Black Horse PCP and new servicing (or not as the case may be)

Spoke with my local SC last week regarding booking a service and getting some other work done. They told my that they only service and charge for things that actually need working on rather than charging a set price for a service. This should reduce service costs, hopefully it will anyway

    Home charging options

I think they only have tariff, so everyone is on the same, there isn’t an off peak option. Below are the electric rates; Unit rate - Any Time: 12.16381 p/kWh Standing charge: 21.2 p/day

    Home charging options

As an existing Scottish Power customer of 15yrs, I tried to switch to this EV tariff when my last tariff was ending. They told me that as an existing customer they couldn’t offer me the EV tariff...they literally couldn’t find the tariff on their system even after I gave them the exact URL on...

My WiFi doesn't seem to work as it should

Does your phone allow you to create a ‘Personal Hotspot’? If it does, connect your phone to your home WiFi, sit in the car and create a Personal Hotspof’ on your phone then connect the car to the hotspot. Not sure how you’d do it on Android...the above is for iPhone.

    Tyre fitters in Bucks/MK area?

I had a punctured tyre replaced last week by ATS Euromaster, Kingsthorpe Rd, Northampton NN2 6LW They are contracted to Tesla so know how to handle the cars and all their quirks. Tyre was replaced with exact same tyre (Michelin Pilot 3 TO), which at £277 was £70 dearer than the same model of...

    Best energy tariffs

Agreed - Peoples Energy said they couldn't take readings from smart meters as they are not setup to do so and it would be costly to change, but they would continue to look at possibility of taking reading themselves in future.

    Best energy tariffs

Cheers Jayc, I got the best quote from People Energy so have signed up with them...if they turn out to be rubbish I can easily switch again to another supplier.

    Best energy tariffs

My energy tariff is expiring in a couple of months so I’ve started looking around for the best deals especially in terms of electricity prices. I probably use about 50 KW per week charging my MS via my TWC at home. I’m currently with Scottish Power with an electricity rate of approx 20p daily...

    Best for insurance?

Try LV, they were best for me, but as already mentioned, each person's circumstances are different so shop around to find the best quote for you.

    V9 DashCam

A quick google around and I found out this is how it's supposed to work. It saves 60*1 min mp4 files, overwriting the oldest over time, these are named 'recent-front cam-date/time.mp4', then when you press save int renames the last 10 files to 'saved-front-cam-date/time.mp4' so they don't get...

    V9 DashCam

V9 landed last night in my MS, installed it straight away. I'd already bought a tiny 65GB flash drive, formatted it, created the root folder as instructed and plugged it into one of the front USB slots in readiness with V9 dropping. Went out for first drive today, all seemed to be working well...

    Charging in Europe

Have to agree..plenty of chargers around Europe. I’m currently in Spain and so far it’s cosf £0 to charge on our trip, we’ve either stopped often at Super Chargers, when available, or charged at the destination charger in our hotel (hotel choice was because it had a charger). We’re going to take...

    Charging in Europe

Thanks for your Reply Wannabe, lots of info there, cheers. I've got a Chademo and may look at getting one of those Schuko adaptors for a 'just in case' scenario but looking at the route to Northern Spain on A Better Route Planner there seem to be plenty of Superchargers en route and even one at...

    Charging in Europe

OK, am thinking of taking a road trip somewhere in Europe in the next week or two. There are plenty of Super Chargers showing in EU, but what happens if I need alternative charging? What 3rd party options are there?, do I need to register an app or buy a charge card ? Worse case scenario would...

    UK Ranger service

New door mirror fitted, very happy with service provided by the ranger. Hopefully won’t have to call on them again any time soon, but nice to know they are there if needed.

    UK Ranger service

I had an SC appointment booked for 17th Sep to replace, what seems like, a loose wing mirror which makes a horrid racket when closing the drivers door. I was contacted today and told the closest SC (Milton Keynes) are starting a Ranger service and he could come see me at home in Northampton on...

    Insurance

LV were my cheapest by quite a long way, plus I had 2 claims and a wife to add so was quite impressed. Try a few different compare sites, you may get different results.

About to order, a couple of questions

Now is a good time to buy due to PUP being included as standard and not an additional option cost. Supercharging is still a free referral option too, who knows how long that will last? As others have mentioned, the finance rates are cheaper for a new inventory car rather than a custom design...

    Chademo or no Chademo?

Thanks for replies chaps. I think I’m going to bite the bullet and get one...if only for extra charging opportunities when travelling far and wide. Most helpful, cheers

    Chademo or no Chademo?

Ok, I’ve been considering forking out the extorniate price for a Chademo adapter to give me more charging opportunities during long distance travelling. Reason being that the places that I mostly travel long distances to don’t have nearby SC on route and there seems to be more Chademo chargers...

    Insurance UK

I found DL quite expensive (£790) my best quote came from LV through a compare site..£440 protected no claims + 2nd driver, £250 vol excess. I’ve also got 2 previous claims in the last 5yrs so was quite impressed.
