New Model S Plaid steering wheel led lights flicker when steering wheel heater on

Same issue here, flickering LEDs on the steering wheel, right from the begining (dec. 2021 MS Plaid), not related with the heating or turning. I noticed also one of the front lights (right one) doing the same when the car is on, with just the parking lights on. Tesla changed the whole front...

    057 Technology extended service plan

Oh, and no more fast charging since then, only AC for now, don't know it it'll help but worth a try.

    057 Technology extended service plan

A follow-up for my 2014 MS 85kW battery with limited charging: my local 3rd party EV garage checked it, no faulty modules just a little imbalance in 2 of them. Reseted the error, 2.000 km later it's still good with the full range restored... Wondering how long it will last but for now not at all...

    Refresh gaming controllers

I use Nvidia Shield game controller in my MS Plaid 2022, needs to be plugged in the USB-C port. It is also recognized by BT but it appears always disconnected.

Tesla Battery Preconditioning: When, How, and Why You Should Do It

Oh, I have a strange setup: Plaid in the garage, plugged with the mobile charger to 220 V, id.4 with NACS adapter plugged at the Tesla Wall charger (limited to 40 A) in the driveway and the Model S with J 1772 adapter plugged with the id.4 mobile charger at 110 V also in the driveway 😜 All this...

Charging Tesla in Extreme Cold (SD, ND, MN, Canada) with 110V - Battery Heating Time at -20°C (-4°F)?

Try at least to heat the garage then so the car will continue to charge even with a 110 outlet.

Tesla Battery Preconditioning: When, How, and Why You Should Do It

Agree for the charging, I also always leave my cars plugged in during the winter. So that means that if the battery charges, the temp. is high enough anyways (5-10 C as jcanoe said) so the battery won’t “suffer” from the prolonged cold. I will probably still turn the preconditioning on from...

Tesla Battery Preconditioning: When, How, and Why You Should Do It

I also wondered that if I turn on the preconditioning during very cold days (-20 C) while having the car plugged in is better for the long term health of the battery. I don’t drive the car after that, just turn it off after about 30 min. so it will heat the battery. The car is always plugged...

    057 Technology extended service plan

Yes it is, no part number though was just verbal and I didn’t pulled the trigger yet. If they really offer 8 years, I’ll prob. go with that. Still have an appointment in 1 month with ExpertEV in Montréal but I’m scared now if they have to open the battery because of the possible core charge from...

    057 Technology extended service plan

Great thread, I just bought a 2014 S with the BMS_u29 error code and thought about trying repair it at a local shop but if opening the battery will cause an extra 20k on the top of the 18k (CAD) at Tesla, I think I'll go directly with a swap 😳 Also, my local SC told me that I get a 8y warranty...

    Limited range and BMS_u29 error

Hi, I just bought a Model S 2014 with 200k km AND with the BMS_u29 error which limits the charging at about 35% of the battery capacity. The price was great so I took the chance to repair the battery and continue using the car for a long time. I saw some threads with the same error but did’t...

Keeping it in Plaid mode all the time... any issues?

Normally, when the battery is not only charging faster (the supercharge) but also when discharging (which is also faster in Plaid), it gets lower mileage in time. That being said, I also love the Plaid mode and not sure that over a few years we can see any difference... The problem sometimes is...

    Auto Present Only Driver Handle?

I was also afraid something like this (or less dramatic) can happen while supercharging, let’s say during the night in a not too safe location… Even with the doors closed, we are not able to drive away because of the connected cable… An emergency disconnect mecanism should be available in this case!

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

Just a note: I have 2016 MS AP2 with FSD and Sentry Mode and Tesla Cam works after the HW3 upgrade; I still have the MCU1 and I'll do the EMCC recall only for now as I still have 3 years of the ESA and maybe something will break so I only have to pay the deductible :D (already had all 4 door...

Memory corruption issues in 18.42.2 on MCU1 cars?

I’m resurrecting the topic, have the same problem with missing fonts and “2886400 EMEM decode error”. Sometimes when I put the car in rear drive, the image from rear camera freezes. Done the FSD retrofit today but not yet the MCU 2 upgrade so I’ll wait see if it helps prevent the error as some...

Outrageous $5000 repair bill after warranty expire!

Yeah, crappy roads here in Québec and also the aluminium parts that breaks easier (ditto the same tech). The weight of the car doesn’t help and maybe neither my driving style, although I try to avoid most of the potholes :p

Outrageous $5000 repair bill after warranty expire!

I don’t have air suspension, it was upper control arm on the left and lower link assembly I think on the right. The tech who came to change my screen told me the suspension is the most common issue in long term.

Outrageous $5000 repair bill after warranty expire!

Also had the A/C compressor fail for my late 2016 Model S, at about 25k miles (1 and 1/2 years of ownership), repaired under warranty. Also a couple of broken suspension parts front left and then right, the screen yellow border - got them all repaired or replaced under warranty. I’m close to 50k...

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

My 2 cents: when you go arbitrating, you have 50 % changes to lose because a third party will take a decision between 2 other fighting parties. Is 50 % more that trying to have an agreement with Tesla? I got the screen because I waited and besides it was covered by warranty, I understand that if...

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

Not much to say, I’ve been waiting since 6 months I think, a couple of calls and a visit at the service for another repair, offered at first to change it with the same model but recommended to wait for the new model to be available.... which I did and one week ago got an email that said the...

HW3 upgrade waiting room: All FSD Tesla’s

The tech who changed my screen today (yellow borders) said that as he knows, all the cars with AP 2.0 and more recent can have the upgrade but they don’t have yet the parts. Also told me that the MCU upgrade (you know, for Netflix streaming o_O) will probably not work for 2.0 cause another type...

A/C Compressor finally failed. But $3400??!

I had an error message on my dashboard “Limited A/C and battery cooling” and after 2 visits at Tesla they decided to change the compressor... Only 35k km on a late 2016 MS

    Supercharger - Laval, QC

Yep, Urbans... Also, I don't know what the guy is checking but was not painting when I was there. He seemed to be the contractor, pretty much excited to tell me that this is one of the biggest charging stations 'in the world' :) (20 stalls). It sure is the biggest in Laval :)

AP2 - Definitely heading in the WRONG direction...

So is the update rolling out yet? I've been waiting all wekend and nothing... Meanwhile, with my current version (17.17.17), the side lines seems doing less "shaking" since a couple of weeks ago... just an impression?
