I just told them what happened and they took it in for repairs. Perhaps it was something else, or maybe they just decided to cover it anyway. I guess I should be thankful they covered it and not stress too much about the slight degradation from 265 to 250 miles.

I know they have a right to, but according to my service rep. it is new. If this is the case it should not have lost 6% of the stated 265 kWh range they claim their new batteries get after 6 months. That is a ridiculous amount of degradation.

Good way to look at it. I love the car and have had no problems with it since they put in the new battery. Perhaps their service will improve as they grow. They are still relatively new. Thanks again for all the information/help.

I will try to get a better picture and post it. That's good to hear that there were not different part numbers for P85 vs. regular 85 batteries. I appreciate the info. You are definitely more knowledgeable and helpful than anyone I have talked to at Tesla.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have driven it down to about 20-25 miles before but never to 10. Can the range estimate on a new battery change within a few months ? I was under the impression that all new 85 kwh batteries had a 265 mile range for at least a few years when it starts to degrade.

I agree. It is nice getting to see/drive the car before you buy it. But I guess I'm safe going through the CPO. Tesla wouldn't stay in business long if they sold used lemons for $50K.

I would recommend ev-cpo or teslainventory. I bought my CPO after getting their updates on cars that fit within my budget.

I would consider spending the extra money if you can swing it. In my opinion a used Model S far outweighs a new Model 3. Good luck with whatever car you decide to get.

I just bought a CPO 2013 P85 w/ full warranty. Yours has lots of extras though, so I'm sure you'll get offers.

I've already seen one that meets all those requirements for $54K and a CPO with 80K miles for $50K. Both P85's. So I'm pretty sure I won't be waiting too long. Congrats on getting a new one! If I had 80K I wouldn't wait either. :)

I've had the same problem with Tesla reps getting back to me in the U.S. (CA). If they are that bad about responding to potential buyers I can only imagine how long it would take to get a reply if I needed service work done. Good luck getting a reply.

Yeah, the AP is very tempting. Just worried about giving up range and possibly a little power. If I can find a late 2014 85 w/ AP, that would be awesome, but under 50K may be difficult.

There's one listed on here for 53K. And I've seen a few on craigslist in the low to mid 50's.

I think it may be a little more of a difference for the 70, but a one year newer vehicle will have less battery degradation, assuming miles are similar on both cars. Thanks for the advice on full charging them. I think I need to do more research on AP so I know everything it adds to the car.
