2018 trunk can interfere with an open charge port door

Noticed that I shouldn't open the trunk when charging because it interferes with the charge port door. When I was at a supercharger the other day I looked at a new 2019 Model 3 and the plastic appears to have been changed to address this issue. I have a very early 2018 and I'm wondering if anyone else noticed this problem and when the issue was fixed?

My wife told me this was a problem on our Model 3, but I checked today and the trunk easily clears the open charge port. 6/19 build.

Need a pic OP. Seems to be an issue with your car and not a thing effected by Model year change.
