Welcome to Tesla ownership. Best advice I can give you is to learn to live without some of these basic features. It does other things extremely well so try not to focus on its deficiencies.

I’m not sure why anyone believes any of the aspirational stuff with Tesla. They’re great cars for what they can actually do and they’d be even better if they didn’t continue to lie about the self driving stuff. At least people wouldn’t be perpetually disappointed. It doesn’t affect me at all...

I had a similar experience when getting my car towed. It’s not as seamless as it should be, especially during a stressful situation. When you put the car into tow mode it should just remind you to place the key card. Simple as that.

I think it’s both. A few more people might use it if it were reliably functional but I don’t think parking is ever going to be a thing that a lot of people feel they need assistance with. I’m not surprised that Tesla doesn’t invest in it although they should really be embarrassed.

A good reason to stick with the factory tire is in case you do get a flat it’ll be much less of a hassle. I know from experience.

Couldn’t agree more. The placement is WAY better for me in the 3 than any other car I’ve driven. It’s obvious to me that Tesla doesn’t offer it because it would be truly redundant, which is the opposite of the overall interior design intent.

I find it much easier to “party” indoors (i.e. in my house or a hotel) than inside a car.

Sounds like the same thing to me. It’s not motor related. In my case the sound changed along with wheel speed, not motor speed. The fact that you didn’t hear it in reverse pretty much confirms that was the case for you as well.

I’ve been running these exact tires for 4 months and I concur they are great. I can’t speak for their snow performance since it doesn’t snow in the northeast anymore but overall they’re excellent. I’ve read a lot of complaints about road noise but that has not yet materialized I’m my case.

They definitely degrade. The question is what does 300k mile degradation look like and how does it compare to ice degradation? I’d be curious to know if 3-400k on an electric motor is similar to say 50-100k on an ice in terms of performance and reliability.

It’s a little different. With hardware there are damages/losses incurred. With software it’s a matter of flipping a bit. Doesn’t cost Tesla to turn it on and off like it would cost Apple if you returned an iPad or something.

I would never use bleach or alcohol on any surface in the car except maybe the glass. As others have suggested, cleaning the interior is not going to reduce your risk for catching COVID19. Washing your hands often and refraining from touching your face most certainly will.
