2023 models

Just wondering… when do the 2023 models come out. My model S is scheduled for September-October.

Also if I’m on vacation when my car is ready, if I push it back, do I just get the next car that’s available or how far am I pushed back?

Are you asking when the VIN numbers will change to indicate model year 2023? I think last year some people reported seeing that as early as October, but I'm not sure about that (previously it happened in December). If your VIN was already assigned, then it will be a 2022.

If you already own a Tesla, you probably know that model years don't mean anything in terms of features -- hardware changes can happen at any time during the year.

You'll be notified of your delivery date and you'll be able to pick a date when you're available, assuming you're not going away for months.

No VIN assigned. Yea I know the year doesn’t matter… just wondering if I were to sell the car in the future. I would assume that 2023 sounds better than a 2022 model. Thank you!

If your delivery actually happens in Sept-Oct, it's unlikely you'll get a 2023 VIN.

Last year, all Tesla cars manufactured after November 1st became a 2022 model year. So yes the wise thing is to wait for a 2023 if you don’t need the car now. Your resale value in 3-5yrs will likely be higher.
