Just a thought, why not tap the connector to another LED light currently working under the door handle that has the power to test it out?
I am also very curious to see what it looks like at night

With three wires, these trim lights are different than all the other 2-wire LEDs used in the car. I'd love to get my hands on the module to pull it apart and see what is in the light module. Perhaps someone can do this and photograph the insides of the module. I suspect it's more than just an LED.
No is an RGB LEd that is why has three wires. I tested them on the floor not installed because I’m trying to get the config changed. If activated with a config change u will actually able to change the color…
I checked the wire diagram, they go in the VC left and VC right. Even center console goes there.
So that means you can easily control them with a cheap RGB 12V bluetooth controller from Amazon most likely.
