12.8 Kw DC Solar panel clipping at 7.7Kw can I add 3.8 inverter?

Does anyone know if it is possible to add an additional inverter to stop the clipping? From 10-3 pm I am clipping, I am in SoCal and get a lot of sun.

Depends on who installed it, and whether they would want to install an additional piece of hardware onto your system. There is virtually no chance that the additional captured solar would pay for the cost to install the inverter + the inverter though, even over multiple years time.

Depends how it’s setup. You might be able to move string over to another inverter. It may be cheaper to upgrade the inverter you have. You may have to go through permitting process again as well.

Since it is clipping at 7,7kW, you must have a 7.6 inverter? Right now, you have 1.66 DC/AC ration, a bit much.
Will your power company allow more production?

Also if you are on NEM 2.0 changes to the system could push you into NEM 3.0...

A bit of clipping during April/May/June also means that you are getting more out of your inverter and system the rest of the year.

1.66:1 is a bit on the high side, we did 23.5:20 or 1.175:1
