    Supercharger- Thornton, NH

Interesting. I happened to be there yesterday and every spot had a car parked in it. The charger location seems to be primetime parking for the pickleball courts. I wonder if they are going to have a problem convincing people not to block the chargers now that they are active. FWIW, the...

The slowing for cars on on ramps happens with just TACC enaged, so not just an FSD thing.

Are these photos before or after you tried to clean it? It looks really dirty except for the one corner.

Phantom Breaking on recent road trip

While agreed this is annoying, it's not phantom braking if there is a known cause. The other behavior that really annoys me is that it aggressively slows down for cars in on ramps, that haven't merged into the travel lane, instead of properly passing by them and letting them merge in behind...

Phantom Breaking on recent road trip

So are there any reports of anyone actually getting rear ended from a phantom braking event? So many people are sure they would have been hit if someone was behind them but somehow they lucked out I guess. I saw that one story of the car that caused an eight car pileup, but that came to a...

    Supercharger Voting 2023

Ha, I already found out about the chargepoint in the Lebanon Street garage. I've been doing a lot day trips up there and back so a supercharger somewhere in the middle of 89 would definitely still be helpful.

    Supercharger Voting 2023

I agree, exit 9 off of 89 would be a great spot. Maybe they can team up with Dunkin like they have at a bunch of other spots in NH. It seemed odd to me, that they have been adding so many SC's off of 93 north of Hookset, but nothing really on 89. My parents just moved to Hanover so this would...

Anyone same as me hesitate to buy a new Tesla because of FSD?

In the US, you can get Enhanced Autopilot for $6000 and FSD for $15,000. Do they offer separate EAP in Canada? EAP gets you everything except stop sign and traffic light control (besides FSD beta of course) I would be tempted to get the EAP at that price if buying again, although I would...

Winter tires or winter tire package with tire/rim

modern studless snow tires are a huge improvement over stock all weather tires in all but extreme snow or ice conditions. If conditions were bad enough to require chains I personally wouldn't be taking a tesla anyway. I'm a huge fan of proper snow tires. I have a 2018 rear wheel drive model 3...

    Tax Credit Bill

So does anybody know how the law affects vehicles that are still eligible under the old system between now and Dec 31st? I’m interested in purchasing a vehicle from a manufacturer that still has full credits left. My issue is that I am over the $300,000 income limit. as far as I know there...

    Supercharger- Thornton, NH

It wouldn't surprise me. My parents were members at Owl's Nest up until last year, and they still live in the area. I know the owner always has big development plans. I think they are currently building some kind of manmade lake back there along with a new restaurant. I didn't see anything on...

I'm pretty sure this is actually at Owl's Nest golf course itself. Per the tax map cross reference list Map 240 Lot 109 was Map 16 Lot 1-7-3. This is essentially right next to where the clubhouse is.

Car moving forward when in reverse

I was thinking the same thing. Can't you disengage hold by pressing harder on the brake? I would try that without touching the gas at all and see if it rolls or not.

Is there any benefit to charging at a lower amperage over night?

250 kW would be over 1000A at 240V. So way higher current. It’s over 20 times more power then 48A at 240V

New App and Charging Info is propaganda rather than data

Has it been confirmed that the kWh reported in the app actually matches actual kWh at the wall? I was assuming they were only counting kWh used while driving. I'm more interested in knowing real kWh usage than any purported savings vs. gas.

A decent chunk of Route 49 heading into Waterville Valley is in Thornton (as opposed to Campton or WV) Perhaps this wouldn't actually be at one of the Thornton exits (29,30) which wouldn't make much sense since there is nothing at those. Originally I was thinking the Dunkin Donuts at Campton...

    Get $50 for reducing pollution!

I read the faq on the website and it says "Communication with your vehicle will be done through its onboard telematics system, which uses a cellular signal. So, you don’t need to connect to Wi-Fi." So I guess it tells the car to stop charging. I wonder how they are gaining access if you didn't...

    Get $50 for reducing pollution!

So Is this controlling your home charger? Or are they somehow communication directly with the car to tell it to stop charging? I don't see anything about requiring a connected charger, so I'm assuming the latter? Do you have to give National Grid your Tesla account info? (don't like the sound...

Any advice how NOT to get scammed with a private buyer?

Thanks for the explanation on the checks. Perhaps overpaying wasn't the correct term. You are correct that he didn't offer more than what the seller asked. It just seemed to me that the OP was actually surprised that the buyer was willing to pay his full asking price, and that this was...

Any advice how NOT to get scammed with a private buyer?

So I'm curious, since the buyer was willing to wait until the seller verified the funds before sending the car or title, does it make any difference what type of check he sends? Do all check types (personal, certified, cashier's) "clear" the same way. Would the seller actually be better off...

    $12K for FSD is insane

I guess value is in the eye of the beholder. I use autopark for parallel parking and it does a better job than I can. It might be slow, but it makes it one go. I usually miss on the first attempt. I'm also a fan of NOA. I suppose I could live without automatic on/off ramps, but I wouldn't...

Should I pay a bit more at home or Supercharge?

I can't figure out the variability in rates across the country. I would think the transmission and distribution cost would be fairly consistent, perhaps more expensive in areas with less density because of longer runs required.. but that's apparently not the case at all. How is it that here in...

    $12K for FSD is insane

I would pay up to $5k for the non-city driving features in FSD. (i.e. auto lane change, navigate on autopilot and autopark, summons) I don't care about summons, but I'm a big fan of NAP and autopark for parallel parking. I'd be happier if it was only $3k, or really happy if they just included...

I wonder how many of the people unhappy about V11 are really trolls

I think they made a bunch of stupid decisions with V11. While annoyed, I am planning on living with the changes until Tesla either changes them back or changes them to something else. My expectation is that Tesla has picked up on the negative feedback and will make updates. Hoping it happens...

    $12K for FSD is insane

They should go back to offering an option for enhanced Autopilot features. i.e. the current FSD features that are not in the FSD beta. I upgraded from EAP to FSD for $2k when it was a limited time special. I'm generally a fan of navigate on autopilot and the automatic parallel parking. I use...

    How many actually use Autopilot?

I use AP and NOA whenever I can on highways. I find NOA works fine if you set your speed slightly slower than average flow of traffic. It's much better if it's not constantly having to pass people. You also can't have the mad max setting on. This makes it try to pass if it is only slightly...

Speedometer wrong after changing tires? How to fix?

Not sure what you can do about that one. Here in the east we only have a few roads with 70 mph speed limits, so 74 would be enough for me. I usually like to set the speed to 1 or 2 mph slower than the average drivers. I find NOA to be happier if it isn't having to pass too many other cars. I...

Speedometer wrong after changing tires? How to fix?

You could just drive with it and make a mental note that the speedo is off. Both of my BMWs prior to getting the Tesla had the speedometer read low by about 5% when brand new. I kind of think they do it on purpose. It really wasn't a big deal. I basically knew that at highway speed the...

Supercharger - Lexington, MA (RT-128 NB service plaza)

This SC is really popular. I live in Lexington and drive by it all the time. It almost always has at least 3 or 4 stalls filled. On the other hand I haven’t seen any Ice’ing yet. I figured that was going to be a major problem, so pleasantly surprised on that front.

    Mobile Connector Longevity 2021

I have no idea about the electronics, but the outer jacket of my mobile connector is starting to deteriorate. It was supplied with my model 3 in June 2018. I typically only use it a couple of times a year when I visit relatives or rental houses. There are a number of splits in the black outer...

    Supercharger - Burlington, MA

It won't help that they are opening a Shake Shack (plus other stuff) in the old Sears building right next to where these chargers are supposed to go. I thought the original location proposed would have been better with less change of being blocked. I still don't understand why they changed.

    Autopark is laughable

It might be helpful to read the manual on the requirements necessary for it to display the parking P. I find you need to drive fairly slowly and be closer than you normally would to the ends of the cars. I don't use perpendicular parking very often, but it has worked fine the few times I've...

My Model Y Range....is really good.

Some parts of the country have higher legal speed limits than others. There are multiple states with 80 as the max speed limit. I think Texas has 85 mph in a few spots. Highest near me in New England is 70, but that's pretty limited.
  42. N

    EAP upgrade coming back

I’m a big fan of NOA, and auto park can parallel park a lot better than I can, so I use that whenever possible. I don’t see myself trusting FSD for a while, so I think having EAP is a great option. I think $4000 is a reasonable price for what you get.

Supercharger - Lexington, MA (RT-128 NB service plaza)

I'm assuming they will go in one of the two rows next to the grass medians. I'm also assuming they will get ICE'd regularly. (or they won't actually get built here) We'll see. Newton is basically the same layout, but without any extra space like Lexington.

I charged there on Sunday (4/25) afternoon and pulled 240kW (briefly) at about 25% SOC. I was pretty impressed as I could only get around 180kW max at Ashland a week or so earlier. Ashland was at similar SOC, but temps might have been a little colder. Car had been preconditioning prior to both...

    Who supplies Tesla shocks/struts?

I googled the 1044461-01-E part number. A bunch of people were selling on E-bay. Apparently it's the same shock as on Model 3. In one of the pictures you could see MANDO stamped into the shock tube. Apparently Mando is an OEM shock supplier. They appear to be based in South Korea.

    NoA is amazing.

I agree that it works pretty well now in light to moderate traffic. It's also generally fine in stop and go traffic. I haven't used it much in heavy, but still moving high speed traffic so I can't really comment on that, but it's probably when it has the most trouble. One of my biggest pet...

    Supercharger - Littleton, MA

Supercharger - King of Prussia, PA

I realize beggars can't be choosers when it comes to Superchargers in the philly suburbs, but kind of a sub optimal spot with regards to access from most of the highways in that area. That location would be quite a trek from the turnpike and back at most anytime of day. Hopefully they are still...
