    17.26.76

Got the notification for 26.76 the night before we left for a multi-state (and parts of Canada) road trip. I have been happy with AP2.0 performance, and had just a few days previous gotten the upgrade to 26.17. Thinking that perhaps the .17->.76 might fix a critical bug, I installed it...

San Marcos Supercharger: Is it just really slow?

Plugged in again tonight, 37% SOC. Charge jumped to 115KW and stayed there for about three minutes, then fell to 30KW. I moved the car (I was the only one there at the time) and again, charging started at 115KW and fell to 30KW, then leveled off to 40KW. I called Tesla, and they said they were...

San Marcos Supercharger: Is it just really slow?

I should mention... I was at about 27% SOC, and it is a nice 78° and breezy. Gave up when I hit 236 miles of Rated range because I just wanted to go unwind at the hotel.

San Marcos Supercharger: Is it just really slow?

Drove down to San Marcos, TX (south of Austin) from Northwest Indiana this weekend to visit in-laws. Started on Friday afternoon, stopped overnight in St. Louis and OK City (4 and 6-year old traveling with us). Destination charging in both STL and OKC, worked like a charm. Every Supercharger...

    Software Update Available! HW2 car!

I might turn off WiFi while at work tomorrow, so the car will be on LTE and WiFi for 12 hours each. I wonder if they push updates during the day?

    Software Update Available! HW2 car!

Wow, your service center is lightyears more helpful than mine. I couldn't even get the guy to verify if my car was even in the queue!!

    Software Update Available! HW2 car!

Same boat here. Picked up my P100D in December, late last week finally got the .36 update. No .120 update yet. The only time the car isn't connected to WiFi is when I'm driving it (WiFi connections at home and work).

    Buying Inventory vs. Custom Build

Thanks to everyone for their feedback. I showed this post to my wife this morning, and that seemed to really calm her fears. I think she felt like a loaner car would be treated like a rental car. Just waiting to hear back from Tesla on one question. For those of you interested, the discount is...

    Buying Inventory vs. Custom Build

The ventilated seats are part of the Premium Interior Package when paired with the Premium Seats. According to the spec sheet, this build has both, so I would be very surprised if the car didn't include this option.

    Buying Inventory vs. Custom Build

Ha, that's the exact same thought I had! I babied my P85 when I first got it and was totally frosted for about a week when it got its first scratch. Having even curb rash on the rims would settle me down quite a bit.

    Buying Inventory vs. Custom Build

Short story: I ordered my P100D a few weeks ago to upgrade from my 2013 P85 (one of the rare green ones!). Got an email from Tesla this evening stating they have two vehicle that almost exactly match my custom build (only difference is interior colors, meh, I don't care about that). One car has...

    Fill 'er up, please!

This is a case of "Like son, like father." I ordered my MS a year and a half before they were available. When I took delivery, my dad had his on order within three days. He's now since upgraded to the P85D, while I'm still rolling in my original P85. So, his is spec'd better now, but I still...

    teslaweather.com Update

This is because the site where I'm getting the Metro radar does not have an image for the San Diego area. The closest metro radar image is in LA. There are only two available images for CA... the area around LA and the area around San Francisco.

    teslaweather.com Update

Yeah, sorry about that  The site where I'm getting the info from does not have satellite imagery for Hawaii (or, more specifically, anything outside the Continental US) in an easy-to-grab way. I'll dig in a bit deeper and see if I can find a suitable fix. - - - Updated - - - Haha...

    teslaweather.com Update

teslaweather.com is now location aware! I'm not sure if anyone is even using this site anymore, but with the addition of geolocation in 5.9, you don't have to manually enter your zip code any more. If you get out of the car, the browser now automatically reloads whatever page you last had...

Service Center no longer giving loaner cars outside of 50-mile radius?

Last time I called the Grand Ave Service Center, I was told to always call the Villa Park Service Center, and I was given a new phone number. I just assumed that since I was now calling VP, all my service needs (ranger or otherwise) would be handled at that center. Maybe that's not the case...

Service Center no longer giving loaner cars outside of 50-mile radius?

I was told they won't do the annual service check-up on location, that it has to go back to a service center.

Service Center no longer giving loaner cars outside of 50-mile radius?

I'm 75 miles from nearest service center (driving distance), but only 52 miles if you just draw a circle on a map. Do I call back and just scream and shout until they agree to send me a loaner car? I hate being "that guy", just wanted to know if this is the new norm. It was also mentioned on...

Service Center no longer giving loaner cars outside of 50-mile radius?

I just got off the phone with Tesla service and I'm a bit miffed. I was just told that they've changed their policy on loaner vehicles. I am just about to hit 12,500 (at 12,100 now), so I called to schedule my annual maintenance. Although I'm still "in range" to have a Ranger come out and pick...

Media App no longer displays Album/Artist/Song information via Bluetooth

My Media App no longer displays any track information for streaming Bluetooth audio. I'm using an iPhone 5, running iOS 7. I upgraded to iOS 7 when it was first released, but two weeks ago is when the info stopped displaying on the touchscreen. I tried unpairing/repairing my phone, rebooting my...

Things you may not have discovered about your Model S?!

Great information, although at least one item in your PDF is no longer current... "WAKE & UNLOCK VIA TRUNK BUTTON" no longer works as of 4.5. <break> Found this one out last night while pulling in the garage on a phone call. For those of you who want the radio audio to remain at its...

4.5 broke my workflow! (changed unlock procedure)

Yes, this is also part of the reason why I don't like this change. It'd be really super nice if Tesla was able to update the software to where pressing the button on the charging cable would detect if the keyfob was in your possession thus unlocking at least the charging cable, if not the doors...

4.5 broke my workflow! (changed unlock procedure)

I used to be able to approach the back of the car, press the trunk release switch (the one right above the license plate) for about a second, and it would unlock the car (extending the handles) without opening the rear hatch. After upgrading to 4.5, the trunk now opens. Does anyone know of a...

    Custom Weather Website

I've had a request to allow the user to pick which radar image is the default on load (Metro, Region, or Area). If you like it the way it is (Metro as default) then continue to point your browser to Tesla Weather Metro Radar If you'd like the Region Radar View to be your default, point your...

    3D printed coin holder

I designed a short spring-op coin holder that fits in the cup holder and allows the arm rest to slide over top of it. If you've got access to a 3D printer, you can download the STL files here. It's not necessarily the best solution, because since it's so short, it doesn't really hold a ton of...

    IPass install under nose cone

Strange. I removed mine in the complete opposite way. By pulling "up and out" on the bottom side of the nose cone, I was able to remove it without the use of any pry tools. It came off easier than I thought, and only required a moderate amount of pressure.

how to clean INSIDE of windshield?

Probably not what you want to hear, but I've had great success with the plastic arm thing and Invisible Glass. I'm using this one I bought at amazon. It took about three cleanings and some "aggressive" scrubbing and pressure to finally get the factory grime off (I really was amazed at how much...

    Fog Lights Gone?

While it is unfortunate that Tesla removed these from the car without notice, it is important to note that I think people are getting flashed because the headlights are aimed too high. I don't run with my fog lights on, and I got flashed all the time until I had the service center lower the...

    IPass install under nose cone

I picked up my license-plate mounted IPass transponder this morning from a tollway oasis. When I turned in my old transponder and told the lady what I needed, she asked, "What kind of car is this for?" I responded, "A Tesla Model S". She said, "Oh yeah, we get a lot of those". Lucky for me, I...

    How about a DashCam option?

I know this has been discussed on the teslamotors.com forums, but I thought I would add my experience here. I installed an iTronics ITB-100HD dash cam in my S, and it took all of about 30 minutes (plus an additional 30 minutes driving in the ICE to go to the auto parts store and buy a fuse...

    Custom Weather Website

Haha, no doubt!! I drove to Oakbrook Mall from NW Indiana this morning. At one point, I could only see about twenty feet. The radar seemed to match up pretty good, and for the first time I got to see the "thunderstorm" background in real life. Glad you're using the page, and hope it's working well!

Indiana Tesla owners and future owners

Maybe it's just me, but it's hard to commit when there are zero details about the event except for a date that seems to be changing. Drive-in problems (and solution)

You need to seriously look at these. I put one of those in the bed of the truck, and it has totally and completely changed our drive-in experience. Our drive-in opens in a few weeks. My wife and I usually go about 15 times during the summer. In a few years, once the kids are older, we'll be...

Firmware 4.3 - basic charging scheduling

Those keeping score, 4.3 (.45) update popped up for me around 8 pm tonight, VIN 04080. Installed with no issues, headed up to the service center tomorrow to have headlights adjusted and TPMS reset for summer tires, so I'm hoping if any issues creep up, they can take care of it.

I agree. I tried to make the text an actual image so I could make it larger, but I could not for the life of me get it to work. I am a hack when it comes to javascript, and honestly have no idea what I'm doing. The solution I have now was basically me hammering at the code until I got it to...
