Firsthand comparison from an owner of both, between the Rivian SUV and Tesla Model X. The only EV 7-seater SUV's available.

The value held up well given that I got the Model X before the prices went up a couple years ago. I did not lose any money and made about 10K. This is partly due to the fact that used car prices of all brands went up a lot in the last few months and are going down now. By the time you get to...

2019 Model X Standard Range - Worth it in 2022?

@rocketshipp85 , @ElectricIAC - Sorry folks. Seeing this late and I am on the move. Will DM you both later this evening.

2019 Model X Standard Range - Worth it in 2022?

Finally, made the decision to sell my 2019 MX SR :-(. My RIvian is the darling of the family now and the kids, wife love the R1S ride comfort compared to the Model X. Visiting a few dealers this week due to the freezing weather last week.

Firsthand comparison from an owner of both, between the Rivian SUV and Tesla Model X. The only EV 7-seater SUV's available.

For me personally, compared to my Model S and my Model X, the Rivian seats are such a blessing ! The sporty ride of the Model X (Raven adaptive suspension) and the smooth ride of the Rivian probably play into the seats, ride comfort as well. The post-pandemic work situation has tilted me...

Firsthand comparison from an owner of both, between the Rivian SUV and Tesla Model X. The only EV 7-seater SUV's available.

I am comparing it to my 2019 MX and doing an apple to apple comparison based on the alternating drives we have been doing as a family. I have a Rivian SC near me in Seattle and they are opening a couple more. With the prices for Model X going skywards after the refresh and not a lot of comfort...

Firsthand comparison from an owner of both, between the Rivian SUV and Tesla Model X. The only EV 7-seater SUV's available.

I am selling my Model X as the family loves the R1S. R1S ride comfort is way better than the Model X. Long trips are more enjoyable compared to the Model . Tesla scores on the autopilot tech. That was the main reason why bought a Tesla. The Rivian ADAS is better than most legacy automakers that...

Going from 2022.20.8 to 2022.24.5 – radar removal or not?

@T.R.T.e.s.l.a. - I hope you hold-out as long as you can. If ever you go to the service center, tell them specifically that you do not want a software upgrade. The autopilot is OK but it gives off when the visibility is not so good. It is foggy most days here in Seattle this time of the year...

Going from 2022.20.8 to 2022.24.5 – radar removal or not?

You are right. It is always cumulative and that is why I held out. They carried out the update without my permission. I could fight it out with the service center but it will get ugly. I got a new Rivian R1S at home & I am loving it so I am anyway inclined to sell my Model X. Not worth the...

Going from 2022.20.8 to 2022.24.5 – radar removal or not?

With the update that the SC carried out, many cumulative ones have been applied. Just noticed today that I cannot reduce the car length to 1 while using autopilot. I was able to do that until I went to the SC. Now the minimum is 2. It's possible that radar was disabled in 20.9 but since I was...

Going from 2022.20.8 to 2022.24.5 – radar removal or not?

For a long time, I was refusing the updates and was stuck at 20.9. Last week had to take the car to SC for a windshield replacement and they ended up updating it to 44.2. I looked at all the release notes. I do not see a 'You are on Tesla vision' message. There is one release which says that the...

Cyberstream wheels on previous gen Model X

No, that's not mandatory. I got the black version coz the wheels are black and I didn't want the silver colored valve.
  12. johnking

Cyberstream wheels on previous gen Model X

I have been using an independent alignment workshop to get my alignment done. Since I have installed the N2uitive kit to lower the suspension, my alignment is a custom alignment. If you are using stock settings on your vehicle, the SC will do the alignment as per their stock settings. If you...

Cyberstream wheels on previous gen Model X

@rajbsn - Sorry for the delay. I haven't noticed any significant difference in the gap. From my initial pictures when Tesla had the car on sale. I am uploading a few pictures for reference. The one with the silver wheel is Tesla's original picture. You can see that the arms are so close to the...

Going from 2022.20.8 to 2022.24.5 – radar removal or not?

Per what I have ready so far. It is 2022.24.8 that disables radar. If you install 2022.24.8 and then go to the release notes of 2022.20.9, there is a mention of Tesla vision. I have 2022.20.9 and I am ignoring the prompt for installing 2.22.24.8 as I do not wanna lose the radar ! It will be...

Going from 2022.20.8 to 2022.24.5 – radar removal or not?

Will avoid the update as long as I possibly can. Have been ignoring it for the past week. At some point, I know I will be forced to install. For now, I am not happy with the forced removal of radar inputs for AP. A supply chain problem that Tesla had last year shouldn't force all of us to lose...

Cyberstream wheels on previous gen Model X

Here is an update for anyone who wants to know if the Cyberstream wheels fit and work on a pre-2022 Model X. I bought a ~200 miles aged 2022 MX Cyberstream wheel + stock tires package from eBay and had my alignment shop fit the tires onto my car. The seller did not have the TPMS included and if...

2019 Model X Standard Range - Worth it in 2022?

The rubbing sound happened to me as well when they replaced the half shafts but over time it has gone away. I thought it was some sealant that they put which wore off / got absorbed eventually. I had the half shafts replaced around the 8K mile mark and also installed the N2uitive shudder...

2019 Model X Standard Range - Worth it in 2022?

I have a SR MX from 2019. Before that, I had a Model S 75D. The SR MX has the same range as the S 75D which is ~254 Miles. I love the SR that I have and the battery, new magnetic Raven motors and the upgraded Adaptive suspension make my ride way smoother than my Model S. I have never had range...

Does this mean it has FSD? (Buying used model x)

I agree with folks have said on this thread. If the previous owner had FSD subscription, it would also state 'Included Package'. In such a case, the subscription will expire at the end of the month. Someone who has the FSD subscription can probably add more details to help OP.

Firsthand comparison from an owner of both, between the Rivian SUV and Tesla Model X. The only EV 7-seater SUV's available.

@kizamybute' - Thanks for the write-up. I think it is a fair balanced comparison as you own both. Still waiting for my R1S to be delivered and will be able to compare it with my X as well. Per my current plan, I plan to keep both and not trade my X in for the R1S.

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

So here's what I did for the shudder finally. 1. Fixed an SC appointment and had them replace the front two clevis mounts. They did that without any questions asked. 2. About a month later, I installed the N2itive kit 1. - Alignment Kit 1 - Acceleration Shudder & Inner Tire Wear - Tesla Model...

    2019 Model X - Raven, Standard Range, 5 seats. - What's it worth?

The Raven 75KW batteries are different from the 75KW ones produced before. My 2017 Model S had the 75KW with the 400 VDC and the Raven 75KW I have is a 350 VDC. Which means it can charge above 120KW speed during supercharging. Attached is my most recent supercharging pic. My MX SR gives the same...

Tesla Service: SC says they will charge 0.5 hour diagnostic fee for vibrations, noise issues - Model X

Tesla Service: SC says they will charge 0.5 hour diagnostic fee for vibrations, noise issues - Model X

Not exactly sure if it is reasonable as Tesla cars are not the quietest on the freeway (and this is my 2nd Tesla). It has been getting better as the years go by. My BMW X3 is quieter on the freeway than my X. I think this suddenly takes away the friendly approach that the service centers have...

Tesla Service: SC says they will charge 0.5 hour diagnostic fee for vibrations, noise issues - Model X

First Refreshed Model X Deliveries in July

Good luck and definitely your choice ! Here is on of my previous posts on why Tesla has to earn the business. All the Best !! Hope it works out and there is a Model X for you at the end of your lease. Agree about the tyre wear. I had taken my Model S to a wheel works shop to get rid of some...

First Refreshed Model X Deliveries in July

I was in the same boat as yours last Dec hoping that the refreshed Model X will be available as my lease was ending. I extended my lease on a month on month basis. Used Model X, Year to Buy?

Sharing my expectations and experience. Over the weekend, I bought a used 2019 Raven SR Model X. I was on a month on month extended lease on my 2017 Model S so it was easy to return it and buy the newer car. The range of the SR is more than enough for my needs and with COVID, there's not a lot...

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

I see your point. Tesla is always gonna be ahead in the 3 angles mentioned (software, performance, battery) as it has had a great headstart. It's gonna be tough for any automaker to be at par. They will need to come up with differential value as they chase Tesla. I would look at the 'catch-up'...

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

The price tag draws comparisons to features in luxury cars inevitably. Audi, Merc, BMW all have a great ride comfort and the massage seats play a role when you need it. You might not need it for your daily drive but on a long day you have it at your disposal. Turn on the massage along with the...

Best contact method get Tesla support help?

If the issues are threatening safety, then swing by the service center and ask for a walk-in. Otherwise, I would fix an appointment in the app and list the issues.
