Dashboard screens turn off in V9?

Interestingly, I was on hold with Tesla support 2 days ago, and one of the canned messages they play said "Did you know that many problems can be resolved by holding both scroll wheels while keeping your foot on the brake pedal until the main screen reboots?" Maybe they are just perpetuating...

Sharing nav with car, V9, multiple cars

Yep, this is exactly it. There have been times when someone shared an address with me via email or text, and this lets me send it to my car.

Sharing nav with car, V9, multiple cars

The new feature that allows you to share a destination to your car in V9 is really handy. If you are fortunate enough to own multiple Teslas, be aware that it shares to whichever car you last viewed/selected from the Tesla app. This may be obvious to everyone else, but it took me a while to...

Is the performance to "easy" to get yourself in trouble

To be honest, it's easy to get yourself in trouble with any Tesla. Even the base model accelerates faster than most performance cars. The difference between a P-whatever Tesla and a base Tesla isn't going to help you much... ;)

    Alpharetta, GA - Service Center

Shiny. I dropped my Model S off for her first/12k mile service. I like this location MUCH better than Decatur. Lots of parking, not cramped, easy to access. They are a little discombobulated at the moment, but were great to deal with.

Signature Black Wall Charger Award Date Sliding?

Based on my email with Tesla about this, I'm not expecting to get mine until early next year. They are still working through the backlog from September of last year. We got our referral delivery in March of this year.

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

This was the key question that I posed in a different thread. I'm also doubtful that it's included in the drive unit warranty. But it would be good to get an official answer from Tesla. So far, I haven't gotten a response to the email I sent to Tesla.

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

My June 2017 delivery Model X had the passenger side DRL fail about 1 month ago (after about 36k miles), whole headlight unit replaced. Service adviser said that they are seeing a lot of them fail, mostly on Model S.

Half shaft and jack shaft - considered to be part of the drive unit?

Thanks for the link! Based on this, it sounds like the new parts aren't available yet, so they misled me on yet another thing. But hopefully the new parts really will become available soon and I can get them installed the next time this happens.

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

This thread is very timely, I just posed a question about something related to this yesterday (though more specifically on the warranty side). My drive shafts have been replaced twice now in the past 10 months or so, and I always have my suspension in low. Does anyone know what happens in the...

Half shaft and jack shaft - considered to be part of the drive unit?

They told me that they are installing parts from a new manufacturer this time. I don't believe them, but even if it was true, it sounds like it's not really going to fix it. They tried to tell me that this happens because I drive with the suspension set to "normal" instead of "low". I told them...

Half shaft and jack shaft - considered to be part of the drive unit?

Hi all, I've had my Model X for almost 13 months, and I have driven almost 40k miles in that time. Last year, I took her in to service due to a problem with shuddering under acceleration. They replaced the half shafts and the shudder went away. I just got her back from service today where...

    Software Update 2018.21.9 75bdbc11

I upgraded from 2018.14.2 to 2018.21.9 over WiFi last night. I can confirm (unsurprisingly) that speed limit sign reading is not present, and the GPS database is no better. I can also confirm that autopilot works MUCH better on country roads! There are several curves that 14.2 would not...

Full body PPF wrap and now left FWD won’t open

I haven't had this problem with mine, but I suppose it's possible. The ultrasonic sensors are said to be very sensitive. It may not be the wrap itself, but could be that the process of installing the wrap did something to the sensor - perhaps the sensor was marginally in spec from the factory...

Am I screwed for going 75D rather than 100D?

I live in Georgia as well. My daily commute is about 120 miles, round trip. Typically, I leave home with 90% charge, and arrive home with 45-50% charge in my Model X 100D. This winter, during cold days, I would charge above 90% in the morning to preheat the battery and heat the cabin on AC...

Am I screwed for going 75D rather than 100D?

Running the AC in the summer doesn't drain the battery too badly. It's running the heater in the winter that kills range.

Here it is the new Tesla Maps ( coming this weekend? )

I got the nav update this morning (Georgia). I was upgraded from 10.4 to 14.2 last Friday. I don't see any difference in autopilot, as expected. The navigation routing is MUCH better, especially along smaller roads near my home. And the estimated arrival times are much closer (+/- 2 minutes)...

    Firmware update 2018.14.2

I just got 2018.14.2 last night (service center push, ap2.0, mcu1, coming from 2018.10.4). It's amazing how much more responsive the center screen is! Everything seems much more snappy. I'll pass on the mcu2 hw upgrade, this is good enough! I had a loaner car with mcu2 and the new maps, I'm...

    Speed limit database updated?

Hi all, My Model X is still on 2018.10.4, and my Model S is on 2018.12. Both are MCU1, and the old maps/nav. Yesterday, on local roads near my home, both cars suddenly began reporting that the speed limit is different than it was the day before. Unfortunately, it isn't an improvement. The...

    Are FWDs getting better?

My Model X was delivered June of 2017. I've had a few squeaks/groans which were fixed by Tesla service. Very rarely, one door will open only part way. And very rarely it will fail to close the first time due to false detection of an obstacle. The vast majority of the time, they work...

    Version 2018.10.4

Hi all, I just noticed something new - not sure if this changed in an earlier release or not, but it's unique to the Model X. We have a cargo carrier on the tow hitch right now. The last time we did this was on Thanksgiving. When we come to a stop, we get an alert that parking assist is not...
