    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Yep, the only way to stop Russia from attacking you is to stop defending yourself from their attacks. Makes total sense.
  2. Dangerous Fish

    Steering clicking

Sounds more like creaking than clicking, in which case could be upper control arms. M3 and MY parts very similar but part numbers and spec. can be slightly different. These notes apply to either model though.

Wheel alignment shop around Slough, Bracknell, West London

It's further than you may want to go but you'll get an outstanding service from Joe, who has vast experience with alignment and working on Teslas. https://carservicerepairs.com/

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Not much drag racing goes on in EU, hence there are very few drag strips and not many owners will be that interested in knowing how ther car does over 1/4 mile. There is a meet being planned at Santa Pod in the UK in a couple of week's time which might have one or two Highlands turning up so...

    Speed restrictor -July changes

That's not accurate information. The prosecution threshold varies from force to force. If you're 1 mph over you could still be prosecuted if you are in a particularly draconian area. It's also more likely a force will set the threshold lower than "10%+2%" in a 20 zone than, say a motorway.

The "junk product" in this case is the HUD not the Tesla.

MasterC17's Time Attack Build - Part Three - More Power

Had a look at a UK-spec. Highland today and there's obviously more reinforcement where the MC attaches to the firewall and it hardly moved when someone pressed the brake pedal hard, so I doubt a brace will improve things much TBH.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Earlier today I had the opportunity to drive a UK spec Highland M3P around a fast track for a few laps. The biggest issue was the battery overheating earlier than we've ever had with the Fremont-built 2019/20 M3Ps several of us are running on track here. The only way I could monitor pack...

Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

The rear dampers have always been the weakest point with the original Model 3. Personally, I'd forget about the Teins and fit Highland dampers all round.

    2020 M3P vs 2024 MY standard

My last ICE car's range was about the same as my Model 3. I never bothered referring to the estimated range on the trip computer in that and I don't look at estimated range in my Model 3 now. Sure, I use ABRP now if I'm going on a long trip so I plan a bit more but I hardly find that...

Tesla's Charging Woes: Why I'm Ditching It for Long-Distance Travel

Am I correct in thinking you have owned a Model S since 2017? Is this the first time you've done a long trip in it?
  16. Dangerous Fish

    2020 M3P vs 2024 MY standard

Assuming you had an ICE car in the past, did you study the manufacturer's range estimate as carefully as this? You'd sleep a lot easier if you'd change to % instead of estimated mileage. But to answer your question, some of it is degredation and some is just the usual combination of conditions...

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

As a few of us keep explaining, the automatic proof exists in that the charger went pop and smoke came out of it. That could only be due to a fault in the charger. Tesla doesn't have to show anyone any data because the cause is blindingly obvious for all to see. If you or anyone else doesn't...

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

There is dedicated circuitry/logic which manages the pyro fuses. There wouldn't be a 'computer bug' or command coming from the main computer which could accidentally fire them, if that's what you're getting at.

2024.20.1: seatbelts alert sound almost inappreciable

Have you tried a 2-button reset? It's not a safety problem, it's just a reminder to do something you should automatically do every time you get in the car.

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

Why do you keep saying the handshake caused the fuse to blow? Who told you that? I think the message you got in the app from Tesla lost some of it's meaning in translation. During the handshake, no DC is flowing. The contactors in the car may not even have closed when the charger developed a...

    Hankook Tyres Cracking

What does "fobbed off" mean? No response at all or just a response they didn't want to hear? And to be fair, a Tesla ranger isn't a tyre expert any more than someone on a forum. I've got more experience WRT tyres than any Tesla employee I've ever met ;) You'll get all sorts of responses here...

    Hankook Tyres Cracking

Does your car get driven regularly? Small cracks within the tread are pretty normal. If they were on the sidewall, that's different but I wouldn't worry about those. If you're concerned though, contact Hankook and ask for their opinion.

RPM HUD Turn Signal Stopped Working

HUD is not a Tesla partner. It's a random Chinese company who hacked into the car. Chinese hackers by a different name, in fact. 😁

Heads up display stopped working after last software update

Tesla does not have a partner which makes HUDs, so I'm not sure what you're talking about there. You honestly think looking in a slightly different place to check your speed is less safe? How so? There are many things you may have to glance at in all cars which aren't presented to you anywhere...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

Sure, but your custom config/layout would be tied to your profile, so whatever Tesla you got in it would look the same to you. If a guest got in your car they would have the defualt layout or one they had pre-programmed. In a future release, the car's internal camera would scan your iris and set...

Tesla saying my warranty is voided due to my wrap on my car

Clips are part of the camera. If they break (which they will if the cameras aren't removed properly) then it's new camera time unless you want to bodge it with glue etc.

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

Untrue on both counts. What would have been the cost of that charger and what location was it? Here's just one story which debunks the myth about Supercharging:

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

3rd party inspection is a good start. Your insurance isn't covering you for the cost of a rental while this is sorted? I'm afraid Izivia has a bad reputation when it comes to customer service. Their Trustpilot score is 1.7! It looks like the legal route and more time/stress or just pay for the...
  37. Dangerous Fish

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

I wasn't accusing you of blaming Tesla for the actual issue, just to be clear. It's just that many owners encounter problems with their cars and seem to default to Tesla being to blame without doing any research or investigation first. Who has given you this explanation? You said "Basically...

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

We don't know the actual words or writing Tesla OP has from Tesla. We have an abbrevated account, that's all. Tesla may have actual data to conclusively say the charger was the problem, they may not. The mode of failure might be enough for the engineers to know what happened. OP is telling us...

  40. Dangerous Fish

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

He can say that to them without Tesla doing anything because it's true. Why involve Tesla in something that has nothing to do with them? This is like the people complaining because their 3rd party HUD stopped working after a car software update. It's not Tesla's fault.
  41. Dangerous Fish

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

We don't know exactly what Tesla said but it's not their responsibility to comment on 3rd party issues anyway. Sometimes it's better to say nothing when all the facts aren't known. Why is OP in a jam? He should be going after the charger company. Their charger is supposedly toast so an...

  43. Dangerous Fish

Heads up display stopped working after last software update

Well, in your case the turn signal stopped working and in the OP's case the speed etc. stopped working, but the car's speed/turn signals are still working so I very much doubt it's a bug that's affecting the car's features in any way. These 3rd party devices have stopped working before and will...

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

So you're saying a car's BMS can command a charger to do something which will lead not only to a possible fuse blow but also could cause the charger to explode? That sounds like bad charger hardware/software design... ;) The most probable cause of a Tesla blowing it's fuse due to being...
  45. Dangerous Fish

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

But it's clear cut. If the invoice shows your fuse needs replacement that's because it's had a surge from the charger. There is very little else to cause that and Tesla may not have any further information to tell you. There's nothing fishy going on other than the charger had a fault and it's...
  46. Dangerous Fish

Tesla Model Y complète Shutdown due to 3rd Party EV charger

Going on the information we have currently, I can't see how this has anything to do with Tesla nor why they should spend time investigating an issue with a 3rd party charger. There probably is very little they can diagnose anyway if it's just the fuse that's blown. The car did it's job by...

RPM HUD Turn Signal Stopped Working

I don't have one and never will because of this reason. Rear Fore Toe Link Replacement

Just a FYI. A friend of mine bought a pair of front suspension arms from Euro Car Parts to replace his OE ones which had delaminated and they lasted about 400 miles before delaminating. They weren't even MIC (made in Germany, in fact) so I'm now of the opinion it's probably best to stick with OE...
