Electrek reports that Tesla to offer bird's eye view with FSD

The picture Electrek posted isn’t real. It’s an old mock-up. See the earlier reply: This isn’t a camera view, it’s a vector-space graphic view. We have that now with the car avatar and road objects. This just expands it.

Range Performance vs AWD LR only impacted by wheel size?

Yes, with identical wheels and tires... AWD and Performance have the same efficiency in identical scenarios. (In North America, both were EPA tested/rated with 18” aero wheels and all-season tires... since we originally had a “base” Performance with standard brakes, wheels, etc.) Sorry, I have...

    Taptes new wireless charging pad

The Nomad 2 only pulls 5V at ~1.4A max off the front USB port(s) with a single Qi iPhone XS Max mounted, so it clearly isn't delivering full 7.5W Qi to the iPhone.

Safety features are included in all Model 3s. No EAP necessary.
  7. grommet

How to confirm EAP and FSD on m3?

Any of the future FSD features will require the upgraded Autopilot compute hardware coming in 4-6 months (Elon time) -- so it's not going to be a surprise for anyone.

    Stock 20” Tire Question

We don't know how they'll wear on the Model 3 P, yet... but Sport 4S is very popular, and their lifespan is notably better than many performance summer tires. It has an excellent balance of performance and wear, and many see over 24K miles on them.

How can Autopilot be applauded? Any suggestions?

The author of this YouTube video updated his description to be less misleading now. No, the car didn't swing over to the other lane automatically. The bad part is most won't read this, and the Electrek article hasn't been updated. "Our Model 3 Autopilot when it sensed an accident was imminent...

How can Autopilot be applauded? Any suggestions?

Current "Enhanced" Autopilot doesn't even have all the cameras active, and uses the shorter range ultrasonic sensors for "seeing" to the side. Have you used the auto lane change feature? Have you noticed the poor behavior of it's blind spot monitoring? It's not ready for these types of quick...

How can Autopilot be applauded? Any suggestions?

The Lane Assist/collision avoidance won't move out of the lane. That would be far too dangerous for the car to do in a split-second. The owner's manual documents this behavior, and I've experienced it: It doesn't cross the line... it only nudges over in the same lane. In this video, the driver...

Aftermarket Hitch Installation for Model 3

    WIFI is a hot mess

The SOC in the Tesla is vintage, and we're stuck with it's aging WiFi capabilities. It's plain 802.11g (& 2.4Ghz) only. Performance is poor, and it's the only G device I have left. The Model 3 should have something far more modern. Hopefully the Model S and X will get a new computer eventually...

    Tesla Model X as hotspot?

The Wi-Fi tech in the Tesla used to connect just at home is seriously outdated already, thanks to the vintage NVIDIA SOC it uses. (802.11g only, 2.4Ghz only... in 2016?!)
