I folded the rear bench seats down. Then locate the pins securing the bench/seat to the rear of the car. Then I wrapped those pins w felt tape so when you put the seats up and secure/anchor them to those points, there are no metal to metal contact to cause noises.
Both cars were done at Low as I noticed the cars ride at that height more than 90% of the time. On the S, I don’t set it to default to low so in rough surface streets the car rides in Medium height.
Looks like the S comes from the factory w slightly less negative camber than the X. I’ve had 15k...
Correct. The “before” is after I added the rear camber silver shims. That part is not adjustable so prob reduced the camber from -2.3 to -1.5.
Of note is the front camber from the factory is off significantly. I read about Tesla alignment being off from the factory and didn’t believe it until now.
This is my MX LR on LOW height before (w/ silver shims installed) and after alignment.
From factory, front Camber was not even, -.5 left and -1.2 right so might pull car to one side. Toe rear .38 and .43 which is too much after the silver camber shim installed. Now .23/.22. Camber rear better...
I had a 22 MYP w the MPP comfort coilover. That Y was perfect in every way except the ride quality (even after coils). I just got the MX LR and I don’t miss the Y one bit. The biggest downside is a slightly bigger car to park. Otherwise everything is better than the Y. On daily driving and not...
Wow thanks for the heads up. I installed mine the day I got the car last week. Luckily I’ve only driven it for one day. I just checked and there is very little space between the windshield and the metal ring that helped keep the screen in shape. When the visor is extended from the sides to cover...
You get to make one vin rejection regardless of reason. Your order goes on hold for 2 weeks. The next vin usually arrives 1-2 weeks after the 2 week hold period. All pricing, credits, and discounts stay the same. I’m not sure about FSD transfers as it stipulates delivery has to be done in 2023...
I put in an order for a CT anbouy 6 months ago (April 2013). Currently getting no email, no invitation to get the foundation model or anything. I just reached out to Tesla via text inquiring about the 1k discount, took them a day to add an additional 1k discount to my order.
Great info thanks. Did your shop remove the front camera on the windshield to do the tinting or did they cut the film and tint around it? I’ve been doing 50% IRX/CTX on the ws on my last 2-3 cars and I love it. Prob do the same for my new MX.
Haha this was the Irvine/Barranca Tesla in So Cal. One of the employees offered me a bow and took some pictures for me. My wife couldn't come because she has to work so I was there by myself. Maybe he felt sorry for me since everyone else was there with their family lol. So be sure to ask for a...
Car was perfect and everything works! 12mi on odometer, AP calibrated after 1.5 mi, super smooth and quiet. Felt much more sporty than the previous X hence I got the Y at that time. This is going to be a keeper.
Yes I locked this rate on the last day of October so good until 12/31. Regular rate was 4.5% something, but new customers get 3.99. I think it stayed under 5% until earlier this month and suddenly shot over 6%. I’m not sure if they still offer the 1% discount.
If you happen to have an order...
So it went down to the wire, 3.99% for 5y vs the current 6.74% that's a difference of 6k over 5y.
I submitted the MVPA on Weds, but my loan officer was off on Thursday so nothing was done. This morning 6a I called saying I need the loan funding today as I'm picking up my car tomorrow Saturday...
The media gets more view counts if it's about Tesla. All these Tesla "recalls" just need an over the air update so your car probably has already been fixed by the time you read about it in the news. Toyota just issued a recall for 1M cars due to a bad airbag sensor. Those cars have to be taken...
I was happy w my MYP until I got the MSP. It was the suspension that made me realize I wanted the MX. Had a MX for an overnight loaner and I was sold. I even had the MPP comfort coilover so they were nights and day better than stock. So I’m super excited for my new MX.
Thanks for the heads up I’ll call them tomorrow.
On another note, I have a Cybertruck on order and was able to ask them apply the $1k credit from the CT order to my X. Sort of a consolation for not getting a 2024 MX this year.
So they gave me 2 options for delivery, this Friday or Saturday. It might rain on Friday so I’ll pick up on Saturday. Also just in case there’s a delay w Fed Choice loan funding.
Sometimes CA orders get pushed to the end of the month knowing they can get a car from the factory to you in 2-4 days. If you’re in other parts of the country, the car needs to get assigned at least 10-14 days ahead. So I feel CA orders should get some movements this and next week.
You can text on your phone when they try to communicate w you about your vin or delivery. You can also use the chat function on the Tesla app. They all have access to this info
Front camera and ambient lighting in the S/X is prob priority #57 on Tesla’s priority list. Right now they’re just trying to deliver cars. So I’m sure it’ll come someday. But prob not for a while. People who really want ambient lighting and better interior should buy a BMW or Merc.
All this happening on the 2nd week of December must be such a cluster for Tesla. Definitely puts a damper on new deliveries. We can all kiss the 2024 cars in December good bye. As a matter of fact, many can kiss the tax credit car good bye too. Unless Tesla provides an instant rebate if your car...
We haven’t seen new vins in a week. My EDD got pushed back a week. It’s going to be close. I’m changing my order to a MXP and white interior if they can’t deliver the MXLR by NYE.
No VIN yet and I’m not that hopeful. My EDD has been moving an additinal 1-2 days since 12/8, currently sitting at 12/11-31. I just want a car by the 31st as that’s when my Fed Choice 3.99% expires.
First time I’ve ever heard any Tesla being a 2024 this year. Last year, the European Model S became a 2023 for about a month before the USA got their first 2023. So there’s hope for those in the US still waiting for a 2024 vin this year.
You can tell them you don’t want to accept this car in person or thru text if Tesla has been contacting you via that route. They don’t care for the reason and will put your order on hold for 2 weeks. You can go online and release that hold within a week and you should get a new vin shortly after...
Reject, and release order hold within a week so you’ll get another vin within a week or two. Just keep track of this vin so they don’t assign you the same vin.
PF428 is a very recent vin so unlikely a reject. 2 days prob cuz we’ve approaching the end of the month so they’re prob working triple OT to push these out for q4.
