2016 90d with FUSC SC01, bought pre-owned from Tesla, will it transfer to new tesla purchase?

Searched threads but could not find any info. I bought my 2016 from Tesla as pre-owned with the FUSC. The code check trick clicking on the car image shows SC01. With the horror stories on the forum I'm wondering if this will transfer to the purchase of a new Tesla. Any experience on this?

Need Advice on allstate declaring my bumper/panel damage totaled!

I naively thought that I could just go third party and contact the other guy's insurance (Allstate) and get made whole without having to deal with my insurance, as the other guy admitted fault in writing by leaving a note. The 20K estimate come from the body shop I chose, and Allstate took...

Need Advice on allstate declaring my bumper/panel damage totaled!

More info today. So the 4k I received was not the ACV, that was some kind of down payment for repair after they did their video estimate. Not sure what they call it. The rep called the ACV 16K, premashup. KBB estimated around 20K as a rough guide. I am new to all this, and the Allstate...

Need Advice on allstate declaring my bumper/panel damage totaled!

that's my point, there's no equivalent vehicle. Does anyone know the rate of HV battery failure ? Is it related to total miles/battery cycles? my 90d has 146K miles. It'd love to see data on it. I guess I thought this car would keep running for another 10 years, but I've thought more...

Need Advice on allstate declaring my bumper/panel damage totaled!

Thanks for the responses, but the 4K was sent after a 2 min video inspection from Allstate. Then they called me to say it's totalled after I took it to the body shop and the shop estimated 20K. My perspective is that the car drives, the trunk opens, and there are no defects apart from the...

Know a good collision/body shop in East Bay that won't charge max price for an older Tesla?

Have an old but working great 90 2016S that got hit in the rear bumper, quarter panel. Drives fine, no warnings, charges fine, other than the parking sensor is out. Due to high miles the market value of my beloved 90 is virtually nil, but of course the repair estimate from a recommended Tesla...

Collision/body shop in Nor Cal that won't always order new tesla parts and charge the max possible amount?

Have an old but working great 90 2016S that got hit in the rear bumper, quarter panel. Drives fine, no warnings, other than the parking sensor is out. Due to high miles the market value is virtually nil, but of course the repair estimate is around 20k and insurance wants to declare it total...

Need Advice on allstate declaring my bumper/panel damage totaled!

My 90's fair market value is around 20K at most, as it has high miles. It runs great, used to look great and my plan was to drive it long as possible, esp with the FUSC. The way I see it there has to be a shop who can fix the damage to make it cosmetically acceptable, if not factory new...

Need Advice on allstate declaring my bumper/panel damage totaled!

I learned about the transfer of FUSC to a new tesla and was eager to hear more, but just read a story on the forum of tesla reneging on the deal. Have others successfully done this? i would need to take delivery of a new tesla in a month, so it seems like there is a good chance it woul not...

Need Advice on allstate declaring my bumper/panel damage totaled!

My 90 was hit while parked. The guy left a note but his Allstate insurance says the estimate from my shop (Brooks motors in nor cal) of 20k means it is totalled. See my pics. It is ugly but it still drives and charges and trunk opens. And most of all it has FUSP. So the Allstate guy...

    Battery Fuse Replacement 2016 Model S 90D

Have had the fuse warning on my console for about a week soon after most recent software upgrade. Have 2016 Model S 90D. Service estimate is $337.24 in Nor Cal. The thread has been useful but so far I've learned that: 1) sometimes it goes away 2) the prices are all over the place 3) and the...

Miles watts stopped reading on dashboard

Any idea on what's causing my trip data not displaying. Suddenly shows zero miles, zero watts on all trip data. Only the timer is working and total odometer miles. Rebooted the dash twice, and no change after several days.

Tesla charging $1915 for rear quarter window replacement!!

Got it done at Hi-Tech glass in Redwood city. Small spot and definitely not fancy, but they replaced the window in 1.5 hours and it looked good as new. They removed the trim and reattached it, but it didn't look like they had to use much in the way of binder/glue. Very satisifed --- with...

Tesla charging $1915 for rear quarter window replacement!!

Safelite quoted about $1000 from their online estimator. One shop (HighTech Auto Glass) in Redwood city quoted $500, and offered mobile service. A body shop quoted 500 for parts, but estimated 6 hours labor with total price: $1500. The estimates are all over; seems like 4-6 hour labor is...

Tesla charging $1915 for rear quarter window replacement!!

The chrome trim is totally intact. The top of the window has one continuous strip that extends over the main rear window. Perhaps I can ask them to keep the same trim, although one forum member said that it may not look right as apparently they have to break binder/glue to install the glass...

Tesla charging $1915 for rear quarter window replacement!!

estimate is 1205.08 for parts, 586.50 for labor. I'm guess the "ASY BRIGHT MOLDING" is the chrome trim.

Tesla charging $1915 for rear quarter window replacement!!

Prior posters suggested buying the glass on ebay, and the prices are around $160 but it seems that's not the most expensive part. Does molding/trim/glue cost > $800?. This is an MS.

Tesla charging $1915 for rear quarter window replacement!!

Just got broken into in Oakland where they broke into the small rear quarter window. Called around to Primer based on recs here; they didn't have the glass available. Got an updated estimate of 1900 from Tesla!! The breakdown of parts shows "ASY BRIGHT MOLDING" is the most expensive part...

Advice on body damage from accident today

Yes weird pattern. Other driver was in an exit only lane on the highway, then tried to merge back on. Interesting responses but we called Geico (other driver's insurance) and they said they'd assess. We had to force them into allowing us to use a body shop of our choosing. They first wanted...

Advice on body damage from accident today

My wife got into a low speed accident yesterday (other driver's fault) where the other person's rear tire brushed up against the right rear tire well at about 20 mph. Lots of rubber slag and it seems to have taken off some of the autofilm I had installed -- a definite endorsement for the film...

    Problems with tire pressure monitoring

Bought my 2014 CPO and 1st day after purchase the "check tire monitor" warning light came on. I called Dublin service and made an appointment. One day prior to my appt, they called to cancel. They basically thought it was a faulty sensor, parts on backorder, expect a call in a week. Month...

advice needed on budgeting for solar panels, charging

I'm considering a tesla s85 cpo. I have solar panels but realized I would need to almost double my panel output per month to fuel 100% of my car's commute . the estimate for my commute is 30 kwh per day using the EV trip planner. So per month consumption would be 600 kwh. I have PG&E...
