requirements for wall mounting a powerwall

yeah, can we get more pics of that panel? What is it? What is it displaying? How is it displaying that data?

requirements for wall mounting a powerwall

Based on others experiences, what have the installers told you are the general rules/guidelines they follow when wall mounting powerwalls? Obviously they need to go into studs, but are there any other requirements? How high is the maximum height they will mounting them off the ground? What if...

I'm interested. What would this accomplish? Can you summarize how this benefits?

Outdoor pad size for (2) powerwalls

because they aren't right next to the house. they are on the side of the house, but not near the house. Please see pictures. Please excuse crude MS Paint drawing.

Outdoor pad size for (2) powerwalls

They'll be in shade. They won't get afternoon direct sunlight.

Outdoor pad size for (2) powerwalls

My install is coming up and the (2) powerwalls for my system will be outside on the side of the house. To maintain the asthetic that I'm looking for I want to get conduit run and a pad placed where the powerwalls are going to be prior to install so the installers don't just use whatever is on...

Time shifting on SRP (Scottsdale, AZ)

depends on my use plan. SRP has plans where its 1:1, I would get credit back for exactly what I pay retail for it. I mean, yeah, if during the hottest parts of summer if for some reason my solar is making more than what the house is using and the batteries of are full, then cool, I get the meter...

Time shifting on SRP (Scottsdale, AZ)

that's not really what im looking to do. It's more about the ability to run the house on the batteries for longer. If I'm not having to use the batteries during the peak part of the day then the solar can be covering the house at those times. Then during the evening / early morning I can be...

Time shifting on SRP (Scottsdale, AZ)

because I can charge the powerwalls at 2am when im paying 0.02 cents per kw hour and then use that stored energy at 2pm when the cost is 0.15 cents per kw hour or more here in Phoenix, AZ

Time shifting on SRP (Scottsdale, AZ)

I'm fine to be a squeaky wheel to get SRP to give me some kind of written authorization that I can present to Telsa. Can you elaborate more on the installer password? Is it the same across the board or unique to each installation? Any threads you can point to that mention what you're talking...

Time shifting on SRP (Scottsdale, AZ)

oh interesting. so maybe this isn't a utility rule issue but a federal tax credit issue. interesting. Ok, so who is checking if I get a federal tax credit to let me charge the powerwalls from grid or not? Is this an honor system thing?

Time shifting on SRP (Scottsdale, AZ)

I've read in various threads on this forum that SRP has a rule that you can't charge powerwalls from the grid if you also have a solar array. I got a call from SRP solar dept. today discussing my rate plans and asked them about this. The guy said he had never heard of this rule. He also reached...

    Red-lining the solar purchase agreement

The general sentiment is 'don't try and make the contract difference, just get a rep to put something in writing'. Sorry guys, that's not how it works. Just because a rep says something in an email does not mean Tesla is duty bound to honor it. It's all about the contract. Contracts are legal...

    Red-lining the solar purchase agreement

Has anyone red lined (negotiated) their solar purchase agreement with Tesla? There are several terms in there that are very unfavorable to the customer. I am curious if anyone has red lined the contract and sent it back to Tesla and had them accept different terms? For example. I have red lined...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

I share this. I reached out to Sun Valley for a 8kw + 2 PW quote. They came in $16,000 more than Tesla. I asked Bobby if he was serious and he just said 'read reviews of Tesla installs' as the justification for charging $16k more. Anyone have any other recommendations for here in the valley?

Does my Model S (December/2013) have the wiring for a dashcam?

I want the 'cleaner install' part of that statement. I don't want wires hanging down from my windshield. You are correct though, I only want to record while the car is on. I DO want it to record when in park. Just not when the car is 'off'

Does my Model S (December/2013) have the wiring for a dashcam?

Also, if I don't want the dash cam recording 24x7 (just when the car is running) do I need this always on wire in the headliner? What is the wiring recommendation if I only want it recording while the vehicle is on?

Does my Model S (December/2013) have the wiring for a dashcam?

@darrelld, so with that wiring harness, you did not need to use either the power magic battery pack, the power magic pro, OR the power magic ultra battery? If so, how does the BlackVue connect directly to that harness you linked to?

Does my Model S (December/2013) have the wiring for a dashcam?

Yes, I've read that. That is why I'm asking if December 2013 cars have the 4-pin, 3 wire connector for always on power. That article mentions some cars in late 2013 to early 2014 might not have it so I'm asking if anyone else who might have December 2013 cars can assist with confirming if that...

Does my Model S (December/2013) have the wiring for a dashcam?

I am curious if my Model S, manufacturers in December 2013 has the 'constant' always on wiring above the headliner for a dash-cam? I am interested in getting the newly released BlackVue DR900S-2H, and am wondering if my car has the wiring that is needed to support that system rather than needing...

Vendor Dashboard for Tesla - the better app for your Tesla

@SG57, will you please have the app stop bugging me for a rating. Asking once is fine..but it seems like every 3rd or 4th time I open the app it wants me to rate it. It's rather intrusive.

Vendor Dashboard for Tesla - the better app for your Tesla

That statement doesn't make sense. How would a cabin temperature protection app work if it doesn't know what the temperature of the cabin is before turning on the HVAC? How can you know it's too hot in the cabin so turn the HVAC on.. if the HVAC isn't on yet?

Vendor Dashboard for Tesla - the better app for your Tesla

@SG57, so I purchased the app with the climate protection and I'm not sure it's working correctly. My first real world use case for this was today and when I opened the app the internal cabin temp was null "--". I closed and opened the app again, and even tried manually refreshing the data from...

Vendor Dashboard for Tesla - the better app for your Tesla

@SG57, when do you see this merger of features being done? Also, I could have sworn I read somewhere that Tesla introduced a more basic version of your cabin temperature protection feature in a previous software update. How does yours compare and overlap? Does yours override theirs?

Vendor Dashboard for Tesla - the better app for your Tesla

@SG57, great explanations of the logic behind the scenes. I suggest some additional logic. 1) make checkin period configurable. (rather than 15 minutes, let user decide from minimum 5 minutes up to maybe 60 minutes?) 2) First check is gear state.. If vehicle NOT parked, then exit. Assume if...

Vendor Dashboard for Tesla - the better app for your Tesla

@SG57, I have some questions about your 'cabin temperature protection' mode. It is not well described on your website and though these questions might have been asked before, I don't want to go through 28 pages to find them. I live in Phoenix, AZ where tomorrow it's going to be 106. It...

    Dash Cam install, Phoenix, AZ

This morning a crazy driver on one of the phoenix freeway's slammed on their brakes and tried to cause me to run into the back of them. I have decided I'd like to get a dash cam professionally installed. Are there any dealers here in the local Phoenix, AZ area that are familiar with Tesla Model...

Questions about buying a used 2013 Model S

As a side note. I LOVE my MS. It is so much fun to drive and I have no regrets. It is a bit of a stretch financially for me right now, but I can grow into the payments as I get some raises in the future. Overall, even with the little hiccups here and there, I have nothing bad to say about the...

why are some lights white, others orange?

Lexus interiors and gauges were blue and white. So that was why. Trust me.. it looked sick. But yeah, orange buttons when everything else is white looks very thrown together. Guess I'll try and find some spare control modules so I can have a friend de-solder and re-solder some new LED's
  31. C

why are some lights white, others orange?

and no one at tesla thought to maybe change the LED's to match all the rest of the car? Has anyone changed these themselves? In my previous car I had a guy take out the dash and desolder all the LED's and change them from orange to blue. He also changed them inside the window control units.

why are some lights white, others orange?

2013 MS The steering wheel forward back buttons have a white back light, the ambient lights are white, the dome lights are white. So why is the gear shift stalk use orange back lights? And the window control modules, they use an orange back light too. Has anyone changed these back lights? I...
