5% energy increase/year ---2013 85kwh vs 2016 60kwh

Hello.
I have a 2013 85 Model S. I drive 8K mi/yr, but do go on a few trips. Getting ready to order a new model S.
I want to decide between 60 and 75 batt. pack. The 75 kwh pack is another like 8 or 9K$.
Is a 2016 60 kwh pack equal to say a 2013 75 kwh pack? If the 2016 packs pack a given percentage more energy, I will just go with the 60 kwh.

Also, I plan to fly from San Diego to Fremont to pick the car up so I can get a factory tour. Will I have any problems getting home in the smallest battery Tesla offers? Thanks!

What's your 90% charge on your 85? Mine is at 220 rated miles after 67,000 miles. The MS60 is rated at 218 at 100%, which is really 85% of the battery. So it would probably work. You can always unlock the 75 later if you want.

A 2013 60kWh patch holds the same energy as a 2016 60kWhkWh pack.

If the title is questioning a 5% improvement a year, that's what has enabled creation of a 100kWh pack.

The new one might be a bit lighter, might charge a bit faster, but same amount of energy.

A 2016 "D" model is slightly more effecient and may go farther on the same amount of energy.
