2023 Model 3 Rear Passenger Plastic Rocker Trim Scruff Fix! šŸš˜

Just got a curb scruff on the rear passenger side plastic rocker trim as I was getting out of an incredibly tight parking. Is there any quick fix for this scruff I would hate to have to replace the entire rocker trim off of some shady eBay seller?

I have heard people raving about the matte plasti dip, but i would not want to worsen the situation if the color was to be a mismatch. Anyone got any suggestions?

Best,
Rubab

First try to clean it and smooth it out by rubbing with a paste made from baking soda and water. You can use a cloth or a brush. If that doesn't sufficiently hide it, the next step would be a using a heat gun as shown in the video below.

I was considering just spray painting and dabbing the affected area, but a color mismatch would definitely NOT be the ideal solution. I cleaned with isopropyl alcohol but the scraped, hardened plastic is whatā€™s dangling off the edges of the trim and definitely wonā€™t return to its oem somewhat grey-black plastic color unless painted.
