Looking for XM/FM Antenna for 16 Hardtop S

In 2016 XM was only available with the panoramic roof option. I have a hardtop yet despite this when Tesla updated me to MCU2 they added the digital FM/XM radio option and configured the infotainment screen with the XM control software. Even added XM to the audio sources. But the antenna wasn't...

    Older Tesla curious

Be aware that the battery chemistry has changed over the years and I don't know of any timeline that Tesla has published. That said I have a late December 2016 S75D that I have had TeslaFi log every activity since new. With 70,000 miles my total battery degradation has been 5.73% with the...

    XM Possibilities with MCU Upgrade

I have XM as one of the infotainment options on my new MCU 2.0 with the radio option so I assume XM is enabled. Yet if I select the XM demo channel (Ch 1) I get nothing. I know this channel does not require a valid XM account because this is their demo sales channel. Makes me think there is no...

    XM Possibilities with MCU Upgrade

Beyond adding an antenna, anybody know what else would be needed to add XM service to my new MCU 2.0 with the add on FM/XM Card? I have a hard top late '16 S that might be possible to run a coax up the A pillar to a roof mounted antenna. Spend a fair amount of time in areas without cell service...

    Supercharger - Albuquerque NM

Excluding the West Coast, I think this is the busiest supercharger in the West. Came thru here before Christmas and on New Uesrs to find only one charger available. Came thru today and only 2 available which were then taken. Suggest Tesla look at the useage and add an additional SC nearby.

Shopping cart hit and walk-caught on Sentry cam

FWIW my son wrangles carts at Costco. He is limited to a max of 10 carts when not using the cart machine. Says he is frequently asked to add another cart when full and passing by. Tries to explain why he can‘t stop and add an 11th cart but many don’t believe him and retaliate by just abandoning...

Advice for damaged Model S in Colorado

Stuggart did an excellent job replacing both the rear bumper, driver side rear quarter panel, and minor bending of the hatchback back into it's original shape on my model S. Got it done in two months and there was no degradation of the battery so I assume they kept it charged. Only issue is they...

After 2.5 happy years, bugs are finally biting me too...

Am yet another Dec 16 S75D owner. Got 2019.12.1.1 and immediately left on a 2000 mile all interstate trip. It's TACC that's been broken. Now there are consistent braking episodes that never occurred before. I've driven this particular route a number of times before without any issues and the...

Average repair time for body work (Boston)

Barry: Used Stuttgart Auto Body. Talked to the other Denver area authorized Auto Body shop. Name escapes me. It's a chain and they only do Tesla repairs at one location (Parker??). Average repair time for body work (Boston)

Just got my S back from an Tesla authorized body shop in Denver area. They replaced the rear bumper, supports, re-shaped the hatchback door back to the original curve AND replaced a rear quarter panel. Took just under 8 weeks.

    Gigafactory Tour Request

I understand that currently no tours of the Gigafactory is offered. Does anybody have a clue when we might be allowed to tour? Am planning a Spring road trip in our S to tour the Fremont plant and since I'll be passing thru Reno it would be an ideal opportunity to tour the Gigafactory as well.

    Small Fire, NBD, right?

Truely scary! Please update us as you learn more. Having a deep distrust of high power electrical plugs/receptacles that get worn by multiple connect/disconnect cycles and corrosion from dissimilar metals I installed a hard wired HPWC in the belief it gives the best safety margin.

Need Legal Help With Insurance Claim

ball joint failure on 2015 MS70D at 11K miles - Tesla won't cover

Wow! You are one lucky gentleman to have the break occur in such a safe manner. My plan of action would be to pay to have the piece examined for the cause of the failure. Then it should be easy to follow up with Tesla should it be a manufacturing defect.

Cost to upgrade from 60 to 75 after delivery?

With the battery actually 75KWh, you can charge the 60KWh battery to 100% all the time without battery degradation Vs only charging the 75KWh to 85% capacity to avoid degradation. In addition the 60KWh version actually has another 2.4KWh so real capacity is 62.4KWh.
