A/C ductwork concern

Does anyone experienced the A/C duct work fitting problem?
The Hood is disconnected from duct in my M3LR. I have tried to connect it by myself, but the fitting is horrible.

My M3LR was like that when I got it. I pushed the lower section down and towards the center and it seemed to snap into place.

Mine is the same way. Horrible fitment. Very loose. I've tried moving the lower piece around and there is nothing for it to snap into place, in to. I took some 2mm thick foam, with the sticky tape on one side and put it on the upper inside edge of the lower piece. Then pushed the upper piece into it. Now it stays snug in place, with zero rattle.

Wow, wtf. They change the design in the 2021s but the 2020 and older ones do not look like that and is one giant piece.
