Procedure to service 2017 model S (or X) Mando rear calipers

I have a 2017 Model S 75D and would appreciate any guidance where I can find information on how to service the rear mando calipers. Even brake pad manufacturers are confused buy listing the same brake pad part number for rear brembo and mando calipers which is 💯 wrong - this is Centric/stoptech...

2018 Model S 75D - warranty about to expire - things to check?

If you have air suspension get that checked as well. I assume this it the normal warranty not ESA? I brought my car into have them look at the one Corner that seem to be saving over night - they presented me with a $9k CAD estimate to replace all four shocks. Nice. No thank you. ESA won’t...

BBS CHR 19” satin black - anyone have these?

Too funny! I remember researching getting a set of those Tesla Aero wheels - they are around but not cheap - I was going to get a set and just have them powered coated gloss black....my sales person told me the stores couldn't sell them and were giving them away with winter tires.....he referred...

    Homelink and Liftmaster 8500

My Liftmaster is working again with my Tesla. It stoped working this spring and I didn’t bother with it as I was mainly driving another vehicle. When I started driving the Tesla again months later, it still didn’t work. I just kept pressing the home button on the screen and eventually it worked...

    Cleaning chocolate from multipatern seats

i love the multi pattern interior since getting my car last September. Yesterday, somehow my daughter ended up getting a Hershey kiss between her and the seat during a 1 hour drive - it melted and stained the seat. Any advice on how to remove chocolate stains?

BBS CHR 19” satin black - anyone have these?

Thank you. I struggled with giving up my new 21” Arachnids as there was a 13% hit in range for my 75D. The 21” BBS CHR are stunning but you will give up some range and ride quality. Sure the 19” don’t look as nice but I couldn’t be happier with the 19” ride comfort and range efficiency.

BBS CHR 19” satin black - anyone have these?

Wheels are about 5lbs lighter than slipstreams although being 1/2” wider. I was going to remove the stainless curb ring but the look is growing on me.

    Those “cheap tires” review

I wouldn’t characterize the model S as having horrible stopping distance - that’s being a little dramatic ;-)

    Those “cheap tires” review

I’m in the process of investigating tires for summer only. I have been contributing to a thread as I find information. For me low rolling resistance is important as well as dry/wet braking. The Primacy3 in a 245/45r19 102y is my choice - waiting for it to be released ! My second choice is the...

    21” Aracnids vs 19” Slipstreams

Ride quality is relative - although I agree with you that the 19” are significantly better - Tesla still rides pretty nice considering they are 21” - my neighbors who rode with me in a 21” equipped S thought the ride was pretty smooth and i was being picky...

    21” Aracnids vs 19” Slipstreams

Ask Tesla - These are Tesla test results - I’m just glad there are numbers based on testing rather than the standard “...about 5% range loss” the sc were communicating. Look at the model x loss for the 22” upgrade....no thanks!

Abstract Ocean leather pocket Loved the silicon but the leather slides easier in and out of my pockets.

    21” Aracnids vs 19” Slipstreams

There is a 11.8% loss in range on a 75d going to 21”.

    Those “cheap tires” review

I live in the suburbs however commute through a a big city 2 times a week. Each time it rains or it’s damp with the sudden stop and go traffic there are so many accidents. A few feet can only help .... personally why wouldn’t you get decent tires - there are so many options with the internet to...

I learned today from Michelin the Primacy 3 is not yet available. Hopefully soon. there is a 245/45 R19 102Y Pilot Sport 3 “TO” Tesla OEM!! It’s an Acoustic tire! Anyone tried the pilot sport 3 “TO” verson?

New tire time - anything quieter than the Michelin Primacy for 19"s?

Thanks - Which specific Primacy version are you referring to? The Primacy 3 has launched an new version is 2017. The Primacy 3 ST is also new but only in Australia? Also I fould the Euro label for the Goodyear Eagle Touring which are rated a “c” for fuel economy.

Pilot sport 3 vs Primacy 3 these ar

Interesting comparison on the Michelin site Primacy 3 vs Pilot Sport 3 ( both LRR and summer only). Euro label for the 245/45 19 102Y Primacy 3. Seems cost aside - the Primacy 3 is the best summer Michelin tire for Tesla’s....

New tire time - anything quieter than the Michelin Primacy for 19"s?

Thank you for clarifying. I don’t understand how the primacy is deemed higher performance tire - braking/handling than the pilot sport 3 ? This Primacy 3 seems like an amazing tire if true!

Pilot sport 3 vs Primacy 3 these ar

That’s great! Can you confirm the Primacy tire you had ? Was it the summer only “3” or the all season “MXM4” ?

New tire time - anything quieter than the Michelin Primacy for 19"s?

I’m exploring Michelin LRR summer tires and the Pilot 3 and Primacy 3 Are summer only (GreenX). The Euro label is for the Primacy 3 for the 245/45 R19 102Y which shows a “B” rating for fuel economy- the pilot sport 3 is a “C” which is still good. The AS3+ is a great tire as well but not...

Pilot sport 3 vs Primacy 3 these ar

Thanks so much for the feedback! Im just going to confirm if the Primacy 3 is a run flat - if it is - it’s off my list. I have a new set of 19” BBS wheels on the way and I was just going to harvest the good year eagle touring tires, however I was pleasantly suprised I have some Michelin LRR...

Pilot sport 3 vs Primacy 3 these ar

I’m researching summer Michelin low rolling resistance tires and these are my finalists. I know the Pilot sport 3 is a higher performance tire (yet LRR) however the Primacy 3 is marginally more efficient - rated a “B” on the Euro lable compared to a “C” for the pilot sport. Anyone have any...

BBS CHR 19” satin black - anyone have these?

Well I ordered a set of satin black 19x8.5” et32 that are on the way here from Germany. So these are only .5” wider than the OEM 19” wheels however the outer lip will extend 14mm. I also found this info showing the different profiles based on width. Sadly the 8.5” have tge flattest profile.

Brand New Arachnids - Toronto Area

Thanks! These all also perfect for those ordering a new Model S and considering 21” wheels. Why pay $6k for the 21” wheels when you can pay less and get superior factory 21” and keep your 19” for winter wheels. Good luck! These are really nice high quality OEM option not available to those...

    19" vs 20" pics?

I picked up my new MS just before winter last year and found a set of OEM double spikes that I had powder coated gloss black. Put on some nokians and I was set for the winter. The look of these OEM wheels in black had grown on me and I love the ride on 19”. I would have damaged my wheels monthly...

Show me those Arachnid wheels / Spiders!

Very slick. I thought all original Tesla wheels are simply painted - not powdercoated. Do you know which powdercoat supplier is used ? I.e. Prismantic Powders? Do you know the name of the colour?

Red Brake Calipers - incredible work and price!

Red Brake Calipers - incredible work and price!

I had mine done today at Spence Tire. Red with reflective white lettering. It’s amazing how the front calipers look so much bigger in red (I previously thought the P cars had bigger front calipers until I was corrected on this forum). For the rear calipers, I didn’t get any responses on how...

New Rear Brake Calipers For non-Performance Model S and X

Has any more information surfaced on these new rear calipers? Are there any disassembly instructions? It looks like the “Tesla” cover (made to mimic a 4 piston caliper) may be able to be removed for painting ( rather than painting the cast bits). Look forward to your reply!
