I have left bird poop on my car for weeks on end in 100 degree days and it has never ate through the coating. Stained it yes but after a couple of days the stain goes away. It has never fully ate through the coating.

If you have a garage then you could get a propane heater like I used to use when mobile. Does a great job of heating a garage from -20 to 50 or so degrees. As far was what to use I would highly recommend Optimum No Rinse

You can re-install the badges just fine over the top of the coating. If you want to be absolutely certain just take a polish on a microfiber towel and rub in the area you want to install the badges and then alcohol wipe, install the badges and then recoat if necessary.
