you don't like is really horrid. I'd say any color seat can look bad under the same lighting. But agree best thing to do is see the colors in person under different lighting and make the decision.
  48. J

    Anyone using plugless?

In addition to the inefficiencies of charging, the fact they have to add something into the Tesla for it to work had me decide against even considering it. As this would likely void or cause issues the Tesla warranty.
  49. J

    Anyone using plugless?

I agree, and honestly if you add up the time to plug in/unplug it's less time than I'd spend at the pumps with my previous ICE vehicle in a month. And such a more pleasant/enjoyable experience.

Article: I went camping in the trunk of a $145,000 Tesla

For the refreshed Model S models, you could likely get 3" or 4" foam like from NSI: Bulk Mini Cell - North Shore Inc And cut a 38"x42" square piece to make it nearly flush with the seats in the rear or the Tesla. It's about a 3.5" difference between the trunk and the top of the seats when...
