I forgot to update this thread as well. Mobile service came out and sprayed silicon lubricant into door handles and latches. Problem seems to have gone away although a few minutes ago the problem showed up one time again. So I’ll keep an eye on it.

fseir- This is pretty much the same scenario that happened to me. If you wait an hour or so, try opening the door again and see if the Tesla turns on. Mine seemed to click back to the big battery after a few hours sometimes. At least it gives you enough to drive the car into the service...

Mine has been black for 3 days now with a bunch of hard and soft resets. I’m really tired of this since the 3 has such a large back end and it’s hard to see while in reverse without the camera.

That’s how all cars work. Because people smash the glass then open the door using inside door handle.

It would be great IMO if the model 3 had camping mode that could be activated from the screen. Put it right next to dog mode.

I have done this drive as well. Don't forget that you need to go over an always windy mountain range between AZ-CA, and then if you are driving out of LA, another mountain range. Going uphill really doesn't help your efficiency, even if regenerative braking is going to help a little going down...
