2023 Model y LR - steering vibration at 65mph

So as suspected. Foam came loose. They replaced the one tire (Driver's Front).
However, Tessie reported while the car was in for service, that the right rear PSI had gone to 0 - and looking at the pressures on the car, the right rear is reporting a higher pressure than the other three.
I can't seem to figure out how to tell the car to relearn TPMS... I just see changing the type of tires Summer/All Season, and Winter - or the type of Wheel. I don't want to reset the 6000 mile tire service counter - but is that the only way to get TPMS to relearn where the wheels are?

I also got the car up to the high 80s MPH, and felt some brief vibrations in the wheel (nothing as dramatic as before). I suspect the other tire foam may also be slightly dislodged.. I guess time will tell..

It sounds like the SC did not pop the beads and check all the tires, they just did one.. *shrug* we'll see how it goes.

Nice! I suspected the driver's side front tire was the culprit - as that would really impact the rear mirror on that side...

Mirror still shakes.. lol.

That menu doesn't exist on my 23 MY.
It did on my 2015 MS Loaner though.

Yep - I went out to try it and my menu did not have that option. Tesla just keeps updating - hard docs are outdated quickly.

Nope. Snow tires are on deck, so we’ll see if it disappears with a different set of wheels and tires.
If it does, I’ll have to wait until I’m due for new tires on the induction wheels.
Hopefully not too much wear and tear on the suspension.

Bummer, I thought they fixed yours that your foam got loose. Looks like not yet.

No progress in my case either. I put a different set of wheels (rims and tires) - same intermittent vibration at around 70mph and higher.

I will say after I replaced my OEM tires and after the first tire rotation and rebalance (on new tires)... The vibration almost went away... in fact it's so subtle (most times) I have to try really hard to notice it.... *Shrugs* I really don't know man....

If you have 25k+ miles might want to check the play between the right half shaft and the differential. That vibration that you keep chasing and cannot locate, may be the half shaft eating away at either differential side gear, or possibly a bushing between differential side gear and the half shaft. Root cause still unknown, as well as solution.

My model 3 2019 steering vibrates at 110km/h+.

Costco has rotated and balanced tires and issue remains. Car had the control arms replaced at 40000kms by previous owner.

I still have a vibration. Gone when I had my snows on, back with the 20” inductions and stock/OEM EV tires.

Mine was both rear wheels were bent (they balanced fine at costco but they didn't realize it was bent)

Tesla thought it was rear knuckles, they replaced that ($2000+) and only then realized the wheels were buckled. Took them to an alloy repair shop and now I have a smooth ride.

Sort of. It’s one of three things.
The tires are terrible.
The foam in the tires are loose.
The wheels are bent.

I’m going with the foam, since I’ve had this issue since day 1.
If I’m feeling adventurous I could jack up all four corners and put it in drive and see if the wheels are bent. Sounds like a lot of work

Why haven't you turned this over to a reputable tire shop for a thorough analysis? This isn't brain surgery.

Because after fighting with 4 or 5 different service visits, one confirmed foam failure and tire replacement - I ran out of comp time with my company and quite honestly was sick of dealing with it.
I'll wait until I need new tires, and hope that the vibrations don't wear out the suspension and drivetrain prematurely.

Yes. Just rebalanced again with noticeable improvement. Good enough for now. Luckily most of out driving is not hwy.
