It is 12 oz not 12 grams. Mine works 100% of the time with 12 oz, my friends works 80% of the time with 12 oz. So might need a little more in some cases.

Those are very similar to the weights I use in my 3D printed box. The box just makes it easier to remove if I ever want to (which so far I haven't).

The issue with a sock on the wheel is that if you do have to make a turn the sock weight is going to be swinging around wildly and is very dangerous. I have heard of people using a 3d printed box found on Thingiverse that is a safer alternative. ;)

You have the choice to just not use them at all. I don't understand doing it half-assed. Either do all or none.

I haven't read the whole thread so this may have already been answered, but you may want to looking into switching to PG&E's EV plan. With it I pay $0.11/KwH during off-peak hours.

For me it was more cost effective to switch to the EV plan with PGE which only charges me $0.11/kWh overnight and just letting what little excess solar power I produced go back into the grid. It wasn’t an easy calculation but once I had it it showed that the EV plan cost me a lot less.

Bought it the day after it was announced that it was going back up in price. I had been planning to purchase it at whatever price when it actually became a real product. The promise of FSD is why bought the Tesla originally. The price drop made me pull the trigger.

2019.5.15 actually helped my car from sleeping too deeply. About 50% of the time that I got in the car the screen would be black and would typically take 45-60 seconds to reboot. I suspect the fix for that problem is related to your issue.

My screen used to be black and have to reboot about 50% of the time whenever I got in the car. Annoying. With the latest 2019.5.4 update I have not had the black screen at all. It's been over a week now. I didn't realize how much of an irritant it truly was until it went away.

Check the drive. Sentry mode filled up by 32Gb drive after 2 uses. Turns out it doesn't turn off when you get in the car and will record your entire drive home filling the memory quickly.

This is a known bug where it goes too deeply asleep and is basically rebooting. Some people have taken it to the SC and gotten the screen CPU replaced. Mine used to do it 50% of the time until the latest update 2019.50.4. Since then hasn't happened in over a week.

You can not save longer clips of time. You could turn off the dashcam after using a valet so the files don't get overwritten and then compile all of the 1-min clips into a longer clip.

That is true, but the Tesla is not using the free account, it is some form of premium.
