12v outlet not turning off?

I recently installed a dashcam that is plugged into the 12v outlet inside the armrest. When I checked my footage it shows that the dashcam was continuously recording even though the car was off and sleeping. At first I thought it might have been sentry mode that kept the 12v on but even after I turned off sentry mode today the camera still would not shut down, meaning my 12v keeps being on. Anybody has that issue, I thought that the 12v is turned off when the car is off?

If sentry is on, it won't cut the power to the 12v. Why? I have no clue!

That's the way that it's been for most of the year. It was changed. 12V stays on.
