Vendor Tesla Model S Battery Extended Service Plans from 057 Technology

Based on his last longer post, as I understand it, his contract in selling the business had a stipulation for a minimum amount of time that he would work at 057 after the sale. This would be a very standard agreement, as he has so much knowledge, and many times, when selling the business the...

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Any update at all, Haymaker? My 2014 P85D battery is also being replaced currently... I expect it to be done early/mid next week I think. I have seen some P85Ds being replaced with 90kW packs, refurbished old PN 85kW packs, and now the new PN 85kW pack. Curious to find out which one I get...

    Will AP1 ever get FSD?

I do understand your reasons, thanks for your explanation. Can you list all the improvements your modified car can do that the normal AP1 cars can't? Just curious on how much more functionality you achieved. I'm not holding my breath at all, but it would be really nice if Tesla ever upgraded...

    Will AP1 ever get FSD?

@wk057 - I know you have said that it was a LOT of work to upgrade your (ex-wife's?) care to AP1, and would be cost prohibitive because of this. What about the software enhancements you made to AP1 noted above, could you modify existing AP1 cars similarly for a fee? What upgrades did you do for...

    Driver Assist Features Unavailable

Funny you say that. I was going to send an email to the Tesla Service Center yesterday, but ran out of time, so planned on doing it today. Last night, after work, with temps in the single digits, it just started working again, after not working for about 5 days. Ran another errand last night...

    Driver Assist Features Unavailable

Vinade, let me know what they tell you if you take it into the SC! My garage isn't heated, but it is an attached garage, so rarely gets below freezing in there (it has been below freezing in it Sunday and Monday with the outdoor temps below zero F here. Like you, just moments after I shift into...

    Driver Assist Features Unavailable

I have a P85D with AutoPilot 1. On Friday, coming home from work, we had a decent snow storm here. After driving in the snow for about 15-20 minutes the "Driver Assist Features Unavailable - if problem persists, contact Tesla Service". No big deal I thought at the time, the front camera probably...

Change to Climate Control in Tesla App after 46.2

I have noticed recently that it only turns on the heat (just the red arrows showing coming from the windshield). After a minute or so, it will turn on the seat heaters and defrost (those icons are added). After another minute or so, it will turn on the battery heater, and show that icon also. I...

Rumor summary: Blind-spot cameras, Rain sensing, Level 3, Big battery, Interior/HUD

I agree, but the point is still that the car is capable of tracking. Similar to the //M series for BMW. Most owners do not tack their car to the track, but the point is that they are capable of being tracked.

Rumor summary: Blind-spot cameras, Rain sensing, Level 3, Big battery, Interior/HUD

I don't think there is much of a benefit of the S getting a "track mode". The induction motors on the S simply do not work well at all on the track. Thermal management is a much bigger issue with them, and they really aren't capable of doing more than a lap or two before they get too hot.

    Version 9 on AP1

You can collapse the media player down to about two inches or so to the bottom of the window, with the rear camera (or energy graph) on top of that. With it like this, you still see about 1/3 of the top portion of the screen for the nav. If you tap the drag handle of the media player, it just...

Hold Steering Wheel every 20-25 seconds?

This has to be a case of cars behaving differently. I am on version 2018.21.9 with AP1. I have driven about 400-500 miles with autopilot, with 200 of those miles in a single trip. I have gotten 3 nags so far. A combination of 1 hand and 2 hands on the wheel, not changing how I hold the wheel at...

    Rear Facing Seats Wanted

Yes, I mentioned this in my post above. The rear bumper support can be sourced and installed as well. It's bolted underneath the steel bumper, and all cars have the nuts and bolts already in place there for the support.
  16. D

    Rear Facing Seats Wanted

You can fit 3 car seats across pretty easily if the middle one is rear facing. I currently have 2 narrow car seats (all the Diono's are pretty narrow for instance) on the outsides and the middle is the baby carrier with the snap-in base. To get the rear facing seats and the bumper support...

    2016.5 AP2 P100DL Model S

You can add the rear seats yourself. There is a DIY here on the boards for it. It is pretty straight forward, I did it on my car. The most difficult thing is just sourcing the seats, hardware, and rear bumper support. They pop up from time to time on the Parts for sale section on the forum here...

    MS P85DL value

I am going to try both angles to see if I get anywhere, but I am not optimistic.. Any advice as to if I should start with an email or a phone call??
  21. D

    MS P85DL value

You should be able to extrapolate and get very close to actual full rated mileage. Occasionally, a deep discharge to 10-20% and then subsequent charge to 100% can help calibrate the range rating. Aside from that factor, extrapolating should be accurate. How many miles do you have yours?

    MS P85DL value

I came out from work one night and the car had several error/warning messages about the 12V battery, and was not able to be driven at all. Tesla roadside Ubered me home, and had the car towed to my house. Tesla reviewed the log files of the car and said they needed to send it to a Service Center...

    MS P85DL value

I just had the 85kW battery replaced on my P85D a couple of weeks ago. Based on what I read here from a few people, I was hoping they would replace it with a 90kW. I spoke with the Service Manager, and he suspected that they would replace it with a 90kW also, that is what he had seen done in the...

    Would you buy a 2014 Model S P85D now

I agree completely. My previous car to my Tesla was a BMW M3. LOVED the way that car handled. Never found the ride to be "too stiff." My Tesla is a P85D with the plus suspension, and I would never want it to be any softer. The car is not nearly as "tossable" as my M3 was, it is a MUCH bigger and...

What are the prospects for a battery upgrade for the P85D

    12V Battery Dead

Just got a call from Tesla! They said they reviewed the cars logs, and "saw intermittent issues" and need to take it into the Service Center to look it over. I imagine you are correct about the DC-DC converter.. They are sending a flatbed up tonight to pick the car up and bring it down there...

    12V Battery Dead

Also, I have no idea why the battery would die like this. It isn't that cold here, and the paperwork the previous owner showed me, the battery was replaced a few months before I bought the car this past December. It went from zero warning, to too dead to drive the car at all. Then when after the...

    12V Battery Dead

When I came out of work and got into my car, it had several error messages, 12V battery low - car my not restart, car needs service - car cannot be driven, caution - reduced acceleration, etc. It would not shift into drive or reverse. I called Tesla roadside assistance, talked with customer...

HOW TO: Install 3rd row Jump seats for your miserable children...

I would look elsewhere like you said. There is no reason for them not to remove the two hip strikers (its 2 bolts each, 4 bolts total), and they are already removing the two bolts the seats attach to the car where they pivot, no reason not to include those and also slide out the barrel nut. The...

HOW TO: Install 3rd row Jump seats for your miserable children...

The best/easiest way to get all the miscellaneous hardware is to source them from the same person you are getting the seat from. There is no reason that when removing the seat, they can't remove all the hardware with it. If it is a parted out car, you should get everything with the seats, if it...

P100D vs my P85D: if you're looking at CPO

Since the P85D to ludicrous upgrade is discontinued now by Tesla, I wonder if this is something that wk057 (or his HSR Motors) would offer...?? And if so, what the cost would be?

Discussion for Model S owners considering moving into a Model 3

My original plan was to wait for the Model 3 with AWD and the performance model. Coming from a BMW M3, I prefer the smaller, more nimble, more tossable handling of a smaller, lighter car. Being more affordable than the AWD performance S is also nice. Then we unexpectedly got pregnant with our...

    2015 P85D Model S for Sale

You can install yourself, if you would like to. I just installed mine last month. Broken Wiper Spring when in service mode

I did the same thing. First time washing my car, put the wipers in Service Mode, and tried to pull them away from the windshield so that I could wash underneath them, and popped the spring and the connector link off. Fortunately nothing broke and I saw where both parts flew. My service center is...
