Another RIP Model S. My 2014 P85DL was rear ended on HWY 101 north in San Francisco by an 18-wheeler while I was merging into the right lane. Knocked across 3 lanes, spun the car around, into the center divider, but I somehow walked away unscratched. Kinda a miracle that I didn’t hit another vehicle, esp. during rush hour.
Need some advice: Car is at towing company lot. Signed over vehicle to insurance company to get taken away soon. I stopped by to get my remaining incidentals out of the car/glove compartment, but can’t get into the vehicle. Key fob does not seem to work on doors or smashed trunk. Strangely, it did open the frunk once (unable to repeat) - what does that mean about the 12V battery? The main battery seems bricked and won’t connect to app or Tesla service at all. Also, tried to put fob on windshield and push autopresent handles (per Tesla service for dead battery), but that also did not work.
Besides smashing a window, or waiting for Insurance scrap lot to recover items, any other ideas?
