I personally prefer to replace the entire piece. Originally I bought the kind that just sticks over the wood for my M3, but it doesn’t look good IMO, since you can still see the wood on the end if you look close. Replacing the entire piece, with a real carbon fiber insert, looks OEM. Just my OCD.

Added the light up door sill protectors to my MY today. Have had this exact same version on my M3 for nearly a year now, and they still look and function great. Not bad for $90 and they don't require you to remove the stock sill protectors.

I don't believe there is any way to address it, without removing the door itself and either adjusting the gap at the bottom to make it wider, therefore pushing the door up or modifying the bottom of the door itself. Not worth it IMO, for zero gain.

I don't recall seeing any issues with mine. You bought the ones that slide over the original, correct? I'm willing to bet that some doors are lower that others. Gaps on Tesla's can vary by several mm's, and yours could very will be rubbing, whilst most other people have no issues.
