Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

Let me start off by saying we loved our Tesla but decided to sell based practicality. It's a little too small for our family, otherwise we would keep it. Model Y is out of the question for the time being. With that said, I bought the car in March of 2023 and will be trading it in on a SUV...

    Wheel Paint

I would be just as annoyed at myself if I did it. Im sure it wont be the last curb fight. I wash my cars almost every week, I wont be able to look at this for long.

    Wheel Paint

Thanks - I did see that. I guess I was just trying to clarify that all model 3 stock 18 inch wheels are the same color.

    Wheel Paint

Where is everyone getting their wheel touch up paint. I know Im not the only husband who has a wife who can’t drive through parking lots without kissing curbs. It’s a 2023 with stock 18 inch wheels.

    Model 3 Final Payment

I would just deposit the money in your account and pay it electronically to Tesla. Thats probably the most practical way to guy.

open a dispute with your credit card. Hopefully you use amex. ALL of my autopay stuff is set up with my amex in the event of something like this happening to me.

Thanks again for everyone's help and the offer for the LED light board.

Tesla wont replace wall connector with non functional LEDs under warranty

I agree nothing is perfect. I'd rather having no lights than the, there is clearly something wrong with me, light show I was getting. It wasnt bright or faint, in sync or methodical. Just random flashes of all lights, sometime bright sometimes dim. I am a person who uses the lights. My...

Tesla wont replace wall connector with non functional LEDs under warranty

We can agree to disagree on this one. I should not have to disassemble a product and fix it myself if it's still under warranty. After four years... fair game - I'll tear that thing apart and frankenstein it if I have to... under warranty = unacceptable.

Tesla wont replace wall connector with non functional LEDs under warranty

Reseated the ribbon cable and we are good to go here. Still can’t believe the ineptitude of the wall support customer service.

Tesla wont replace wall connector with non functional LEDs under warranty

That’s exactly how I picture her!! The issue is she made a mark on my account that every other customer service person sees, saying not to replace the charger it works.

Tesla wont replace wall connector with non functional LEDs under warranty

I forgot the most amusing part... After she told me that the lights dont matter as long as it's charging the car, i assimilated that to "is it ok if my model 3's screen stopped working, but it still drove me from point A to point B?" She hung up on me after that. Thats not apples to apples but...

Tesla wont replace wall connector with non functional LEDs under warranty

Im actually really more pissed off that they get over on people like this. Who in their right mind thinks it's ok to say that the charger is doing its job by charging the car, everything else, all other features, dont matter. It's not the end of the world, but come on... its broken and in...

Very kind and gracious of you. I will try taking it apart and re-seating the ribbon cable. If that fails I will take you up on this offer. Much appreciated.

Tesla wont replace wall connector with non functional LEDs under warranty

I bought a Gen 3 wall charger and have been having issues with the LED's. They would do this crazy flicker flash dance like Kevin Bacon in footloose. Completely not normal LED patterns. I would also come out in the morning and the lights would be completely OFF. However the charger would...

Gen 3 Wall Charger All Green 1 Blue Light

This morning I woke up to find that my gen 3 wall charger had all solid green lights with one blue light in the middle lit up. The charger was not plugged in to my model 3. I flipped the breaker and shut it down. When I turned it back on Im getting the pulsing green light. What going on with...

Tesla Wall connector with 14-50 NEMA plug

I used a homemade pigtail for years with a wall charger. I only recently hardwired because now I use the outlet for a garage heater. Now my wall charger is hardwired. The electrician is in it for the money, its business.

Buy Model 3 Now or Wait? [jan 2023]

I did the same thing, a week ago. I was lucky enough to get an inventory delivered to my local service center in time. I took delivery yesterday (cutting it close) with ZERO issues. I am a previous (Tesla Used) model S owner, and that experience went smooth, but not as smooth as this. They...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Ordered my "inventory" model 3 on Saturday 2/18. It was already "en route" to my local service center, scheduled to be delivered on 2/25. My appointment to pick up is on 2/27. Thats cutting it really close to March 1st. Anyone have any delay issues with inventory deliveries being delayed? I...

    Thinking of Buying M3

With all of the tax credits/incentives I'm looking into a M3 standard range base. I had a model s a few years ago so I am familiar with the overall idea of Tesla. This will replace my wife's Ford Explorer (she no longer needs a SUV). However, her lease is not up until the end of Oct. I dont...

Original owners of 2012/2013 Model S w/ 85 kWh pack: Has your main pack been replaced?

You wont get much more than that. I traded in a "14 with autopilot and 63k miles for 26k. Its ashame that tesla buyers are few and far between someone missed out on free supercharging, updated MCU2 and free premium connectivity.

2014 Tesla Model S 85kwh rear wheel drive with approximately 62,000 miles. Battery charges to about 248 miles at 100%. The car is in great condition with no issues. Original owners of 2012/2013 Model S w/ 85 kWh pack: Has your main pack been replaced?

I appreciate this post because I have a 2014 that will be out of battery / DU warranty within a year. I really like this car but I am scared to death of an out of warranty battery replacement. As much as I want to keep it, my gut tells me to sell before the warranty expires. I live in NJ so I...

Most Reliable Model S Handles? Gen 3 vs Rebuilt

gen 3 from Tesla are going to be the way to go. There are less moving parts and the known issues seem to have been eliminated. The caveat is that Tesla needs update the software every time one gets replaced. Its no longer 100% diy with Gen 3's.

Have the 2021 Model S refresh exterior door handles been redesigned?!

New door handles are much simpler and less prone to break, but they require a software something to get them to operate properly. Meaning... good luck DIY door handle replacements.

Same bump here too, it is avoidable if they take extra time/care but, quite simply, they dont.

    Purchased 1st Tesla

The used Tesla buying experience is not the greatest, so my suggestions is to expect the worst and when it all goes well you'll feel great. For me (2 years ago) it was almost exactly 4 weeks from the date of deposit to the date of delivery (AZ to NJ). I did have a sales advisor contact me...

    Remote app and seat warmers

The seat warmers are so weak in these cars that they are probably turned on but you cant feel them until you sit on the seat for a few minutes and the heat transfers through the layers of seat material. Mine acts the same way and that's how I have rationalized it in my head. After pre-heating...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I wonder if the software upgrade from v8 to v10 is the reason this worked or would just any software re-deploy allow for a new chargeport to sync to the car. Anyone know this?

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

@wk057 Thanks for all the info. I have one of the affected batteries in my 11/14 MS85. Im running 2021.4.6 now (new MCU2 upgrade) and was wondering if my issue of not being able to charge to 100% over the past year was a result of the issue you discovered. My range hasn't really decreased...

Model S dead, "Vehicle may not restart"

If you decide to have the 12v replaced, I would have Tesla do it. Im a DIY person but I've read of guys replacing their 12v and having problems that need a tech to correct. Its only about $200 well worth it to avoid headaches with more errors. Just a suggestion, I never thought I'd think...

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

So sorry, Im stupid you are not. Either way, yes I forgot that one thing and it turns out its the only thing they messed up. Long to short still very happy with upgrade and anyone on the fence I'd suggest to do it even if only AP1 and you have the means. Oh and dont forget to check the door...

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

Damn-it... just found that my doors won’t unlock from the app since my upgrade. I figured that since everything else worked, before I left the SC, that the remote door unlock would work. WRONG!

Cost to charge at home in Florida

I'd park in the garage and tell them to leave me alone, I only charge at superchargers. Here in NJ it costs .16 cents a kwh (delivered). I can only assume its less money down in FL, as NJ has some high energy costs. 85 x .16 = $13.60 (0% to 100%).
