2021 Model S is unable to connect to my garage door opener

My new Model S arrived 10 days ago and many (10+) attempts to connect with my garage door opener have failed. I have tried both methods described in the owners manual and several other ways too. Why is this so difficult? I had an Infiniti and it was a snap.

One model s and 2 3s with homelink. All connected same as every other car I’ve owned in 20+ years. If you are really following instructions, then maybe you have a defective unit. But there’s nothing unique to Tesla re setup.

I have the Homelink adapter to make my gate function and despite numerous attempts I can't get it to connect to it. 2107 MS

I am curious what software version you are on?

I'm having the same issue, having just taken delivery of a Model S running 2021.31.102 ...I'm hoping this will just fix itself with a software update but I've scheduled a service appointment just in case.

The Model 3 I just replaced had no issues with this same opener.

i had this issue and spend like 2 whole evenings trying to sync it. turns out it was because i was using a 3rd party opener i had purchased and was using.

i grabbed the oem opener from our other car and used that to program... it worked on the first try. not sure if that will work for you, but give it a shot!

Hmm I finally got it working. Instead of saving the programming when the car thought it was done, I kept hitting “back” to go back and repeat the training process. After about four times back and forth it had finally paired successfully.
