2017 X Supercharging

I'm looking at selling my 2015 MS and buying a 2017 MX (100D). I can't seem to find the charge rates at Superchargers for that specific year/battery. Does anybody know how fast I should expect to go from 10-80% (or whatever range) at the Superchargers? I imagine it's not as good as the newer years, but still want to know.

Find your battery among these graphs
Note these graphs are charge rate vs *state of charge* not vs time.

If you just care about time, basically P85 _DA is right, just assume 45 minutes to go from 10% to 80% StateofCharge on either a V2 or V3 supercharger (You can assume neither will exceed 150kW on your pack), or one hour at an urban supercharger (which is always a constant 72kW unless there's some kind of temperature issue or you're getting real close to 100% SoC).

Here's some example math for the urban supercharger : Your pack holds about 100 kWh (actually 94 but who's counting. Let's stay with round numbers). Going from 10 to 80 SoC is 70% of a 100kWh pack which is 70kWh. At an urban supercharger that charges at 70 kW (again sticking with round numbers here) that's exactly one hour.

At v2 and v3 superchargers, here's a rule of thumb that characterizes those charging curves: for much of the charging session your SoC plus the current charge rate in kW will add up to a constant number. As one goes up the other goes down. For my car, when conditions are optimal (good temps, no one parked next to me at a v2, etc), this number is about 150. When the car is at 35% SoC it charges at 115 kW. When it gets up to 60% SoC the charge rate drops to 90kW . At 80% it has tapered to 70kW . They always add up to 150. This relationship breaks down at the beginning and end of the charge session but you get the idea.

For you experts in integral calculus, it's not hard to determine the amount of time spent adding 70kWh. For the rest of us, just figure IT'S FORTY FIVE MINUTES to add 70%

There are plots of charge vs time that people have produced using apps like, I forget, TeslaFi or or whatever. I don't have those handy. Maybe someone else can help.

We can see a bit over 150kW on our 2017 MX 100D at the V3 chargers. Tapers pretty quick, though.

Multiply KW delivered by 1.20 for your pack.
