20 MYLR Inverter replacement. Possible with Toybox3 Sub?

I have a 20 MYLR, It was a great car and sadly was rear ended.

The car is fixed body wise, how ever the motor case is cracked and needs to be replaced.

The car is on our company policy and I wanted to avoid going through Insurance, so I was hoping to purchase a complete used motor assembly and swap it in, and use the Subscription to toolbox 3 to do the inverter program.

In the Service manual, it states its as easy as downloading the bootloader information off the current inverter.
Installing the new one.
Uploading the old configuration.

How ever hoping to have someone chime in that can provide real world experience to possibly save myself some serious time and headache.

The car currently has a 990 Inverter/motor. If doing the swap will a 980 work? I can get a working full assembly 980 from a local yard for 2000 USD.

If it's not possible can anyone on this forum offer the service? I am in northern Florida area.

Hopefully mods can edit the title so you get more reach. Otherwise Electrified Garage is in Ocala and West Palm, they should be able to help you. You'd probably have to get a tow there, though.

Is your original inverter good? If so you can transfer it to the new motor, without the need to do any programming.

I think OP is asking because if they use the 980 inverter there are performance upgrades that are possible.
