2021 updates to my 2019 model 3

I'm pretty sure there's no good answer to this but... can I get all the lovely 2021 upgrades on my 2019 model 3?

Assuming the heat exchange is too difficult but automatic boot opener and better noise cancellation sound like they can be done officially (he says desperately).

Auto boot/drunk is easy and you can DIY.

Glass shouldn't be hard, but would require a specialist. Jury is still out on if it's quieter. Get a door seal kit, that worked best for me.

Heatpump, not currently possible.

Headlights, expensive.

The Hansshow auto boot and frunk openers are an option for a retrofit. Cabin noise can be improved with appropriate additional seats in the doors and roof and there are some people who have added additional sound deadening to the boot area and various panels around the car.

Heatpump was for the milage but obvs a biggy. Boot opener is because mine isn't really opening now and I keep banging my head :)

The thing I'm really looking for is noise reduction though - my wife doesn't have the best hearing and the car is much worse than I expected (it's worse on the drivers side but their 'fix' didn't do anything sadly).

I might try that - any confidence they work?

I added a layer of closed loop foam from Amazon under my Boot Liner and I thinks it has helped with noise reduction and it's an easy DIY thing to do.

The dealer Richard Symons did a video on the sound - it wasn't very scientific - a short drive in each car with an app on his phone measuring noise and there was no real difference. There might be at higher speed, but I'd suggest the noise varies more by how well its built and how flush the panels are than anything to do with the actual changes. If you want to make it quieter you can try the seals, and I recon a few hundred spent at a place that fits hifi upgrades would add all sorts of sound insulation to door linings etc that would also help.

Boot may be retrofittable but there are definitely aftermarket ones including those that open with a swipe of your foot under the bumper, or just get a more powerful strut that opens for you which you can change quickly and are pretty cheap. Probably worth a go for what they cost.

The heat pump... they seem to have problems with them and some have reported they are noisy in themselves.

If there is no extra insulation in the body of the car, thicker glass may not make any difference to overall noise levels. Noise may be perceived as lower from passing traffic etc, as your ears will localise that to moving objects “passing the windows”

tyres account for the largest noise proportion with resonance into the wheel arches and chassis. If you strip out the rear arches and add some isolation/deadening material you get a good improvement. Under the boot floor already has a big chunk of foam.
