Pure Flow Air- HEPA replacement- Reviews of this company?

That tracks what my SC recently told me too. The cabin filter used to be $9... Prices have gone up 😅

Pure Flow Air- HEPA replacement- Reviews of this company?

Maybe the $425 price includes labor? Or is the cost of the "Bioweapon defense" upgrade that adds this filter + a button to the UI? Yes, that looks right. $425 is the cost to do the bioweapon upgrade if your car didn't come with it from the factory. It includes doing a gateway config change to...

Pure Flow Air- HEPA replacement- Reviews of this company?

Is that really what they cost? IIRC they used to be $220-$250 from tesla. I just took a peak at the EPC and now see the filter (with the plastic piece) listed at $295. You can see the process to "cut out" and glue in a new filter here in another vendor's video if you do go the 3rd party route...

Pure Flow Air- HEPA replacement- Reviews of this company?

The tesla under hood filters are glued to a large plastic part, that also gets replaced when you swap them out. 3rd party ones don’t have this part, so presumably just leak air around the filter?

Tesla Wall charger on a "50 amp circuit"

Interesting. I know chargepoint has included such stickers, but I have yet to see anything in code showing it’s required? Can you share a code reference?

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

Btw, I talked to someone at EverSource, and they indicated that they paid tesla last year (in ~Nov?)… so Tesla has been sitting on these funds for several months now. Hopefully next year goes a bit more quickly with this new system in place now. 🤞

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

I do not believe this is correct, at least for those of us with PW2s. Solar production during an event not increase your average ESS power contribution. If you have PW+ or PW3 maybe they changed how they are calculate things (because they don’t have a way to differentiate where the energy comes...

I got $2938 this year vs $2265 last year for my 3 PWs.
  10. A

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

also, this year’s payout *almost* makes up for tesla taking a year to do my install, not enrolling me in time for the 2021 summer season, and eversource cancelling the winter program entirely before I ever got to participate. Fingers crossed they keep the program going long enough to cover the...

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

I got $2938 this year for my 3 PWs on EverSource in MA. Unlike last season, I was able to have them fully charged before every event this season, so that should be pretty close to the high mark. (I also have grid events prioritized over storm watch). I *think* Eversource increased the payout...

DiY HomeLink Install using in car Service Mode - No need for Tesla Service or ToolBox

I’d be happy to give it a shot… Also, I encourage anyone that did the retrofit but is unable to enable it to open a service ticket. I’d personally push the SC to enable it for free (eg as a warranty or goodwill issue), since there appears to be a “bug” in recent FW versions that prevent DIY...

DiY HomeLink Install using in car Service Mode - No need for Tesla Service or ToolBox

That sounds like complete BS unless something under the hood changed very recently… I also don’t really see how they would/could implement that sort of VIN pairing in any reasonable way, nor why they would bother for this component. That seems like a lot of R&D for 0 benefit.

DiY HomeLink Install using in car Service Mode - No need for Tesla Service or ToolBox

I suspect this is the problem; based on the error message, this looks like a bug where tesla added the homelink config to the list of locked down gateway parameters that “normal” users can’t change. I suspect they’ll fix it in a future release, but definitely a weird one.

Electrician installed wall connector using Romex 8/3 + 60A breaker

Let me be explicit: If you have #6 NM-B wire for your EVSE: -If your wiring is not run through insulation and your state allows for the full 75C rating of the cable, you can run your EVSE at the full 48A on a 60A breaker -if your wiring *is* run through insulation, or you live in a state where...

Electrician installed wall connector using Romex 8/3 + 60A breaker

I just want to clarify that NM-B in the US and NMD-90 in canada are very similar in terms of both ratings and physical construction. They are both 90C rated Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon-coated (THHN) cable assemblies...

Electrician installed wall connector using Romex 8/3 + 60A breaker

I did not make that mistake. Re-read my posts… I merely said that a 60A breaker is the correct size 99% of the time for #6 NM-B, which it is. The breaker size alone doesn’t really tell you how many continuous amps you can put on the circuit. Do not confuse the “round up” rule (240.4(b)), which...

Electrician installed wall connector using Romex 8/3 + 60A breaker

How do you read it? And of course they do. The NEC itself is merely a guideline. In the US, it is up to each state (and in some case each city…) to adopt and enforce the code, and at the end of the day, what your inspector/AHJ says trumps even that. Said another way: Each state adopts a...

Electrician installed wall connector using Romex 8/3 + 60A breaker

There is no problem running romex in conduit, nor does such an installation need a de-rating as a result of running it in conduit (and even if it did, you would derate from the 90C column, so it wouldn’t matter here). A 60A breaker is the correct (and code compliant) size breaker for almost all...
  27. A

Electrician installed wall connector using Romex 8/3 + 60A breaker

It’s more complicated than that even, as some states amend the NEC to change the rules, for example here in MA. The 2020 NEC (NFPA 70) 334.80 paragraph 1 reads: 334.80 Ampacity. The ampacity of Types NM and NMC cable shall be determined in accordance with 310.14. The ampacity shall not exceed...

    Purchased Tesla 2017 Model S 90D, Received 60D

You should under no circumstances accept $3000. if I were you, I would get a quote from tesla to install a 90kWh pack and demand that from the dealer to make you whole. It will likely be upwards of $20k. Alternative resolutions I would accept: 1) them finding another equivalent model S with a...

Toolbox 3 issues connecting to Model X 100D

Has the MCU ever been rooted? If so, blocking ODIN is pretty common. IIRC, toolbox proxy works by getting an “unlock token” from tesla’s servers and sending that to the MCU periodically to keep the diagnostic Ethernet port “unlocked”. Disable your firewall if you haven’t already, make sure...

How can I create or access HDMI input?

The primary reason is because video output is a *much* easier problem to solve than video input today from a technical perspective.

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

I think they’ve understand that math perfectly well and do a mix of 2 and 3 hour events to limit their overall cost and also maximize the benefit to the grid based on estimated demand curves (after all, tesla PWs are not the only batteries in the program, and others may be better suited to 3...

System just stopped exporting at 20% even though my reserve was set to 0%. I guess they didn’t change the behavior after all
  34. A

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

We knew that though! You could consume 100% and export 0 and you would still get full credit. In a way, it makes sense. Either way, you’re offsetting demand on the grid.
  35. A

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

Indeed. I also seem to have full control of my PWs atm, which is not normal on the day of an event iirc. My reserve is currently set to 100% to make sure I’m ready for the event. If I drop it, it starts to discharge to my house. If this change is real does that mean my system would not...

Never mind, just had to update my app. Working now! Says 557 fleet homes for me (MA Eversource). One interesting note in the detail pane: Specifically, the note to “increase your backup reserve to limit discharge”. That would be completely new behavior (and require me to alter my strategy...

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

Very much so. Touch has been a tough nut to crack, mainly because of the specific chipset being used, lack of any public drivers for it, and Infineon being… less than helpful to date.

    220v install in a condo

The statue defines “unreasonable” as a “significant” increase in cost. While “significant” is certainly a subjective term, I would personally put that somewhere between 10-25% more than the install would cost without the additional requirements. If it costs $2k to install the charger, nobody can...

    220v install in a condo

Electrician installed wall connector using Romex 8/3 + 60A breaker

Generally, yes, you can use the 75C column for TCERJP, though you might have an easier time finding SER.. the exception to this is if you’re running the cable under/through insulation. If so, then you must use the 60C column for ampacity. You can also just run #6 THHN / THWN2 in conduit (even...

    220v install in a condo

Does anyone else have a parking space with a charger already? Do you know which spot(s) would be yours? (And is there any opportunity to swap spaces with someone if doing so would make your charger install less expensive?) Personally? Given that FL law (718.113(8)) says you have a right to...
