Went to the service center today for a long standing rattle noise issue. I was told Tesla will charge $175 for the diagnosis to start with. Even after a road test, they deny it is something caused by Tesla bad assembly, they still will charge $175. This is the service center in Santa Clara CA...

Ordered last Thursday and AP was activated last evening. No need to be on Wifi and the update can happen during charging. I was at work without connecting to wifi and the car was plugged in all day and it still gets the update.

If you just carry the fob without the paired phone, how do you start the car? Will the car recognize the fob and let you shift gear to Drive?

Autosteering is a just a "small taste" of the future because it is not mature yet. Even Tesla calls it a beta version. People can choose to be a beta tester or not and I choose not to at this point. It is not like saying I won't buy AP forever.
