My car arrived! View attachment 785793

Right off the bat however, it got some problems. Namely:
  • The trunk doesn't close properly - requiring me to physically push it down. Link to video of trunk closing (it also makes spooky ghost noises that I'm unsure are intended lol)
  • The frunk requires a stupid amount of effort to close, way more than my 3. (Unclear if this is a defect or if that's expected?)
  • For both frunk/trunk, opening it makes it sound like it was forced closed so it opens semi-violently or makes a very loud snap/crack noise.
  • Driver window squeaks a bit whenever it closes
  • The missing parcel shelf (like everyone else)
  • I had one instance of some really odd shuddering when I accelerated spiritedly, but that may have been the road/my imagination.
Aside from that though, everything else feels fantastic! I just don't look forward to needing to take it in for service 😭
Initially I was closing the frunk wrong. I was trying to slam it down and it would never close and then I watched a A Tesla video where they just push it all the way down and then when it’s resting at the bottom give it a nice shove at the bottom.

Took delivery and had 2 issues. A very minor a paint chip on the front part of the hood and the other not so minor was the edge of a large panel was touched up to try to cover damage to the edge of the panel. Other than that the build quality is pretty good. Like an upscale Toyota with nicer more modern styling.

RN 1152. Currently set for April 12-May 24.

FSD in MSM with standard wheels (if this helps with anyone's else's tracking)

First time ordering a Tesla and finally get the wait that my friends were telling me...
1168 orders in the Bay Area have recently been filled. Please make sure your order is complete in Tesla’s eyes. Search here what that means. You could probably even call Tesla and try to get matched before March 31. You will almost certainly not get a car in April. Your next window opens in June. Long waits in your area are rare but we have seen a few.

At 40F the All Season should grip better. It might be that brand new tires have slick coating on them that takes a 100 miles or so to wear off.

Curious if you find them any quieter on the highway.
My Tesla service center let me keep my Summer tires when they installed the correct All-Seasons (so now I have a spare set of Pirelli summer tires if anyone is in the market for a set for a low price). I didn't notice a significant difference between the two sets in terms of noise or grip, but I hadn't driven with the summer tires all that long, and was being pretty careful because it was cold here in Nebraska! In the long run, I know I'm much better off with All-Seasons for our winter months here.

Thanks! Order is complete, just waiting on Tesla. I had delayed my order once due to me being out of state when they were ready for me (End of December)

KARMA - car is less than three days since delivery, I have now 192 miles, and I have a screw in one of my 21" tires! No loss of tire pressure yet though. I assume a plug will fix it? Does Tesla service do this or should I just go to a tire store? I really don't want them dismounting the tires to do an inside patch and risk scratching my brand new rims!

Totally uninformed on this but I’ll speculate. Tire insurance covers nail damage. New tires from a tire shop come with basic insurance that covers a short period of certainly longer than 3 days. I would like to argue that tires on a new car come with this same basic coverage from the dealer. OK let the shots start…

Some tire stores will fix a flat for free as a gesture of good will so you’ll buy your next set from them. And last time I had one done, they insisted on plug and patch as the safest way to repair. Their machines are pretty good these days at preventing scratches on the wheels.

Unfortunately the screw was too close to the sidewall and two tire stores said it could not be patched or plugged. Only place with the same tire in stock was Tesla and because I did not want to drive on it, I had to buy a new tire. $553 at Tesla but the customer service at Agoura SC was great and got me in even though they were slammed with other repairs.

Ordered mine last October and received mine the 22nd. Just found this forum. Signed up just to share that info. Poor rim… rear wheel. My wife curbed it, with 110 miles on it, yesterday.

Got my car yesterday and dropped it off to get PPF.

10 month of waiting

So far issues is panel gap on the hood is slightly off.

The rear appliqué bar is missing the screws. Looks like the factory took it off to either repaint sometbing because there’s a lil over spray and a machine was used to try to polish.

Other than that, for a long range, this thing is stupid fast. Can’t imagine a plaid

No tire place will plug from outside.

I do it all the time for exactly the reason you said. It’s a bit of an art doing it.

Hi there did you notify Tesla in the app. I got summer tires and want all seasons. Any tips
