I have the same problem. Just updated. I deleted old folder and entered new folder. TeslaCam

Still have grey x.

You need to completely reformat or erase, then setup TeslaCam folder again.

No. I have no icon at all. And I checked the usb drive on my computer and it is functioning. Actually had a few files from right before I did the update.

Resolved. Didn't do anything. Went back out to the car, wasn't there, then just suddenly popped up. Must have needed more time to boot after update? Whatevs, it's back.

reformatted last night got the update and got the black x my Teslacam hoping another reformat will do it

Disappeared again for a while and came back. I think 5.16 introduced a bug into the dashcam.

My 2018 model x has not had the icon show up for several months. Have reformatted 3 different USB drives probably over 10 times each and created TeslaCam folder. Nothing works.

Is it possible you’ve formatted with an incompatible file system type, or tried formatting on an alternate system that’s worked on another vehicle?

Are you for example getting power from the USB ports?

If you’re positive that you have and you’ve verified that it’s not being read in either port you might want to see what support can offer.
